Autocad 2013 64bit service packed
Every time I use the drop down menu to select unit to save OR open a file, it freezes and then all the programbecomes not responding (have to force close from windows utility).
I have installed AutoCAD 2013 student on my Laptop (Win7 32Bit) and want to work now.
But I have the problem that my Menubar always freezes / becomes instabil.
-> When I open ACAD, the menu bar is by default on "Home", when I click on the tab "Insert", the tools of "insert" aren't visible, there are still the tools from "Home" shown (Line, Polyline, Circle etc.)
But when I click on these wrong shown tools, the tools of "Insert" become active. (Only the 'surface' doesn't react)
Well, I see always the Home-tools. All the other tools aren't displayed to me, but they work (if u know where they are, you can guess and click and hope you hit the right one )
I am trying to use the Faces Editing drop-down box, and in my book it lists the options as Taper Faces, Move Faces, Copy Faces, Offset Faces, Delete Faces, Rotate Faces, Color Faces.
All it shows are Taper, Extrude and Offset.

I try to freeze layer in ACAD LT 2013 from Layer-II toolbar menu but it is not working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a student version of Maya 2012 on my home computer so I didn’t have to work from college for a project, but I have run into some issues.
Not sure what is going on with my Maya but it won't open files unless I actually go to it in the browser and double click on the file. Even once I have done that I can only save over it, save as doesn't work. I also can't create or set projects. There are probably more problems but these are the ones I noticed/really need.
This is what appears in my output window:

I have autocad civil 3d 2008 in my pc. From last 2 days I got a different problem i.e. when I am selecting open / save command from File menu graphical file select explorer is not opening just message in the command window . Previously I used to select files using graphical file explorer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen selecting a sub menu from within a main drop down menu the arrow points to the right but the actual sub menu pops up on the left in most cases. I have only noticed this recently and wonder if I have inadvertently messed up a setting as in the past I cant recall this being so but I don't use the editor a lot so may be mistaken.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen working in CS2 about every 10 minutes or so i'll go into my menu bar and it's locked up. No menu's drop down. The toolbox and all the tools and all keyboard shortcuts work but that's it. When I click on file, edit, etc. nothing happens. I have to ctrl+s and close Photoshop. A real pain in the ass. Adobe was no help so I'm reaching out to all you good people. My system is clean is any viruses, spyware and ad ware. I have no other problems of any kind and I'm working with small files (avg. 2 megs) with plenty of RAM (512 MB)
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm taking the Basics training coarse and while doing exercises something changed in my Open and Save preferences. As far as I know I didn't do anything to make the change. It used to be when I clicked on the "Open File" button a window with a visual tree would open on screen and I could visually go through my files, opening sub folders until I found the file I wanted. The "save" and "save as" buttons worked the same.
Now, instead of the window with visual map, I get a command line where I'm asked to type in the destination and name of the file.
I am having problems using the publish command in Autocad 2013. The command works fine in 2010. I am able to plot normally in 2013. As you can see from the attached screenshots my settings are the same in both versions. The command freezes up during plotting of the second drawing in any group.
View 4 Replies View Relatedit seems to only be doing this on 50 x 0 in 72dpi unnamed (not given an extension yet) pictures!!! every time I have a picture of that size and I bring down ANY menu (such as 'edit') it causes Gimp to be unstable and freeze and I lose EVERYTHING in ALL pictures I have up after closing the nonresponsive process!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been running dual monitors (22" and a 18") for a while, but I just upgraded to a larger second monitor (now both 22"). Before, I left AutoCAD running in the main monitor, but now I've switched it to run in the second monitor instead. Now AutoCAD will not remember the position or size of the Open and Save dialog boxes while it is in the second monitor. Sometimes it throws them back into the main monitor and other times they show up in the second but without the resize I did previously.

I have lost the drop down menu at the top of the screen that should read: file/edit/view/insert/format/tools/draw/dimension/modify/window/help
how I can find it to get it back? I have reloaded my installation cd and it aint there.
Is there any way to edit these underlined letters "hotkeys" in the inventor drop down menus? Having to add lots of leader lines and such to multiple weld symbols get old. Or is there a way to make a key alias to do this? I have not been able to find where this is done in inventor. Ive done it many times in CADD.

The rest of my computer is fine everything works properly but CAD is frozen and when i bring my pointer into the program it disappears. I can even open cad up again and the old CAD will stay open. It shows the drawings i have open on the tab bar and i can’t close out of them. I have a computer that’s more than capable to work properly.

View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to hatch a larger area, my AutoCAD 2013 program freezes and I need to close the program and restart it, losing anything I hadn't saved prior to the freeze. In addition, certain areas won't hatch because the program is telling me I have open boundaries which is not the case.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEverything works fine until the center of my cursor passes over a 3d solid, the cursor then disappears, the spinning circle icon spins for sometimes minutes, and the display greys over, and I cannot click 'ESC' or Ctrl + C to abort this cycling. I have to wait, sometimes 30 secs, sometimes 2 minutes for it to stop freezing and the screen returns to normal.
As I work in 3d solids a lot, this makes Acad 2013 unusable to me. Acad 2007 was not an issue with this problem I still have it installed as I have to revert back to 2007 to do anything with 3d solids in it.
How can I get the drop down menu of previously input data to come back? I was here on a previous computer so I assume its something in the part catalog or part builder?

How to freeze a specific layer inside a block within the viewport?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe problem is when I select a solid, autocad freezes for about a minute. After that minute, I can execute a command. During that minute of inactivity, I can use anyother program or part of windows normally with no apparent degradation. If I click in an autocad window, toolbar,etc, all the open autocad windows cloud over and the cursor turns to a spinning cursor. Outside of an autocad window the cursor is normal. This is how it works in the noun/verb process, grip editing. However, if a command is issued first, then the selection of solids is instantaneous. The solid(s) are appropriately highlighted and everything proceeds normally in the verb noun approach.
I have played with a variety of suggested performance settings in windows and in autocad. I have updated the graphics drivers so I always have the latest version. I have a quadro fx 3700, 16gb ram, and 2.5 tb of disc space.
I recently reinstalled Revit architecture 2011 and now I am unable to save any work. When I save or save as, Revit simply freezes. If I hit esc it returns to a functioning status without saving. It is a Network License on single license server, if that makes any difference.

- very very very often freeze on File/New...
- very often freeze on File/Save for Web...
I bought update from CS5.5 to CS6 but at this moment Ai CS6 is absolutely unusable for me. I'm back to Ai CS5 and everything works ok. How is possible that older version works like a charm on Mac OS X 10.8.1 on Mac Pro (Early 2008) than never version CS6?
