i have some overlapping lines which are in different layers. i want to clean them up, but wants the cleaned line to be remained in a specific layer. Can i know or change which layer will the cleaned line be remained in?
or can i simple select the duplicate line instead of deleting them?
I have a very large and complicated file from a civil engineer with way more information in it then I need. I want to pull layers I need out of the civil dwg and into a new dwg.
A few problems with the civil dwg are, all lines not in same x/y plane, everything not at 0,0,0, layers need to be combined, layers need to be purged, etc
Would just copy and pasting the layers I need into a new file be a good way to approach this?
I've mapped a grid onto a sphere. The latitude lines look fine. But the vertical longitude lines come out wiggly!
I've tried different sizes of the grid graphic. I've tried rendering preference quality and rendering the file.
I often draw freehand onto a piece of paper and then scan the completed sketch, to change size and clean up sketch lines and then re print...I've recently tried pant.net and i was wondering if there is a tool that cleans up extra sketch lines? as most of my designs are basically tattoo designs, i need to make sure the lines and everything is perfect before taking them to a tattoo artist?

I am looking to turn these lines into clean, solid lines, of one uniform color, for use in another program which relies on completed loops and no breaks in lines.
I've tried tools such as Trace Contour, but this isn't doing quite what I'm looking for. I'm very new to Photoshop, so I'm hoping there is something I am missing. Something like the magnetic lasso would work wonders, if only I could brush that line instead of making a selection.

Okay. So our designer is using autocad 2013. He is using a pc and he is sending me the files (i'm on a mac) and the thinest lines do not show or print. But, they print/show on a pc! I need to be able to print these. I've searched the web and found nothing.

Lines are always missing when I print especially medium to thin lines or hidden lines or for example hatch tile lines. I use the plotter also on a pc and there are no problems at all. I changed the thickness of my lines in ctb and still have lines missing. I change percision to 1 and same thing. If I print draft, normal or best I still have problems. I know how to spool and use in built memory on pc but can not find something similar on the mac and dont know if that will work, as i printed same drawings from pc. It seems that when there are close lines together or dense lines in an area, it just skips them.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI started a drawing for a project, and so far I don't have much information in the drawing. I created a few objects, then went to one of my Layout pages and created a viewport to view the objects, and bam - some of the lines are missing (the yellow objects). As you can see on the screen grabs, I hovered over the Model tab to prove they're still there. Even when I double-click inside the viewport to edit through it and try to grab the objects, they're apparently gone. But they're not, they show up in the Model tab.
The layer they're on is turned on, thawed, and unlocked, but every object in that layer is missing when I leave the Model tab. I've opened viewports on other Layout pages, and they all refuse to show the yellow lines.
[URL] When I use a point on an existing geometry as reference to place a new line or shape, I get a strange result when attemting to move either geometry.
As you can see in the video the two shapes will BOTH move when only ONE is selected.
Also, it seems that the shape/ lines that are not selected but still move are anchored somewhow which causes distortion.

I have a problem drawing straight lines. Normally, like everyone, I will start from any given point and the line i wish to draw will snap to 0, 90 or 180 degrees. However there is now no snapping and no straight lines.
I have tried resetting SNAPANG to 0 (it is already set to 0) and this works for maybe the next 3 lines but then I am back to square one and cannot draw a straight line without constantly having to reset SNAPANG.
I've tried resetting USC to world. I've also tried changing PLAN to view and world.
I keep trying to draw a line by bearing and distance using the format @50.00'<N80d04'30''E. Everything enters but when I enter the last command of the bearing and hit enter it stays in the red boxed outline and does nothing. Upgraded to 2014 and trying to get things set for drawing property boundaries. Tried setting the units to surveyors mode and such but nothing works.

I'm trying to modify a surface I built from drill hole data of a cavern by deleting unwanted triangles from it. Everytime I select the delete lines command it tells me I need to have the triangles displayed for the surface, and they are displayed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I initiate the trim command with a double enter (i.e. select all mode), I usually first zoom into the area I want to trim so I see no other objects, then start the trim <Enter><Enter> option, then pick the lines I want to trim. Even if these extend off the screen and cross other objects (not seen on the screen), they usually trim off completely. However, on occassion they don't. To replicate the problem try this:
Draw 2 vertical lines and 2 horizontal intersecting (like noughts and crosses)Draw a horizontal line that intersects both vertical lines but up near the top of those linesZoom in so you only see the square and extending lines (but not the short horizontal line)Trim <Enter> <Enter> and pick from bottom right to top left (i.e. around the squareZoom out.
The square is trimmed, however there are 2 line fragments left above the horizontal short line.
Fix: UndoTrim the same way and presto, it now works I found if I then moved the line above (so only a small amount), zoomed in again, tried to trim - same error.
I need to divide a big region on lines intersections. imagine that you create a region around a chess table and break the region so you get each square as a new region.
I can't use array because the sub-regions aren't regular. I need this divided regions to export a DXF file to a Finite elements program.

I'm working with floor plans from another company, the drawing contains xref for the floor plans and other blocks. I need to label some of our equipment. I'm simply using a DTEXT label inside a rectangle as a block with the text as an atribute.
I'd like to place the label on the floor plan and have it hide anything underneath. I do this with 3D blocks for other work, but I'm looking for a quick and dirty solution.
I am using 2013 and have a few 3D objects in the modeling space that I am using view base to put different views of each into the paper space. When I do this and export to PDF, I get an extra green line from the paper space. I have deleted and replaced the view and have tried different views with varying sucess.
Some pieces simply need a different view, however I have one that will not go away. The different view does really solve the problem either because I need the view with the problem. I have attached a picture of the issue, but it is just a chunk to protect information that I cannot share. The gray in the drawing is the part, the green line should not be there. The green line only shows up on the PDF, not in modeling space or paper space.
