AutoCAD 2013 :: Associating Drawing To Project Error
Aug 27, 2013
I have created a new data shortcut project folder, i have the data shortcut set to the drive & the correct project, yet i cannot associate the drawing to the project. Even when I do attempt to set it to the correct project, it will not register. I have tried the "associate current dwg to project", as well as the "associate multiple dwgs to projec"t, yet it will not recognize it at the top of the screen.
Windows 7 Professional
64-Bit Intel Xeon 3.30GHz 8.00GB RAM
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014
When using the Associate Project to Current Drawing or Associate Project to Multiple Drawings command(s) where does this association data get stored? When using the Multiple Drawings option I do not see the save time/date being modified on the individual DWG's.
I also do not note any file being modified under the shortcut working folder which would contain associated drawing names. How does C3D "know" what project a file is associated with?

I get an error every time I open any drawing after it has been saved in 2013. Opening a dwg that was created in an earlier version does not give the error, but after I save it in 2013, it does.
If I create a new dwg in 2013, save it, close it and then open it I don't get the error the first time. But then if I save that dwg again, I will get it the next time I open it.
The exact error is:
One error was found in the drawing file during open. Would you like to cancel this open?It is recommended you cancel the open and run the RECOVER command on the drawing file.
I run the recover command. It says it found, fixed, and erased 1 error. I save, close, and reopen the drawing and the error still appears every time.
Users using Windows 7 -64bit with Architecture 2014
Mapped drives are used for both site to access NAS, but use different drive letters.
At one point working the projects, users starting getting fatal errors opening from the share. All attempts to get past this failed and I thought the drawing or base files were corrrupt. However, when the files are moved locally to workstation and opened without issue. The users in one office are now working off this files using UNC \serverproject...
The interesting thing, is that users in the other office have no issues dealing with these drawings using on the NAS. The only difference is the WAN and drive mapping letter. This is how they have always worked and never had this issue. The only other thing I will add is they upgraded from 2010 two months ago, but no problems with any other projects.
I have to set up a project in Navigator so we can get started on it but I will have to go back and change the project number when we get it.
My question is how do I change the project no so that it re paths everything and reorganizes itself numerically in Windows Explorer...or should I just create a new project in Navigator and copy the files I need into the new project?
We just installed 2014 on two work stations and saved a few Civil 3D files with it. When we try to open these Civil 3D drawings in 2013 they crash with a FATAL ERROR.
The last few lines on the command line shows: Loading Modeler DLLs.
Modeling Operation Error: Operation unsuccessful.
Modeling Operation Error: Operation unsuccessful.
This error seems to only happen with drawings that have infill grading. I tested it with a drawing with just poly lines and it worked fine. I then converted those poly lines into feature lines using 2014 and it opened fine in 2013. I then added an infill to the feature line region in 2014 and it crashes in 2013.

I want to use a lofted solid as a component in an assembly. I am using a top-down approach with 2D blocks to get the kinematics right before creating the components.
My problem is that the sketches needed to create the loft are on workplanes, and those workplanes are fixe with respect to an absolute coordinte system.
Is there a way to assosiate workplanes with a block instead, so that they will move with the part?
Is it possible that the problem is trying to do this in a part file, and that if I place the finished solid in an assembly it will then be able to move? ( I am fairly new to Inventor.)
I am trying to create a fixture, and there are many components that need to be bolted on. Rather than measuring each and every hole on many different pieces, I tried editing the components that parts will bolt to and did this:
I used Copy Object to copied mating surfaces of components that will bolt on, and made sure that the Associative box was checkedI started a new Sketch, and projected the object's surface into the sketchI created a Hole feature based on the sketch with projected edges from the copied objectWhen I moved the (Copy Object) part in the assembly, the cross part association failed, and the result is seen in the attached picture- the holes do not line up with the copied surface. When the error came up, a solution was to make the feature Associative.
In another test, not moving the part but simply changing the geometry the second part feature updated properly.
i"m trying to use architecture 201. I'm getting booted out of the software when I try to select a file using Project Navigator. as soon as I hover over the file name it kicks me out.
I found a weird thing with the command 'Project Cut Edges'. I'll explain what I did. I made a new part and added a derived part. This derived part consists of 2 beams (see top left picture in attachment) (these beams are NOT Content Center parts, but I drew the beams myself, so it would be the same if I drew just rectangles as beams). The beams are at a specified distance of each other (see top right picture in attachment). I added a sketch on the YZ Plane and clicked on 'Project Cut Edges' (see bottom left picture in attachment). I added a rectangle and extruded the rectangle. But if I click on the 'Project Cut Edges' item in the browser under Sketch (or I open the Sketch), not all the lines are there anymore. And if I make the distance between the beams smaller, the lines get shorter too (and vice versa).
I am trying to deploy my DLL and during compilation , I got the below error.

Anyway to disassociate a drawing from a shortcuts project? I have a drawing that I want to use in class to show people how to create data shortcuts but since it's already associated with a project, it doesn't work quite as simple as I would like it to.
Since upgrading to X6 Windows will not recognise CorelDRAW as being compatible with EPS files, what I mean is when going to "Open With" CorelDRAW is not listed, and even when I browse for it, select the program file it still won't recognise it.
I've raised a support case which advised me to associate EPS in teh Tools->options->global which I have done but it makes no difference.
I am trying to share an assembly with some design accelerators and content center files and it seems to be not possible. I changed the directory of the application>file>content center to the same location on both PC but it is still not working.
I'm starting a lighting audit project, and I'd like to create a better scene, instead of relying on libraries.
Lighting software is using .scr files. Therefore, I'd like to know if is there any way for me to create a spot-on 3d room in CAD, and converting everything into a .scr file to be read.
Attached is a .txt (forum doesn't like the .scr) library model that roughly resembles my object of study (varying dimensions).
I have an assembly that was created on 64 bit version of Inventor 2013, the total file size of everything is around 150MB. Even if I use 'Pack and Go' to move the file to another computer running the 32 bit version I get an error when I try to open it which says something like:
'unable to allocate 3GB memory for FBAttributeSegment'
The actually figure is over 3GB but of course on a 32 bit version of windows it is physically impossible to allocate that amount of memory (even with the /3GB in boot.ini hack)
I've performed various dynamic simulations as well as animations within the assembly so I'm thinking that perhaps its trying to allocate that huge amount of memory for a saved state of one of those.
What FBAtributeSegment might be and whether there is any special way to save an assembly to avoid this problem? The name FBAttributeSegment doesn't correspond to any part or assembly names.
I should also add that I have no problem opening it in a 32 bit version of Fusion which again suggests to me that it is something like simulation or animation that is causing this
why when i want to import file sketchup by type "IMPORTSKP" in commadline box, i can't import file sketchup into autocad because AutoCad Error Aborting and fatal error, and after that my autocad suddenly closed by it self, so i can't use my auto cad.
In ACAD 2013, everytime I try to sync my settings to "the cloud", the pull down menu reads "Customization Syn - Error". I am signed in OK to Autodesk 360. Stand alone 64 bit installation on a single machine.
I could not print, save, make any changes to one particular drawing which was created ion Autocad 2013. Whenever I tried to work on the file attached error message pops up and Autocad program gets closed.
i get the following error msg "an autodesk product failed to send the required value for UPITOKEN. the error report sent to autodesk may be incomplete." and then another one also come "FATAL ERROR: unhandled e06d7363h exception at 75b19617h". then finally close.
When I search in content explorer it work just fine but when I click on a drawing to open it acts like its opening but right at the end it says Error Decrypting Data and wont open I've tried to look for a solution and I cant find anything.
I want to make a dll from a sample project by selecting one as an existing project in visual studio 2010. My attempts get me to an empty file folder. How can I do it correctly?.
Recently upgraded to Civil 3D 2013 and drawings opened up fine. Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. Is there a setting somewhere that has been changed? I noticed after a windows 7 update was preformed.
I have this heavy issue, i can't send to back a line, an object or a hatch under other lines. In 2012 i used this feature a lot but in 2013 it's not working very much, maybe 1 time out of 10 and i absolutely can't say why.
HPDRAWORDER = 1 seems to work with a new hatch.. but i can't redraw everything.
Let's say i put an entire floor plan into block then draw over it. (I don't want to start a Xref discussion please) i can't send the entire bloc to the back.I used to do that with 2012, 2008, 2007.. but it's 2013 it's not working, is there a way to correct that?
