View 6 RepliesI have AutoCAD LT 2014 and i have a drawing that i attached a picture to and have a few hatches over. When i go to PDF it and print the drawing it has green lines throughout and not just on the part of the attachment but over the entire page. How do i get rid of these? I dont see them in AutoCAD
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been having a drawing problem at work lately on Autocad 2007. Some lines I draw cannot be filled so I have to trim them instead. The reason why is that these lines are not coplanar. I've also noticed that the Z coordinate is not 0 and have checked on the 3d View that lines are awfully not in the same plan. Does it have to do with the X-line?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn the ANSI-large, the default title block in the ANSI drawing template, when i edit the title block i see green lines which might use for aligning text. they disappear when i finish editing.
They are on a layer that's: By Standard (title ANSI). The rest of the lines are black and are on the title ANSI layer. What's this By Standard prefix? What are they and how to make them?
I wonder if there is a way to get an intersecting point coordinate of two polylines(lines) programmatically.
For example, like in the below sample picture, I need to get coordinates of the points in the red cycles.
Is there any method that I can easily use?
Could I get a sample code snippet that computes the coordinates? (in C# & ObjectARX 2010 if possible?)
I've looked up "Through the Interface" and this disscussion group. couldn't find any useful yet.
I have a problem with premiere pro cs6 every time I export my video I get weird green lines on the left and bottom sides of my video. I'm working with different aspect ratios and frame rates in my timeline but I heard thats ok. This has been a pain since every thing is ok only the green lines on the edge of my video ruin my viewing experience.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe have a new PC set up, and the user is trying to draw a line, starting from point 0,0,0. AutoCAD won't let him draw a line from that coordinate.
How do we get AutoCAD to draw from the BASE coordinate? Is there a new switch that's messing this up?
It strikes me that there should be an easy way to do this, but it eludes me at the moment. I've used "Connect to Data" to attach a .shp file export from another software, specifically a Windmill computer model. The geometry and data comes through, but the table contains no coordinates, which is what my vendor wants. The drawing overlay's georeference info very closely (within our tolerances) and the Coordinate System is set.
How to suck that coordinate info off the drawing without spending a week clicking on each of 8600 points and typing LIST?

2 I know how to export drawings to a .shp file but how can I export this drawing to a .shp file and ensure that coordinate system is maintained or otherwise changed for use in Arch GIS?
I have successfully exported the .shp file geometry previously but the cordinates system doesn't seem to match ARCGIS data sets. I am trying to establish is this an Autocad or ArchGis issue I suppose.
I received the attached drawing file "A" from a surveyor that was created in an earlier version of AutoCAD (approx 2000). The attached drawing is rotated so that the view in Model Space shows the cross-hairs with north pointing northwest. There are points included within the drawing that do not match the coordinates of the surveyed points within the attached ascii text file. I would like to rotate the drawing so that the points match the coordinates in the ascii file and North follows the y-axis.
I have imported the points from the ascii text file into a new drawing file "B". I external referenced (overlay) the new drawing file B into drawing A. I tried moving all of the objects in the drawing file A (with MOVE) to a known point coordinate and then rotating (ROTATE) the objects to two known points. I don't know how to select all of the objects in drawing A and not the external reference in drawing B so that I may Rotate only drawing A objects.
How to move and rotate the surveyors drawing A so that I may match the coordinates in the ascii text file.
I'm inserting a data link from excel into my CAD drawing and every time I try to select the table it brings in, the corner "grips" the green plus signs, are so huge they are bigger than my sheet and I can't see anything in the table. Any way to shrink them to a rational size?
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing 2011 with a PDF underlay. When the drawing is plotted as a PDF and the new PDF is opened, parts of the PDF portion of thew drawing are green. Changing the transparency, contrast, fade etc. of the underlay hasn't worked. I don't want to save the PDF underlay as an earlier PDF version because I'm snapping to parts of the underlay.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCad 2012, with CADDUCT. On my runs of duct that go vertical, I like to stack my tag numbers beside the riser in order, so our installers can easily identify the order without a ton of section views. I am trying to figure out a macro that will do numerous things. Since my tags come out at different rotation angles, I would like to do the following commands.
Rotate object text "TAG #" to 0 degrees
move object text "TAG #" to "Snap from" & "snap insert" 6" below the tag above it
I want the numbers to align by their insert locations up and down the page, and exactly 6" on center vertically from one another. The tag numbers have a node justified to the center up and down of the text.
When opening the uv editor when I select the model polys, I have green lines running around the object. I'm guessing these are mapping seams automatically generated? but I'm not sure. I'm trying to add my own so rather than delete the green ones, I'd like to add to them.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi am doing a simple project making a survey plot for a piece of land that will be broken into subdivision. all measurements are of my starting point. after plotting the starting point i try to draw line that is 113 feet long and at a bearing of N 5d W i have no problem entering this data but when i hit enter it draws a straight line. now i know 5 degrees is much of an angle so i thought maybe it just looked straight and tried to plot the next point which was 542 feet from the last point at a bearing of N 39d E but once again after i put the info in and hit enter or space it would plot a line of the proper length but vertical, not the proper angle i need it at. here is how i would put in the info:
first i choose the lne command and choose my "beginning point" as that starting point for my line then i type 113<N 5d W for the length and direction and hit enter. when i do this it plots a vertical line of the proper length but wrong angle. what am i doing wrong? i have ortho set to off and idk what else to mess with
I was trying for an option with wipeout mask.
Is there any option with wipeout to turn the continuous lines into dotted lines instead of hiding the object? I have been working on one staircase block, i want to show half block as a dotted lines.. is there any way to do that without going in to the block edit and change? thats why am looking for wipeout mask option.
I've attached a leaf image. We'd like to "Autumnize" the leaf even more and remove the green from the leaf. I've tried playing with the various options in the Color drop down (Color Balance, Hue Saturation, Colorize, Brightness-Contrast, Threshold, Levels, Curves), but I can't seem to do it.

I want to know how to transform OCS Coordinate of A block object to UCS or WCS Coordinate .
It's Block's OCS Coordinate not other objects.

why my UCS keeps giving me these lines attached to my UCS. It not only attaches here but also on each of my Objects. It slows down the computer and the only way I can seem to get rid of them is by shutting down the program and reopening. Is there a quicker/more efficient way of fixing this issue?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a drawing with hatch that I would like to print in color not in grayscale. I have used dwg to PDF for many other plots and have not had an issue, but they were all in grayscale. With this dwg when I plot to PDF, the PDF writes lines into the drawing that do not exist in autoCAD. If I plot from AutoCAD the lines do not appear and I did not draw the lines in the dwg file. However, when I plot from the PDF it plots with additional lines all over the drawing. Is this because I am plotting in color and some of my layers have the transparency set for around 45?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs more and more clients, subs, etc., etc are requesting pdf's more and more often, the issue of "lines merge" vs. "lines overwrite" (and therefore, pdf "flattening" when printing a pdf) is becoming more of a topic of discussion in our office.
I know we're not the only office making pdf's that have to be "flattened" (thereby taking a huge amount more of time to print) when sending to a printer.... but not *all* pdf's we receive need to be flattened so there are some offices that don't have to deal with this issue.
The question is this:
If you use lines merge = on in your autocad, do you have a way to get pdfs that don't need to be flattened? (printing to dwf then pdf is not a reliable option either, as that does not consistantly honor the lines merge feature between dwf/pdf either)
If you don't use lines merge then how do you set up your drawings to allow for easy draworder handling? (and do you use solid hatching patterns in your drawings, which we rely on alot)
We are currently in the transition to Annotative Annotation (Dims, Text, etc.).
One obstacle that i have not been able to overcome are graphical elements where I need their thickness to adjust to the viewport scale. Graphic elements like (MatchLines, Property Lines, Limit of Work and Set Backs) these all have thickness to display prominently in our drawings.
Currently we are making duplicate copies of these lines and adjusting thier thickness but this defeats the purpose of having annotative lables etc.
I would like an annotative line with a thickness.
Ex. a 12" thick line thru a vport with 1/8" scale will print at 1/8" but the same line thru a vport at 1/16" will print at 1/16".
We would like the the line to maintain it's printed thickness (1/8") no matter the vport scale.
I have tried using the Line Width Display but that just makes a mess...obstructs the dwg when zoomed out, rounds the end of dashes etc.
On 2012 and have run into a problem with curved lines...all curved lines circles etc. The intial draw properly but later when I go back to that portion of the drawing they are converted to rough lines...not a curve anymore segments of straight lines...cant seem to prevent if from happening.
