AutoCAD 2010 :: Unable To Get Certain Linetypes To Start With Same Dash Length
Jul 24, 2012
I can not get certain linetypes to start with the same dash length, see attached. The linetype will start with a longer dash then the stated length, depending on the length of the pline segment. Is there a way to fix this?
Here is the code for one of the linetypes highlighted:
We have a problem in our office. In some of our drawings we keep getting a lot of unwanted linetypes and text styles. Nobody is sure where they originated.
We have tried this method in getting rid of them but it doesnt work. [URL]
4. chckdsk for error and fix.still error so I've gone through this.
5. I uninstall Autocad 2014 completely, uninstall it manually one by one, deleted left over folder of autodesk or similar software to it, deleted its registry keys.just like the instruction on how to remove autocad completely in autodesk, I just followed it all. [after Reboot]
I have tried changing the linetype several different ways. I have manually changed the linetype and I have also changed the linetype for that particular layer, and nothing happens. I can change the color of the line, but when I try to change the linetype or weight it will not change.
why I am unable to see the linetypes properly when the LT scale is set.
For example a dashed line drawn in model space with the LT scale set at 48 normally shows a correct spacing between the dashes. It worked fine this morning, but for some reason it does not show properly this afternoon, and is a continuous line.
No matter what I seem to do, I can't get the line to show up as dashed. I "regenall", set the lt scale to 1, then back to 48, set the psltscale to 0 then to 1 (just for kicks). I've exited the drawing and come back to it, and still the result is the same.
That's just one name and there is over a hundred similar ones! Maybe the name is too long for ACAD to handle?
Things I've tried.
wblock selected to new .dwg audit, purge and audit, purge again. Copy and pasting into blank template. Step 2. 10+ years in AutoCAD and haven't came accross this before.
Got a great LISP from Lee Mac to steal layers, dimensions and Text styles from the drawing. As long as I didn't take in the Linetypes I was fine. This LISP does a whole lot more than the things described above.
Is there any way to have 3d polylines show a linetype? I need to have my contours that are created as a 3d polyline show up as a hidden linetype. These polylines came from an aerial mapping and have lots of vertices.
Today I noticed 6 or 7 linetypes that have appeared in every drawing I open and cannot be deleted.
They include "Amzigzag" " Amconstr" "ACISOTGB" and others.
If I delete everytjing in my drawing and purge the linetypes are still there. They even appear if I load old drawings that din't have these linetypes initially.
For some reason all of my linetypes have disappeared, and even when I go to Load, there are no options. The only linetypes available are lines and dashed lines, and I have a fence linetype but it does not show the circular pattern in the fence. How can I get these back?
Ok over the years here they currentley have lots of differnt custom linetypes scattered over lots of drawings. What I am trying to achieve is to drive some standardization here
So what i want to do is create a series of standard drawings with various custom linetypes
So using design centre i can drag and drop linetypes into a standard drawing but what i really want to do is export these custom linetypes into a .lin file
I have a drawing that have blocks in them I cant find inserted. I cant purge them or the linetypes they have. How do I strip them out if I cant find them to explode them?
If I start autocad and draw a line then change its linetype from continuous to Fenceline2 it shows up like it's supposed to, a line with small squares in it. I can also change it's linetype to Fenceline1 and the linetype shows up just fine with the line and small circles in it.
But when I call up some existing autocad drawings that have lines with the Fenceline1 or Fenceline2 linetypes assigned to them, the small boxes or circles are missing from the linetypes. When you type linetype at the command prompt the linetypes are listed in the dialog box, but for some reason they are not showing up right in the existing drawing. When I type linetype, and hit the load button, and browse to my acad.lin file and select it, I get an error message of Bad Definition for linetype Fenceline1 and another for Fenceline2 and another for Batting etc.
So why are these Complex linetypes not working in the Existing drawing but work fine in the just call up autocad empty drawing, and how do I fix them to work in the existing drawing?
We recieved some drawings from a client for updating. The Pneumatic, System Link and Heat Trace lines all show up solid in the drawings when I open them up in AutoCAD 2012. We tried opening them in AutoCAD 2004 and are experiencing the same issue. In the Linetype Manager menu, under Description, the linetypes appear correct. Under Appearance, Heat Trace and Pneumatic appear solid and System Link appears dashed (just as they do in the drawing itself).
Here's the kicker. A co-worker has AutoCAD 2004 on his laptop and everything shows up and plots out just fine.
I created some custom linetypes. When I copied them over to my drawing, the text in the linetypes came in extemely large. I really need to get this figured out as I am setting up a template for a new customer, and they want all these included.
I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, plotting to HP 4500 DesignJet. If I attempt to plot an oversized map the plotter either spits out a blank page or says it plotted the map and no map prints. We have another machine running Vista 64 bit and Map 3D 2011 and it is able to plot just fine. Another machine is running XP and Map 2008 and can plot fine.
I have updated plotter drivers, settings, and I have tried plotting off several .pc3 configurations all ending with the same result. As of right now when I need to plot large maps I have to send an e transmit to my other machine in order to plot, which just isn't going to work.
recently our Autocad LT 2013 has started giving out the "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00007b)" error randomly on program launch. Thinking SP2 would fix it, i tried installing through autocad, but after it says transferring, nothing happens and everything closes and this box comes up. If I go and get the update package and install it manually, i get the same error. This machine is running windows 7 pro x64 and I have already tried a repair, and full uninstall/reinstall.
I was already upgrade my laptop to windows 8.1 preview 64-bit,I have this only one error when was start my cad application autodesk inventor pro 2014 student version.
AutoCad LT2009 has been running on my windows 7 computer for 3 years but now I get the message "The application was unable to start correctly(0xc0150002). Click OK to close the application." I have Google surched the application error message and found one reference to a similar but different numbered message for AutoCad LT which suggested down loading Microsoft Visual C==2010 Redistributable package (x86) and (x64) but neither of them worked.
In 2008, never had this issue.Just dumb, circles, and lines in a view port, that have hidden or center linetyoes assigned to them. When we go to plot using legacy hidden (this new for 2012?) the plot comes out with continuous lines. These are not solids. Just ordinary line entities. Now, when I change the shadeplot to "hidden" the linetype is shown correctly, but now my entities are coloured, when I just want my drawing to be black and white (going to PDF), even though all of the colours in the pen style are set to "Black".
Has this changed? Is there a new variable introduced?
I've installed R2014 Suite, but I’m unable to Migrate Settings from the Start Menu after rebooting.I have both R2012 and R2013 installed on this computer. The Migrate Setting Tool doesn’t think I have a previous release installed – Error Message3.Then when I open R2013 (not R2014) and try it, I get Error Message4.
How to get the individual polyline length of the entire drawing as per the name of the line written against him in the excel sheet. That would prepare the Bar bending schedule quickly.
If it is possible to set a fixed length to a "Hose" hanging from one point to another? So that when hang-off point's are adjusted (any direction) the hose act pursuant to the fixed length.
Round off of the value (length) of an inserted field, I wanted to make a round off for the field value that represents the length of a line but sounds that there is no option to do so.
For example:
the 2568 will be rounded off to be 2570
the 2563 will be rounded off to be 2565
This option is available for the dimension objects and wondering why it not offered for the inserted fields.
Is there a way to show the last number of the dimension length as 5 or 0?I want to show the unit in mm with precision (decimal places) equal zero such that the and to force the last number as 5 or zero
For example, I need to display the 7554 mm as 7555 and the 7558mm as 7560.
I must have changed a setting and now I cannot figure out what I did.
On AutoCad at school, when drawing a line, there is a light blue dialogue box that would pop up above the cursor telling you the length of the line before you set it. (not the coordinates).
This is not showing up on the educational version of AutoCad I am running at home.
