When I grip-select an image, or pick it at the "select objects" prompt, the image hides all other geometry behind it. Troublesome when trying to fine-tune the image(png background) location relative to other entities.
Image transparency on, draworder back, monochrome, image @ 0'-0"Z.
i am haveing trouble with a viewport that is hiding everything that crosses the rectangular border. The viewport is acting just like a wipeout would. I got this drawing from a client and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. I checked to see if there was actually a frame with the viewport but when I select the viewport it only reads as one object.
My modelspace is showing thru my wipeouts... But the wipeouts are active and I have remade the viewports with the same result. I've used draw order with no change. And here's the kicker. It (the Wipeout) hides the viewport frame, but not the actual model space material being shown thru the viewport. It remains visible.
Is it possible to get a selection set for the currently selected geometry? If I use the EditorInput selection functions, the user is asked to select an item, however I want the item(s) that has already been selected prior to running the plugin.
How & where to modify my ''Underlying layers'' for an image I am working on.
The overall project/design is for a t-shirt mock-up template. The whole idea is to make it as realistic looking as possible (photorealistic)
I found a great tutorial (which unfortunately was made for photoshop...) I was to follow it and pretty much apply the instruction to Gimp. However, there is part where the ''Underlying layers'' are being tweeked.
I am able to follow everything up to (4:32) [URL] ...........
I made some basic adjustments in Lightroom and then opened the image as a smart object in Photoshop. If I decide to make more changes in Lightroom how do I tell Photoshop to 'refresh' the underlying image?
So, in max there is a way to turn this off. So that when you select an object the edges are not visible. That way, when you select and object and have a look at it, you do not have to be distracted by the wire frame.
Is there a way to do this is Maya? I'd lke the geo to appear as flat shading without the wireframe visible even when I select it.The reason is, I want to select it, and work on the UV mapping. I'd like to make some changes to the map, and see how they look on the model without having to deselect the mesh each time I make a change and what to see it without the wireframe.
Just recently we upgraded from ACAD 2010 to 2011. Some users are still on XP and some are on Windows 7. Since we began making the jump to ACAD 2011, we have begun to notice more and more drawings popping up with blocks no longer visible that were there the day before. When you go to the block editor, the block definition is still there but all of the geometry has been blown away. The only entity that seems to be immune is an attribute. The only commonality among the various drawings this is happening too is that they are all being accessed from an XP machine. Some folks have had to spend hours restoring all the blocks that were lost and that in itself was a challenge because ACAD already saw the definition so it would continue to blow away the geometry. You could purge the block IF you could find a way to pick it and delete it.
Currently, I am using Inventor to produce inventor DWG drawings for our supplies to read using autocad and trueview etc. One of our suppliers is a laser cutting firm and they need us to produce a seperate DXF file from our inventor drawings (for the flat patterns). As this has to be done manualy and is potentially error prone (as drawings can be automaticallyt updated where as DXF's requre a seperate 'save as' we had hoped to be able to just send the Inventor DWG for them to extract the geometry of the blank using their copy of AutoCad. I noticed that when opening an inventor DWG in autocad, the 'model' contains no geometry and it is placed on a seperate tab called sheet 1 (or whatever the sheet was called in inventor).
Is there any way that this data can be extracted from the DWG so that they may manipulate the geometry?
Is it possible to have model space geometry print through a watermark in the layout? My watermark consists of mtext with an arial font placed manually in the layout. It is on it's own layer which is set to print at Shade 40 (plot style tables). Draworder works with other layout objects but not the geometry from the model space viewport. My watermark covers the model space geometry so it is not visible when printed. Is this possible?
All I want to do is trace on top of an x-ref elevation. The x ref hides all my new lines so I cannot see what I've just drawn. Even the display order has no effect, not that I want to use the display order every time I draw a line. I just want my new black lines to show up on top of the faded xref image.
I have done a drawing, and when I try to plot..The printer dialog doesn´t accept any of my installed printers.I have, for example an HP p1102, and when I select it as the printer device, de combo box closes and the selection is automatically changed to "none".
I have searched this issue in the Group, but I haven't seen any post talking about it.
I have a CAD file that will not let me delete layers, get the usual message; "The selected layer was not deleted . . . . ". This is not the current layer, nor is it 0 or Defpoints and I am fairly certain the Layer does not contain objects. As an interesting side note; when running Purge, the Purge zero-length geometry and empty text objects is grayed out. It's not an option.
i am drawing a chamfered-counterbored cylinder... i meet the problem: unable to revolve the selected object ! After i convert the object i drawng to closed Polyline path with the Pedit command, it cant be revolve !
I've been following the Convert 2D to 3D video that is given in the Help section of AutoCAD 2012, and whenever I try to sweep the handle using the same methods that were used in the video it says that it is unable to sweep 1 selected object (when I select the path). I've attached the DWG file.
Also, when I went to use the 3D align feature I did exactly as the video did, but my handle wouldn't align with the side of the mug. It kept lining up with the side but never between the top and bottom of the mug like you'd expect. I kept having to move it to get it down where it needed to be.
I have some lines/plines..Pedit - J, then select my line and once I select the second one the first (last) selection is deselected. I cannot find the answer to this myself on google on here, i'm starting to get paranoid at my in ability to recall any of my AutoCAD working memory.
A non-Group layer can be clipped to an underlying Group, but I was surprised to find that the inverse relationship, i.e. a Group clipped to an underlying layer, is not possible. A workaround is to convert Group to Smart Object then clip the SO to the underlying layer.
I 'm in the middle of our annual Autodesk software upgrades to the 2010 releases. One of my power users is having a problem with Inventor locking up everytime he selects the Annotation Ribbon Panel with an IDW open. I was able to reproduce this problem on the same workstation under my admin account. I tried to repair the installation and that did not work.
His workstation specs are:
Precision T5400 - Xeon Quad Core - 2.66 Ghz 4 Gb RAM 256 Mb Nvidia Quadro FX 570 (Driver 6.14.11.8246) 3D Connexion SpaceNavigator (Version 3.8.1) Windows XP SP3 (32-bit)
in the old autocad that i had for PC there was a command to re-select all selected items by typing P and then enter. I now have 2011 autocad for mac and can not figure out how to do the same thing.
What is the variable that controls the order in which objects are selected? In other words, I want to be able to always select the last object created by default when objects are overlapping without using object cycling.
Whenever I select a block or polyline in 2012, the program hangs for about 1 minute. This never happens when using 2010 on the same system. Obviously this can't continue.
i just installed the 2012 autocad on my laptop and everytime i use trim or rotate or anything else the screen just goes black and the computer freezes for a few seconds and then it comes back and tell me that its trying to adjust the program with the monitor but it never ends and it keeps doing the same thing. btw my laptop specs are: windows7 home premium, intel i5, 6gb ddr3, intel HD3000 graphics.
Layer 2: I then put a black shape over the entire image and set its opacity to 140%, This grays out the underlying background image.
Layer 3: Is it possible now to create a shape like for example a rectangle, which I can move around and resize and change the properties of (for example adjusting the rounding on the corners), which sees through the underlying layer (layer 2)?
I have worked out that I could create a new shape on layer 2 and do "subtract shape" to do the cutting out, but this is not as flexible because that cutout is now committed and I can't adjust it.
I just updated a few of our PS CC users to 14.1. We are all running mountain lion and we all have the same problem. The F5 key behaves just like the "delete" key. In CS6, the F5 key hides/shows the Bru
I set a snap for ease of use, e.g. if my intended output scale is 1:50 I will set my snap to 25, this makes drawing lines fast and simple.
When I used the break command in previous versions (I skipped 2011) the break would keep the snap on so I could break either side of a line with a perfect unit gap.
In 2012 when I select the first point it disregards the snap and just puts the break wherever I select on the line meaning the gap is not neat. Is there anyway to put this back the way it was?
