how to turn off the mouse function when the mouse cursor moves over a feature, such as an edge, point, or surface, and highlights it. I don't want it highlighting the features automatically. I want it to highlight once I click over a feature. My colleagues and I are very distraught by this feature, and will be discontinuing our use of your products that do not allow us to turn this feature off. I'm not sure why you'd want to weed your customer base like this, assuming that I can't turn this option off from the research I've done pouring through the hundreds of complaints related to this issue. I haven't been able to find any posts recently, or regarding Inventor 2013 specificially on this issue, so I was hoping this version had the option of turning it off. Does any of Autodesk's software, such as AutoCAD, have the option of turning it off?
I have recently had my 2007 upgraded to 2010 and I'm finding it annoying that everytime I use the distance command the DYN button turns on and I get too much information on the screen as well as a little box I have to exit everytime. How to keep the DYN button switched off? I'm just happy to have the distance information in the command bar at the bottom.
I am using Illustrator on a Wacom 24HD on a PC, which works quite well, except that as a right handed person, the tooltips, which appear to the right of the mouse cursor, are covered by my hand. Windows (and the Wacom settings) both have a left hand / right hand setting which control where a popup menu appears, however, I do not see anywhere where I can control where the tooltips appear, presumably because this is an Illustrator feature, not a Windows feature. Its particular important for this application because tooltips are used for information (such as size when dragging out new shapes), not just for beginners needing a reminder what a button means. To put the tooltips to the left of the cursor instead of the right?
Since installing Illustrator CS6 I am finding that my mouse jumps around the screen erratically while trying to draw making it almost impossible to use the program. It is particularly bad when I connect to a projector for training purposes. This doesn't happen with any previous version of Illustrator (or any other program for that matter). I know it isn't something as simple as my mouse because I tried several different ones but to no avail.
I am using Illustrator CS6 for Windows on Windows 7 and my problem is mainly on my laptop which is a Dell Vostro 1520.
Illustrator has been having a problem where anytime that I click the mouse down, it starts jumping around the screen, usually to about 2" down and 3" from the left of the screen. This is only in Illustrator though, Photoshop, and any other programs work fine.
I've tried disabling the Logitech driver too,
Running: Pentium D 840 3.2 GHz 3 GB DDR2 667 120 GB SATA Windows Vista Business Adobe Creative Suite CS2
When modeling, I regularly select multiple polys/edges/vertexes/etc., so as to manipulate them as needed. When selecting them, I hold down Ctrl and left-click with my mouse, which is when my issue occurs.I have an extremely annoying tendency to move my selection around a little when I'm in the process of selecting objects - most of the time I notice and undo it, but every now and again, I miss miniscule movements, only to discover later on, that parts of my model is out of alignment.
So, is there any way to disable the mouses' ability to move selections around? I'm more than happy using the gizmos for moving selected objects.
I needed to check some vehicle turning movements against my design, so I started Civil 3d from the AutoTurn icon. As I was working I noticed that I don't have any Tooltips anymore. I've checked the global tooltip settings in the Civil3d settings, and the Autocad options, and also the tooltip settings for individual objects.
I also found that the glyphs which should appear when snaps are turned on aren't visible, although the snaps do work properly. Once I had finished with the vehicle checks I shut down, and then restarted from the Civil3d icon but the behavior hasn't changed back to normal. I've also tried repairing the installation - next step will be a full reinstall.
I've relaunched and tried re-installing Illustrator CC twice and didn't solve this unexpected crash problem. It has never happened since I paid for this software months ago.
Illustrator won't crash when: - using the keyboard arrows to manually move any path or drawn shapes/ objects - using my wireless mouse to draw objects/ new paths from clipboards, colour boards etc.
Illustrator CRASHES when: - using my wireless mouse and macbook's touchpad mouse to move any new or old drawn paths/ objects/ shapes/ lines etc.
In my Opinion - ROOT OF PROBLEM: - Wirelss and macbook's touchpad mouse cursor causees it to hang then crash 1 minute later.
Why would my mouse cursor suddenly be the cause of this crash problem when it was working fine all along?
Below is the error message, I use this software to run my design business.
I would like my rollover tool tip to display the entire name of the surface not just the first 16ish and then go to "..." is there anyway to customize this?
Ever since I got back to my desk after theEaster break I have had an odd problem witj C3d 2012.
The pop up names of the buttons along the bottom (snap, grid, osnap etc) are apparently now in Chinese. Tool tips for other tools are also containing a mixture f what appears to be Chines plus corrupted characters.
4 little helper functions to turn off & on the ToolTips associated with alignments. Handy for when you have a number of nearby alignments and you don't need the constant showing of all the data.
Intended for buttons, actual function names may be shortened for keyboard use.

When i click my mouse to draw the cursor moves up and to the left of the position i started which makes any and all editing impossible. Imagine trying to draw a line but the starting point is a half to a full inch up and to the left of where you wanted the line to start. I've tried a clean install even changed my mouse. doesn't do it it drawx4 only photo-paint x4.
Is there anyway to prevent a corridor from jumping across large distances as in the attached screen shot? There are no targets in any of these regions.
I have problem with corridor surface boundary , in curve boundary line is jumping on daylight fill , but i have created surface on wearing layer ,also when i am adding boundary there is only 3 types of adding , corridor extends , polygon and interactively , photo attached.
when i print somthing out i always find that the printout is in wireframe mode. How do i print the so that it is in ' hidden' mode or anything that is not wire frame. i have tried turning the view to 'hidden' and then using 'display' in the plotting options.
My annotative text moves from its original place when I change my viewport scale. I tried to add the PS scale to my original xref, but when I click on the text, I can't change the "no" to "yes" on the options menu where it says annotative.
I have a marker on a cross section that was projected from a short feature line that I created from a 3DPolyline. If I move the cross section (they never come in correctly, right?), the feature line moves too. If I use a 3Dpoly, this doesn't happen. Only went to the feature line because for some reason, when I went to Project Multiple, the 3Dpolys weren't picked up.
Now I wondering if I've moved feature lines on other projects where I have moved the sections. Could be a real problem. Most of those, though, had a mix of feature lines and 3Dpolys, so they would only be partially messed up! Hopefully, I moved the sections before doing the projection.
I created an assembly with a broken back subassembly. I moved it to a 40cm horizontal offset away from the axis. I attached it to a corridor using two polylines as targets. One for the broken back and one for the outside lane. In civil 2011 everything works fine.
In civil 2012 the ETW is offseted by the same value i moved the subassembly away from the axis! If i change the subassembly offset to eg 1m then when rebuilding corridor the ETW moves to 1m away from the target polyline!
Same strange behavior using subassembly R2011 or R2012.
I just installed Creative Suite CS6 and in Photoshop, when I use the move tool a small popup window shows the mouse coordinates. I can't see any option to turn this off, either in the Options bar or the Preferences.
It is 27 miles of waterline broken into 3 mile segments. The problem is with the profiles that have been cut. The existing ground surface has been sampled along the alignment and multiple profile view made from that alignment. When the alignment changes, the only way that the surface seems to update is to run the "profiles; create profiles from surface command again" at which point it adds a new profile into the profile views reflecting the current surface over the alignment, then the "old" profile must be deleted from the profile views. Everything is set to dynamic, yet certainly is not being very dynamic.
Some what new to Civil 3D, so I hope I explain this correctly..
I imported points with linework and then needed to move them slightly. I unlocked the points and moved them with no problems, but I then went to re-process linework which moves the points back to their original location. I have tried relocking the points first before re-processing linework, but then it appears that nothing has happened.
I want to wrap a logo around a baseball. All I need is the logo to be rendered in 3D, and I will use the Multiply blending mode to use the shading that's already on the baseball. How do I turn off all shading effects in the 3D interface so no additional shading is applied to the sphere the logo is being wrapped around?
When I turn on shadow or realistic mode in 3ds max my model disappears, but it will show in wireframe. How can I fix this? to see it in realistic I have to render it and it comes out fine.
Every time I open a photo from explorer, Lightroom or somewhere else, Elements starts in quick mode. I never want qick mode, I want to use experts mode as default. How can I do this?
Plus, is there a way to get rid of the bar on top completely? It takes up valuable screen space and is completely useless.
