Is there an easy way to remove all the wipeouts in a drawing without deleting the entities they are attached to?
I have hundreds in some drawings, so I am trying to do a mass editing through lisp, but it won't remove just the wipeout, the text grouped with it gets deleted too.
This is what i would like to make a lisp for: if the user gives the number tree the last tree inserted entity's are deleted. If the user gives the number four the last four inserted entity's are deleted.

I am running AutoCAD 2012 Electrical. The source wiring diagrams I am working with have attributed blocks all over the drawing. For my purposes, I dont need to export the data, but I do need to change the drawing. When I use "Burst" or "Explode Attributes to Text" in the Express Tools menu, it does change the attributes to text. However, it throws all the data that is in in the attribute all over the face of the drawing. This is extremely time consuming to delete them as some are micro small text.
I need a command that will explode the attributes to text, turning the blocks into entities, as if there are no blocks at all.
Consider the following situation.
Ortho - ON
Polar - OFF
A line is drawn parellel to the X-axis. What I have been doing all of my career to lengthen this line, by say 3 inches, is select the line, pick the grip I want to lengthen, drag that grip in the general X direction, type the value 3 at the command promt, and hit enter. Voila, done.
Now what AutoCAD is doing, is bringing the grip (yup, ortho is stll on) to exactly where my curser is, totally disregarding the ortho setting AND the value in typing at the comand prompt.
Every-time I try either of these I get windows cannot locate Adobe_lightroom_x64.msi...I copied that file from the installation but lightroom refuses to use it!I tried deleting all the fold files for lightroom and still couldn't remove the program!!!

I've been having a problem with my AutoCAD LT 2010 completely deleting files after I have saved them and closed them. There is no file in the recovery manager, no back up file, nothing. It has happened three times without warning and it always happens to files I've been working on for awhile and have opened and closed multiple times. Is there any way to recover these files and how do I keep it from happening again?

I need a way to automate the process. The duplicates always show up in EATTE and show up most of the time in BATTMAN. View 5 Replies View RelatedI created a command that I no longer use. I actually made a spelling error upon creating it "SUPECLOSE" and I want to delete it.
This is how I created this command: I typed in ALIASEDIT in order to add a new alias to a command.
I then clicked on the "Add" button.
In the "Alias:" field, I typed in "xx"
And in the "AutoCAD Command:" field, I typed in "SUPECLOSE" - which isn't actually an autoCAD command. "SUPERCLOSE" is the command I use to run a custom LISP routine that I created. Upon hitting pressing "OK" to this, AutoCAD prompted me with: "'SUPECLOSE' is a new command, Do you want to add this to your list of commands?"
I said yes. And then shortly afterwards realized the spelling error I had made. Problem is...I don't know how to access this list and delete the new command that I had just created (which does nothing).
I have multiple paper spaces to show a variety of drawings. I currently have my floor plan as a viewport, but I need to delete it in order to add in my elevations. I tried deleting my current viewport, but it also deletes the rest of mine. How do I delete a viewport from only one paper space, so that it does not interrupt with my other drawings?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I insert a drawing from another source as a block into one my drawing - and then explode the block and change the exploded block layers to my layers. Then I purge out the old layers. Normally this works fine, but I have lately had trouble getting rid of some unwanted layers as everytime I have tried, I get the message that they are x-ref dependent and cannot be deleted or purged. I have tried to isolate them by freezing and turning off everything else, but there are no features, entities, "specks" whatever, to erase. I have looked at the xref command, and my drawing shows no rogue xrefs. I am not sure what to do to get rid of these layers.

Is it possible to create a block with a 'mask' or 'wipeout', or whatever ACAD has, that is in the block so that when inserted, it blocks out whatever is behind it? I need to create a sprinkler symbol for a reflected ceiling plan (RCP), but my RCP has a lot of graphic hatching and needs to be blocked out wherever I insert this sprinkler block.
I have forgotten how to wipeout the hatching in back of text!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a rectangular chute, tapering in width and height, and intersecting, at an angle, with a round duct. I can't seem to find a way to determine the cut-out in the round duct.
Because the chute tapers projecting the size onto a flat plane to then project onto the round duct doesn't work.
I re-opened a drawing this morning and found some text to be different height from the rest. When I attempted to adjust all of the heights to be the same using the properties method, they all became bigger. Instead of all of them going to 6", the 5" text went to 6" and the 6" text went to 7-3/16". So, I checked the formatting size and the properties size and they did not match. See PDF.

I have a problem with autocad WS on Autocad 2012, I've used a workstation of a colleague of mine, and I access to some personal drawings thru the "online" tab, unfortunately, when I press the "online drawings" and a popup windows appear to ask my Autocad WS data, I forgot to uncheck the "Remember my data" and now every time I click on "online drawings" it connect to my Autocad WS account.
Is it possible to remove my data from Autocad ? I tried to click on Logout on Autocad WS but it doesn't work.I have several personal drawings on it and I don't won't that my colleagues open or modify them.
I am trying to master cutting out people from backgrounds (especially backgrounds which are a bit complicated - not solid colours). I know there are a number of ways and a number of tools to use, but which is best? The pen tool is great for smooth clean lines, but I struggle with hair and fur on objects. I know there is a more professional way of doing cut outs using Channels and curves and creating a mask.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been using images for my 3D plant models. Many times the leaf has to be cut out from the background. Through painting black and white areas and then removing the black with a layer mask, then left with the leaf.
Many times I get white or a bad outline around the leaf. Not sure if it's from over exposure with the black and white levels before using the mask or just a slightly poor image(or both).
Is it normal practice to do edging by hand manually on these textures for a crisp outline. Or is there just something I'm not doing right.an auto way of outlining the image and edging it somehow??
I find myself needing to put a colour border on a wipe and I can't for the life of me find the option.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is my 3 days of using autocad 2012 3d. I have a basic knowledge in 2d. Attached is the drawing that I am working on. When you open 2.jpg - I want to remove that wall including the window but theres a message appeared that this is 3d solid. When I erase it all of the highlighted lines disappear. But when I am trying to explode all the lines the 3.jpg is view before I explode all the lines the after the 4.jpg is the view after explode. The wall have space in the middle.
How can I remove the wall without affecting the other 3d walls?
