View 3 Replies Is there a way to change the color of sheet set titles and call outs so that the text is not obsured by a 50% grey box? Maybe make the grey a bit darker so the text can stand out..
Our text is yellow and it can be hard to read above the grey...
I'm using PSP 8. What is the easiest way to place call outs, if that's the right term?
Ideally I'd like to be able to select a rounded, shadowed rectangle with the arrow appropriately positioned (top, bottom, left, right) and of adjustable length, insert the text (typically a single letter or number), and then be able to group these so that I could drag the callout into the required position. I might need to place 10 or 20 on each of several maps, so it needs to be very simple and fast.
I've never properly used 'Picture Tubes' although I have a feeling that would be one way to achieve this. But the images built in to PSP 8 do not include any callouts. Maybe it's best done from first principles, making a set of shapes first and saving them (in empty form) as individual files, positioning them and then finally adding the letter/number separately?
Is there command or option for masking the text of a dimension? If not, how to get around this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I try use ' TCOUNT ' with mtext, the numbering increments not by the value I enter (ie 1,1) but rather by the number of lines in the mtext; 3 lines of mtext would count 1, 4, 7, 10, 13...). BUT this only happens if the 'enter' button was pressed to start a new line.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there an easy way to remove all the wipeouts in a drawing without deleting the entities they are attached to?
I have hundreds in some drawings, so I am trying to do a mass editing through lisp, but it won't remove just the wipeout, the text grouped with it gets deleted too.
2012 drawings are not showing multi-leaders, when opened in 2007. We saved the 2012 drawings down to 2004. These same multileaders are not printing either.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe text that we're using for the majority of our notations doesn't look very good at 1.0x scale so I try and adjust the paragraph line spacing to 0.8x as I go. I also know that if I create MTEXT and adjust the paragraph line spacing at the prompt it will "stick". However it doesn't stick for leaders and there's no real way of creating a permanent setting, is there?
Slight inconvenience of adjusting that setting each time I create a leader.
Is there a way to move the tip of the other scale's arrow of an annotative multileader in the model space ?
For exemple, I shifted this tree a little bit to the left. I have a multileader pointing to the middle of it to indicate the tree species. When selecting the multileader, I can use the little blue square to move the tip of the small arrow but how can I move the other one ?
Since that multileader is pointing to other trees as well, I cannot move the whole thing.
I guess I could go to the paper space and into a viewport using that scale, but I need to do that quite often and I'm sure there should be an easier way.
When we copy multileadered items from one viewport to another the leaders do not show up, but the text does.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe recently upgraded from Autodesk Inventor 11 to Autodesk Inventor 13. For some reason the text box cuts off any leader I try to put over it. I thought this might be a glitch on my machine at first till I realized that it would not work on any machine in our office. I must have clicked a wrong button or something when installing Autodesk Inventor 13 because it worked perfectly fine in Autodesk Inventor 11.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was adding text and leaders to a drawing and after the text was entered I pushed the escape key. It then asked me if I want to save my text. It also had a check box asking me if I always want to perform that so it wouldn't keep popping up with that question. Well, I had checked that I didn't want the text and I also checked the box to always perform that answer. And now it won't save any text that I write. It just keeps the leader. How can I get the text to stay and undo the box that I checked to always answer that way (to not keep text)?

Why use text leaders in cad plans?

Normally When I start interface and tagging items (drawings) and writting in to Database, everything is working fine. However my interface is idle for morethan 15 mins, after that if I start the process (Searching items, Creating Items, Writting Items into DB) then immediately I got the Error "Automation Error System call failed". I did lot of R & D on my code, but I am unable to find the issue, may be Objects are emptied or i don't know.
Problamatic Code is given below.
dim strAutoCadVersion as string
strAutoCadVersion = Left(AcadApplication.Version, 2) is giving Automation Error when the interface has been idle for 10 mins.
Also I attached screen shots of an error.
I was wondering is there a way to export text, dimension, leaders and table styles? I have been trying for a while but can figure it out not even sure that you can.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I draw new linework and text it shows up greyed out, even though it should be showing up full tone. Curiously, blocks that are inserted on the same layer as the linework and text come in full tone.
The attached image provides an example of what's happening (it's difficult to see the greyed out text reading "TEST", the leader, and a sawtooth section of polyline).
More info:
Xrefed drawings are displayed at full tone.
Linework from earlier sessions are displayed at full tone - this is only affecting new work.
This happens only in this drawing.
This happens on different sessions of C3D (i.e. different computers).
This happens on when drawing on any layer.
The layers are unlocked.
This occurs in both model and paperspace. The drawing has been audited (no errors were found). Everything prints out properly.
I suspect there's a variable that deals with visibility has been inadverdantly changed in this particular drawing.

I have been using background masking in Mtext to cover up the mechanical piping in our drawings. It works fine in AutoCAD, but we convert the drawing to pdf and then send the pdf to the printer to make prints. Now
the background masking is not working. You get a line going through the text.
I am having a problem with a blueprint for a house. the plan was sent to me dwg. We use pdf factory to print the plans. This leaves a black spot where ever the dwg has mask on the dimensions. Which happens to be throughout the plan and it will only let me take it off one text box at a time. There is way too many dimensions in the plan for this to be practical. how to remove this mask from all? I am using autocad lt and pdf factory to print.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have specialized electrical schematic drawings on what is termed roll-drawings. These roll-drawings are simply 12" tall and variable width type drawings. We've had some as short as 24 inches and as long as 900 inches. As a result we use these section dimensions to distinguish circuit boundaries. It's not a real dimension, just a way to distinguish what circuit is located where. I've tried to recreate it using a block for improved automation as currently we just use a lisp routine that draws an arrow and lines. It looks like the screen capture of my block below. Is it possible to have the inside endpoints of the lines automatically stretch outwardly toward the arrows as the attribute Value changs?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on my systems which is implemented into building.
I have one project employee to draw and think about implementation of my devices. Human is not perfect and i want to improve work.
I have building level with a layer which represent all existing cable path. I can use it to install my bus.
I'm setting all sensors (personal block) on a second layer and data concentrator on third layer (personal block)
What i want and it's possible ?
-> I have data concentrator. Each data concentrator can manage 15 sensors.
Can i write a script or tool in autocad to draw automatically lines between sensors and dataconcentrator to have the lowest cable distance taking into account possible way on existing cable path ? I have criteria : All sensors need to be connected, lowest cable distance and 15 sensors needs to be connected to dataconcentrator.
How i can do this ?
I'm making this image that illustrates a famous dadaist quote and one thing im trying to do is make a couple words out of a painting. This is unclear so I will explain.
I have made a layer that only has rasterised white text on it. There are three words, each spread out about two inches from the other (vertically). One of the words has a pretty interesting blur effect on it (this is significant). There is a painting I like.
I want the white text to be filled with the corresponding areas on the painting. This means the text will actually be made OF the painting. Now i considered just clicking on the outside of the text hitting select inverse and just going to the layer with the painting and cutting out the selection of the text.
However, if you remember, one of the words has an interesting blur effect which will then be lost, but I want the blur to be retained. On that note, I know this has to be done via a layer mask over the painting layer, BUT i cant paste the white text into the mask nor can i retype it without a new layer being created.
How can you mask Text that is a 3D layer, using Ray Traced 3D?
The mask function does not work when it is made into a 3D layer, in to add an Extrusion to it.
It works fine when it is not a 3D layer, or just in Classic 3D. What other ways might there be to acheive this?
If you set up a date to fill-in automatically when you open a drawing, will it update from day to day? Or once its set up, will it remain on that date..?
View 6 Replies View Relatedeffect 1. I want to make an intro for my logo and I was thinking for an effect like this one we see in harry potter (boggart). I don't want something so advanced like this in the image nor 3d. I just want to use this effect to switch from one text to a second text before ending showing my logo.
so the it's something like this: text1 --> effect ---> text 2 (text1 disappears) --> effect ---> my logo appears (text2 disappears)
effect 2: this is something more easy. Instead of using the first effect for my intro I want to use elliptical orbits for my texts. So the text1 will look like they start from the center of the screen coming closer and closer to the viewer (user) and then they will go back and dissapear so the next text2 will start.
general question: how do I perform cylindrical/ spherical orbits for texts?
I am having an issue copy and pasting text. Whenever I copy text from a source (word, another dwg) and paste it into a new dwg, it all comes in uppercase. Also everything i type in a new MTEXT is all caps.I do not have caps lock on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a rectangular chute, tapering in width and height, and intersecting, at an angle, with a round duct. I can't seem to find a way to determine the cut-out in the round duct.
Because the chute tapers projecting the size onto a flat plane to then project onto the round duct doesn't work.
how I can go about automatic creation of figures and existing alignment (i.e. Centerline and edges) using csv/txt file data format. Currently I have to snap each line to create Centerline, edge, figures etc. a headache of work! I am using Autocad civil 3D 2012.
