I was wondering is there a way to export text, dimension, leaders and table styles? I have been trying for a while but can figure it out not even sure that you can.
View 5 RepliesI've found nearly everything I need to draw my tables, but cannot find how to set the text styles for the Title, Header and Data cells.
There must be a way, but it is hidden under an obscure method or property title which I can't identify or find on the internet or in the Object Browser.
why my dimstyle appears different when I use different versions of AutoCAD.
In LT it is correct (left hand image), both styles are STANDARD font but in the full version (right hand image) the suffix text style is ROMANS.
know if there a way to use fields in a table to pull the measurements out of dimensions snapped in a drawing (or layout) and place them in that table.
I create framing drawings and am looking for a quick way to put together a cut list without having to manually type dimensions into a table.
I have a part rendered in Inventor Studio- Looks great when I save it as a .bmp and print it. How can I add dimensions and leaders and callout to this rendered imaged?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe recently upgraded from Autodesk Inventor 11 to Autodesk Inventor 13. For some reason the text box cuts off any leader I try to put over it. I thought this might be a glitch on my machine at first till I realized that it would not work on any machine in our office. I must have clicked a wrong button or something when installing Autodesk Inventor 13 because it worked perfectly fine in Autodesk Inventor 11.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was adding text and leaders to a drawing and after the text was entered I pushed the escape key. It then asked me if I want to save my text. It also had a check box asking me if I always want to perform that so it wouldn't keep popping up with that question. Well, I had checked that I didn't want the text and I also checked the box to always perform that answer. And now it won't save any text that I write. It just keeps the leader. How can I get the text to stay and undo the box that I checked to always answer that way (to not keep text)?

I've managed to add a new table, I wish to give the user an option to choose which table style to apply.
I just cannot find how to get the document's available table styles.
I'm developing for AutoCAD 2012.
How to reuse table styles? I have tried design center but when I bring in the table style it changes the sizes. I have also tried to create a block, but when I explode it to modify the table cells it will change the sizes still.

the issue is- in AutoCAD 2014 open a template dwg with the Layer G-ANNO-TEXT in the template place the table on the current layer it does not adopt the properties of any other layer until you go into tablestyles and modify the settings for all borders

I want to have two dimension styles in one dimension line. The first style would be a point to point dimension with the text centered and above the dimension line. The second style would be a running dimension to each point with the text over the second extension line and above the dimension line. Right now I am using two seperate dimension lines, one on top of the other. I'm trying to find a way to combine them into one dimension line so that I won't have to dimension the same thing twice.
At first I thought that using alternate units would work, however I was not able to find a way to seperate the two dimensions. Also, I didn't see how to make the alternate units a running dimension.
When I draw new linework and text it shows up greyed out, even though it should be showing up full tone. Curiously, blocks that are inserted on the same layer as the linework and text come in full tone.
The attached image provides an example of what's happening (it's difficult to see the greyed out text reading "TEST", the leader, and a sawtooth section of polyline).

Xrefed drawings are displayed at full tone.
Linework from earlier sessions are displayed at full tone - this is only affecting new work.
This happens only in this drawing.
This happens on different sessions of C3D (i.e. different computers).
This happens on when drawing on any layer.
The layers are unlocked.
This occurs in both model and paperspace. The drawing has been audited (no errors were found). Everything prints out properly.
I suspect there's a variable that deals with visibility has been inadverdantly changed in this particular drawing.

In ACA2008 there seems to be a maximum of 10 Cell Styles allowed in a Table Style? When I try to make a new 11th style, one of the existing 10 styles gets supplanted by the new style.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using 3 common table styles for our drawings and use design center to drag them (from one drawing, where they all reside) into my drawings. I have recently tried this and for some unknown reason they are not coming into my drawing.
I purged everything and still no luck. When I open a new, blank drawing and try it, it works fine. Not sure what could be preventing this command from working in the drawing I'm trying to get these tables into.
When I go to plot, my plot styles table only shows .stb files. I have a bunch of .ctb files that exist in the plot styles folder, and everything is pathed correctly but the .ctb files do not show up in autocad. How can I get these files to be available?
(They do show up in some drawings for some reason though, just not when I create a new drawing file.)
Is there a way to assign different dimension styles to different sheets in an idw. I have idw drawings with several sheets and use a couple of different dimension styles depending on what is on each sheet. I've created the dimension styles I want to use but I don't know how to assign a dimension style to a specific sheet. For now what I am doing is dimensioning, then as needed for the dimensions that need a different style, right click on the dimension and select new dimension style to changes its dimension style. I would like to assign dimension styles to specific sheets, is there a way to do this? Even though borders, title blocks, etc. are the same throughout the sheets, do I need to create different sheet formats to do this?

But when I choose the filter to ALL STYLES, I can see JIS, DIN, All other unwanted styles. How can I get rid of them?
Do you all have them too? How do you get rid of them if you dint use them?

I always put the dimensions and text leaders in model space, is it true if I plan to have 3 different viewport scales, I would have to create 3 different dimension styles for each VP scale, it’s quite hard to predict in advance which VP scale that I am going to use, Let say I am going to use 1/8”=1’ what is the simple math formula to use?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn the dimension styles we have linear suffix and angular suffix. For angular dimensions we just want the degree symbol and for the Linear suffix we want the foot symbol. But when we dimension an angle we get both degree and a foot symbol, and we just want the degree symbol. We put the foot symbol on the linear units only yet it shows up on the angular dimensions.

However if i move the second dimension, the one matched to the first, the dimension changes to another scale.
I received a file (exported from datacad) with apx. ~1000 dimension styles. I selected all dimensions and changed their style to a new style. Now I want to delete the old styles, but Autocad says they are used. I tried purging, but it doesn't work.

Normally all three come in fine, occasionally only two will come in. I have a drawing that I am trying to insert my table styles into and none of them are inserting! I don't know if there's a setting preventing this command or what.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe product is AutoCAD 2013 Architecture. It installed fine. Typically, as part of the install routine, I go in to the Plot dialog and set the plot style table to monochrome.ctb.
However, on this particular install... something is different. When I open the screen, typcially the plot style table is set to 'none' and I then set it to monochrome.ctb. That is not the case on this one. It is defaulting to AEC Standard.stb and monochrome is not in the list.

I read elsewhere to run CONVERTPSTYLES at the command line. I tried that and it did work..however it does not hold the setting. If I close and restart CAD, I am right back to the AEC Standard.stb default again.
This seems to just be a problem with new drawings? If I open one from the network, it does have the monochrome.ctb setting already set.
I assumed it must have been a problem with the default in options, but I believe I have it set correctly? See below.

If I interpret the above correctly, the plot style table drop down box should be defaulting to 'none' ? but it does not... it defaults to AEC Standard.stb.
I have already tried a complete uninstall/Reinstall of CAD and still have the same issue.
I would liketho know how it is done / is there a command for that, lisp.

Is there a way to force the table and table text height to stay constant despite the scale? I can do it for Point Label Styles with an Expression. But in 2011 there is no way to build an expression for a table style.
I want to create tables in the drawing where the points are and then plot them from a drawing they're Xrefed in to. The tables are too small but zooming in doesn't make them any bigger because the scale of the viewport changes and they adjust.
Would like to know how to set automatic text masking for call outs with leaders. Is there a way?
