I have hundreds of drawings with attributes that are duplicated. I can't go through each individual drawing, call up BATTMAN and delete them one by one. I need a way to automate the process. The duplicates always show up in EATTE and show up most of the time in BATTMAN. I need a lisp that will find and delete duplicates shown in RED while leaving the originals intact.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure why it took me so long to realize this, but apparently I have a bunch of double brushes loaded in my Custom Brushes Mini plug in. From the looks of it, I did two things: 1) I added several sets of brushes twice, and 2) On the majority of the sets, I loaded both the brush and the brush preview (from ABR). So now it is registering that I have over 600 brushes, when the number is closer to 350.
Is there a way to delete out those extra brushes and previews from the plug in? I'm expecting it to be slow loading, because of the brushes anyway. But taking off all of those extras would still work quite a bit in speeding things up.
In PSP X2, it doesnt seem to be possible to delete tags from pictures. Although there is an option to delete a tag, it always seems to re-create itself. Any way to actually delete an unwanted tag from a picture?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhat I really want to do is on our fire alarm blocks we have 3 different attributes one for the address, the candela and one for misc info. I want to make an attribute that takes the number from the candela (15,30,75or 110) and change a different attribute to a value depending on which candela we use (such as 15=.078, 30=.113, 75=.195 or 110=.259). But I don't want the .078,.113,.195,.259 to print out on paper, I want to export block information excel file so I can add up all values.

Once it's in AutoCAD format I have to run a script file from my customer that checked attributed fields in certain blocks in the AutoCAD file. In IV2008 the title block names were changed on export to adding "title blocks" to the beginning. Which I delt with. But now in IV2009 all the TAG names in each block are also renamed on export to adding "_001" to the end of each TAG name. Is there any way to keep the same naming on export to AutoCAD for blocks and sketch symbols so I don't have a write a bunch of script files for the AutoCAD file?

Convert Fields to text in my Title Block. I want to change some specific attributes only to convert into texts in my title block ( "MODE_A3" is my Title Block name).
For example in "MODE_A3" block having lots of tags like TAG1, TAG2, TAG3 upto TAG10 with fields. I need to change TAG3, TAG4, & TAG5 attribute fields into texts in all layouts.
I was wondering if it was the COND statement that I would need to use to evaluate a block to confirm that two attribute tags existed and if so, if would process the block to perform an attribute extraction of both of those tags. It would ignore blocks that only had one or the other attribute tags - and only extract the attribute values if the block had BOTH of the tags present - It could be blank, but it had to exist.
For example, I want to find blocks that have the attribute tag "PART_A" and "ID" - and then create a CDF that has the value of "PART_A" in the first column and "ID" in the second column. Then it closes my CDF file.
Then, I want it to scan my drawing again for blocks that contain attribute tag "PART_B" and "ID" and then re-open that CDF file and append the values so that the values of teh attribute "PART_B" is in the first column and the values of the tag "ID" are in the second column.
I have been playing with the following code --- is there anyway to modify the code to get it to do what I need? I have already removed the part that writes the header-row....
I'm using CS6 and noticed that whenever I delete a layer that was a dupe of another layer with links (although not linked specifically to the deleted layer), the undeleted original layers become invisible on the canvas even though they are still visible in the layers pallette. I've been able to recreate this several times. Nothing I do will make the layers visible -I've tried moving them all to the top of the layers palette, making sure their opacity is 100%, making sure there are no layer effects, etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to duplicate in place? I have a instance where I am using a lot of subtractions and I want to have multiple copies of objects in the exact same position. I am finding that when I do copy I often snap to the object but the direction for depth relative to the view I am in ends up being different. Example being I have a 2" Diameter circle extrude that I want to be 120" long. I created that. I want a copy of it in the same position. I am looking from the front so all I see is the circle. I select copy and grab the center point and snap to the centerpoint. Now I have its zero at the other's 120" mark. I am hoping I could just run a duplicate command, but I cannot seem to find that.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe draw several instances of the same base object, a box for example. Different boxes have different features to plot on different layouts. For example, on one of the boxes we dimension lengths, on another we might show levels or elevations. We have multiple layouts based upon the number of unique features we need to plot. Then we batch plot those layouts to a single pdf file with multiple pages.
We do not plot to a scale, we just use dynamic zoom to make the layout look good.
Once that first layout is set, I want another layout with the second box, then a third and fourth etc.
How do I get the new layout with the second box to match the first one? I want the second box to be in the same position and be the same size as it is in the first layout.
I've been having a problem with my AutoCAD LT 2010 completely deleting files after I have saved them and closed them. There is no file in the recovery manager, no back up file, nothing. It has happened three times without warning and it always happens to files I've been working on for awhile and have opened and closed multiple times. Is there any way to recover these files and how do I keep it from happening again?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI created a command that I no longer use. I actually made a spelling error upon creating it "SUPECLOSE" and I want to delete it.
This is how I created this command: I typed in ALIASEDIT in order to add a new alias to a command.
I then clicked on the "Add" button.
In the "Alias:" field, I typed in "xx"
And in the "AutoCAD Command:" field, I typed in "SUPECLOSE" - which isn't actually an autoCAD command. "SUPERCLOSE" is the command I use to run a custom LISP routine that I created. Upon hitting pressing "OK" to this, AutoCAD prompted me with: "'SUPECLOSE' is a new command, Do you want to add this to your list of commands?"
I said yes. And then shortly afterwards realized the spelling error I had made. Problem is...I don't know how to access this list and delete the new command that I had just created (which does nothing).
I have multiple paper spaces to show a variety of drawings. I currently have my floor plan as a viewport, but I need to delete it in order to add in my elevations. I tried deleting my current viewport, but it also deletes the rest of mine. How do I delete a viewport from only one paper space, so that it does not interrupt with my other drawings?

I have hundreds in some drawings, so I am trying to do a mass editing through lisp, but it won't remove just the wipeout, the text grouped with it gets deleted too.
When I insert a drawing from another source as a block into one my drawing - and then explode the block and change the exploded block layers to my layers. Then I purge out the old layers. Normally this works fine, but I have lately had trouble getting rid of some unwanted layers as everytime I have tried, I get the message that they are x-ref dependent and cannot be deleted or purged. I have tried to isolate them by freezing and turning off everything else, but there are no features, entities, "specks" whatever, to erase. I have looked at the xref command, and my drawing shows no rogue xrefs. I am not sure what to do to get rid of these layers.

The first, if i have created many annotative dimensions and texts and with the time many scales get attached to these objects during editing ( the scales which i don't use on my layouts anymore but have used on these objects ones) How can I quickly and efficiently delete all the scales that are not in use on my layouts in my viewports for all the annotative objects?
the second question is how can I create annotative tags( dynamic blocks that can be scaled like annotative texts)?
When I create a new document in AutoCAD, I get a weird gap of space right above my command bar that either displays a duplicate of the command bar or just blank white space. It is as if the comupter does not recognize it as part of the screen. My mouse will jump over the bar and I cannot type or select anything inside it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have determined that an AutoCAD drawing has the unfortunate ability to have Annotation Scales "hard coded", meaning they CANNOT be removed from the drawing.
Let me explain....
In a detail drawing file (i.e. my master drawing file where I keep all of our standard details), I was getting duplicate Annotation Scales. I would try to use the SCALELISTEDIT command to try and delete the anno scales not being used, but it would appear they WERE being used. (and resetting the anno scales didn't work either)
I was using a combination of tricks to determine WHICH annotation objects were using the duplicate anno scales. I would set ANNOALLVISIBLE to 0 and set the CANNOSCALE to the duplicate anno style to see where they were being used with no luck
I would then use the QSELECT command to group select each type of annotation object that were annotative, and check to see if they were using the duplicate scales. Again, no luck
THEN, I decided to cut-n-paste each detail one-at-a-time from my master drawing file to a new BLANK drawing with only one annotation scale in it (i.e. 1:1). I would paste a detail, and then enter the SCALELISTEDIT command to see which anno scales "came along for the ride". I pasted a particular detail that carried over the duplicate anno scales, but when I checked all of the annotation objects for the duplicate anno scales - NOTHING! I then deleted that particular detail, purged it, and then I was able to delete the duplicate anno scales. But no matter what I did to try and fix that detail (i.e. wblock, cut-n-paste, save-down, etc) the duplicate anno scales simply will NOT be allowed to be deleted even though i cannot find any objects associated with them.
I have just noticed when attempting to move the attributes in the blocks of my drawing that the grips have disappeared, where they have gone or how to turn them back on?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need to create blocks in which the same text appears twice. I've created an invisible attribute to hold the text and created two mtext object containing fields that point to the attribute value.
The text fields show the default value of my attribute but will not change when the attribute is set on an placed instance. After setting the attribute on an instance I've tried UPDATEFIELD and REGEN but still I see the default value.
I have an exisitng attribute that have several line items. I want to add more items to this attribute same attribute. The attribute block name is "JLR24X36" and there are 15 existing tags within this attribute?
