AutoCAD 2013 :: Wipe-out Hatching Behind Text?
Jul 26, 2013I have forgotten how to wipeout the hatching in back of text!

View 6 RepliesIt would seem that after closing a drawing with the wipe out frames set to "D" (Display, but don't plot), then opening that drawing, the wipe out frame state is set to "On".

He is not even picking inside the area where these gap indication circles are appearing. I have had him adjust the hatch gap tolerance but am wondering if I can turn off this behavior entirely?
View 4 Replies View Relatedi use the hplayer command which changes the layer when i open the hatch command. i am sure when i closed it in the past it then changes the layer back to my current layer. now it gets stuck on my 'hatch' layer and i have to manually change the layer to 'current'.
is there a reactor or is it part of the command?
One of our engineer just reported that his insytalation of AutoCAD 2014 hangs when he is busy doing some hatching. I dont work with the program myself
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have custom pull down menus that I use for hatching. The reason I use this method instead of the tool pallet or the regular hatch toolbar is that I have quick access to multiple commonly used hatch patterns already set up with scales and directions and can pick multiple objects at once.
The only problem is I loose the associativity when stretching an object. It's Associative if I use the hatch command or the tool pallet. I had no problem with this method when using AutoCAD 2010. Is there some system variable setting that has changed?
Is there a way for C3D 2013 to automatically hatch (with a style) in the profile view the area from the FG to top of pipes (Sanitary, Storm or Water). Currently we go old school with isolating the linework in the profile and hatching it manually. The interesting thing is the hatch still recognizes the grid in the profile view even though we've frozen the grid and other linework. AND we must put a line on the top of the pipe, or the hatching goes to the next "grid" of the profile.
Would be nice to get it to generate the hatch much the same way it does for the profile view with Cut area or Fill area or Multi boundaries.
I am accidentally selecting the xref when hatching and thought I remembered a setting or something to where you could make it where the xref couldn't be selected when hatching? I know the work around. Just unload the xref and then hatch, just thought their was a setting for this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like that in the hatch command, you can select multiple boundaries at a single time, hit ok, and be done with your hatching. However, when hatching from the tool palette, you can only select one boundary at a time, forcing you to constantly repeat the command. Is there a system variable that controls this type of behavior for the tool palette?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a box with text in it. I wish to have hatching in the box, but not have it interfere with the text. Can I make the text an object or a boundary where it will be recognized as an island and not be hatched over?
The attached file (NP-1a.dwg) has text in a box with hatching. I don't want the hatching over the lettering.
I'm using AutoCAD-LT either 2006 or 2009.
i am having a hatching issue, it seems no matter what hatch pattern i use and what hatch scale, alot of the hatch looks solid instead of the pattern i want, for example i am using currently ANSI37 @ Annotative with a scale of .20 and on the same paperspace page one plan with the hatch shows the cross hatching and the other one below looks solid (see attached) now i can go and say change the hatch scale and it reverts to the cross hatching, but then when i zoom out it goes back to "solid" is it a graphical issue?

Is it possible to create a block with a 'mask' or 'wipeout', or whatever ACAD has, that is in the block so that when inserted, it blocks out whatever is behind it? I need to create a sprinkler symbol for a reflected ceiling plan (RCP), but my RCP has a lot of graphic hatching and needs to be blocked out wherever I insert this sprinkler block.
Is there an easy way to remove all the wipeouts in a drawing without deleting the entities they are attached to?
I have hundreds in some drawings, so I am trying to do a mass editing through lisp, but it won't remove just the wipeout, the text grouped with it gets deleted too.
I find myself needing to put a colour border on a wipe and I can't for the life of me find the option.

What do I do?
I was making a website and I wanted to make a pattern that looks like one color turning into another color by way of small circles increasing in size. I've created a small mock-up of the type of effect that I want to make, and what is the name of the effect, or how to do it. But for some reason it doesn't let me post the image.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a quick and easy way to delete all symbols in the Symbol Manager docker? I know there is a macro that converts symbols to objects but the macro does not affect this part the document that has ANOTHER set of Symbols....know what I mean? Maybe a macro that digs and wipes out all symbols in the docker?
It takes a REALLY long time just to delete them one by one...even multi-selecting did not work.
On one computer, when we use ET>Text Mask, the result is that the mask hides the text. I can select the text/mask but they seem to be in the wrong draw order. I used the TextToFront command and this didn't fix it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to know how, if possible to make the attributes of a block show up as text. Example:
I am working on a power utility design where each power pole has a sequential name and may or may not have units that need to be added into a contract. I have my attributes set up where I can go in and assign a required number to a unit so I can export my data into excel. The problem I am having is that I have to enter the text and change the attribute quantities separately. Also, there are 40 or so different units and only a few certain ones required at each pole. Is there a way to set the attribute only to display text if the quantity is greater than zero so my list is not 40 units long at each pole?
(I am using Autocad 2013, 64 bit)
I have used annotative text and selected yes for match orientation to layout for the text. In the viewport it is rotating automatically with the view, however the boxes around the text do not rotate as well. Is there anyway to automate this?
The Client requires a key plan which has all the pipe data on it. The key plan is oriented in one direction. Then for the plan & profile drawings, the plan is oriented in another direction. I don't want to have two create two sets of text (one for the key plan and one for the plan/profile drawing). How can I use one set of text and make it work in the key plan and for all the plan/profile drawings? Image is attached.
Recently i came to know about LISP called INCREMENT it is so useful. But i have small problem with that It Increments only in X or Y direction or according to UCS. I am looking for a command which can increment along path. In my drawigns many numbers they are in a order by room wise, i have drawn a path on numbers so number should sort as per path direction..i have tried with ALTEXT LISP but iam not getting it is not corting my numbers along path.]
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have many text entities in our drawing quoting a number "S3". We need to suffix that number with the text "PT" Most, if not all, of the "S3"'s are MText.
However, the "PT" text needs to be at about 70% of the size of the "S3" and be positioned almost like a superscript. It also needs to be a different colour for pen table reasons.
S3 = Colour 2, 0.35 text
PT = Colour 1, 0.25 text
The hatching appears in model space and paper space, except when i print from paper space, to PDF for example, the hatching disappears. why you can see the hatching in paper space but when you print to PDF it doesn't come out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have some VIPs coming to see our new waste treatment facility. I was asked to make a pretty picture for them. So I started to hactch our site plan. Roads with gravel, grass, solid for tanks. They wanted more... So i changed tanks and grass to gradients and that was ok. When I tried to change the roads to a gradient, the tanks and grass became the new gradient and the road diappeared (blank). This is in ACAD 2013. I tried to do it in 2012 and the system crashed. When I restarted ACAD asked to send error message. The road is outlined in a polyline, as are all other objects beacause I have learned that ACAD can't handle the pick area unless it is a very small area. So I have lots of extra lines that are on defpoints or a separate layer, and hatches on their own layer.
