I have a problem with autocad WS on Autocad 2012, I've used a workstation of a colleague of mine, and I access to some personal drawings thru the "online" tab, unfortunately, when I press the "online drawings" and a popup windows appear to ask my Autocad WS data, I forgot to uncheck the "Remember my data" and now every time I click on "online drawings" it connect to my Autocad WS account.
Is it possible to remove my data from Autocad ? I tried to click on Logout on Autocad WS but it doesn't work.I have several personal drawings on it and I don't won't that my colleagues open or modify them.
How do I remove excel data links from my Reference Manager (see attached image). What I have been doing is AutoCad erasing the graphics from my drawing but the link still remains in the xref manager window.
I am trying to reduce the drawing file size. This is for uploading the drawings to AutoCAD WS. AutoCAD WS doesn't display or edit a drawing that is over 15MB. Unfortunately some of our drawings are over 15MB even after I have removed the background and others and have purged. I believe the reason why a drawing can be so big has to do with each object (grouped object) has a ton of information on it. For example, the properties of a typical object is like this:
You can see from above that the list of properties are huge. All I really need are the visible parts of the object. This means most of the info above are junk.I try to reduce the size of object by exploding all the objects on the drawing. This sort of work in the sense that the file size of a test drawing is reduced from something like 8MB down to 6MB. But I am expecting far more reduction than this. The reason why I expect far more reduction is that the total number of lines of the exploded items of the same object mentioned above is reduced from 3000+ lines to only 300 lines as shown below:
Therefore, I am expecting a 10-to-1 reduction, not just a 1/4 reduction.I am wondering there may be hidden data on the drawing that are left behind after I have exploded the objects. if there is a way to get rid of the hidden data?
I use different plugins to enhance lightroom (4.1 at this time). Sometimes I am not happy with a plugin, and remove it. This plugin may however add data to the catalog, which may increase its size.
I think that when you remove a plugin, all the related data (if any) remain in the catalog. So my question is : is it possible to remove unwanted data from a catalog -- without of course changing anything to the regular LR data ?
I am placing addresses on a mailer. I need to remove lines where there is a blank field (ex. apartment numbers are on some but not others). I have checked the remove blank lines option in the data merge drop down menu but it doesn't seem to work. I also did the find/change option once the file was created and it also didn't work. I am not sure what possibly could be going on. I am using INdesign CS6 on a mac. Here is a screen shot of the file before the merge, the setting menu, the file after merge and the csv file.
I am creating a schedule with a .dxe file, which extracts data from attributes into a schedule. Is there a way to link this file so it is a "relative path" instead of a full path. IE: The .dxe file is liked to the same folder that contains the current drawing, not linked to my C:/AutoCad drawings/Job Name/folder2... I really want to be able to move the drawing and .dxe to a different folder and not have the link broken.
How to import data from .txt files? Or from Excel? I'd like to specify some points and lead a spline through them. I've made a list (quite long) of coordinates in Excel and I wish I didn't have to type them all
I have a pretty simple data extraction, one length paramater from a group of dynamic blocks. When I right click and select the Update Table Links I get an error dialog that says some files can not be found and when I expand the details the file it is looking for is itself! See the attached snapshot. This function used to work.
Seems like i export the data of thickness, diameter, lenght and mass to excel via dataextraction, but if i change something in the drawing, its not updated in the excel file..
I also wanted to export the data to an already existing part list template, but this seems impossible...
This is my 3 days of using autocad 2012 3d. I have a basic knowledge in 2d. Attached is the drawing that I am working on. When you open 2.jpg - I want to remove that wall including the window but theres a message appeared that this is 3d solid. When I erase it all of the highlighted lines disappear. But when I am trying to explode all the lines the 3.jpg is view before I explode all the lines the after the 4.jpg is the view after explode. The wall have space in the middle.
How can I remove the wall without affecting the other 3d walls?
This is an AutoCAD 2011 related question about being unable to see under properties objects that I have attached to polylines in AutoCAD Map3D.
I have created an map3d .dwg that the polylines and points have attributes attached (objects). However, when I access the same file in plain AutoCAD nothing appears under properties.
Is is a format, import settings tweak or simply it can not be done?
I setting up constraint parametric drawing and store data in parametric manager table, but I don't know how to export & import this data to excel sheet or use data for input the program.
I am working on Data compliation and trying to extract data from multiple AutoCAD drawings. The data extraction wizard works well and extracts all the data from the drawing. I wish to segregate the data and want some certain set of data e.g. in P&ID drawing, I need only instrument Tags which are connected to DCS and likewise...
Is there any way to filter such kind of data and get the required results?
I just had to rebuild a large toolbar after upgrading to Autocad 2011. I had to scroll through the old version's MNU file to locate and extract the information. Then I had to copy/paste the information from the text to the new toolbar. Luckily I had the Icon bitmaps saved and didn't have to recreate them.
Is there a way to export the code from a custom toolbar that can then be imported into another version or copy of Autocad?
I am trying to insert a table using a data link. I set up the Link through the DataLink manager and then insert the table using a range. I click OK to insert the table and after a few seconds of thinking ACAD sits there with no table on the screen. When I look in XREFs, the DL is there but says it is unrefrenced. Tried multiple ways of entering or setting up information to no avail.
(Again) Switching the “data type” of the cell,I’m not sure why the AutoCAD doesn't allow changing the “data type” of the cell in the table for already existing data. For example, in the attached table, I wanted to switch the “data type” from “decimal number” to “percentages”, but sounds that the AutoCAD doesn’t allow this function.
In the Excel, for example, we can switch the “data type” easily by selecting the target cells and choosing the format we need! Quite simple, in the AutoCAD, it seems that it needs some work around!
I'm using the ribbon in 2012. I've got a drawing index sheet I want to update, and what I need to do to get to the Edit Data Link command is switch to the Classic interface and select the table in order to display the Table toolbar with Edit Data Link button.
I cannot find this anywhere on the ribbon, and the same button icon as Edit Data Link on the Table toolbar runs Data Link Manager from the Annotate tab, Tables panel on the ribbon, which is not what I want.
Where is this on the ribbon? And how come identical tool buttons run different commands in different workspaces?
I am creating seed files for contractors and clients to use. I have created the object data table(s) in AutoCAD Maps beforehand to be able to view/edit in AutoCAD Civil/Civil 3D 2010.
Is there a setting that automatically attaches this data to any object (line, circle, block, etc) drawn in a sheet. I am hoping to skip the step of manually entering "adeattachdata" and then selecting the objects that the object data is to appear. I realize that each sheet would only have one object data table.
I have a .PTS file (an ASCII file with XYZ coordinate data + two additional sets of info per point). Is there any way to bring this into AutoCAD natively?
I have been tasked with finding a way to link data from Oracle and SQL databases with CAD files of rooms in certain buildings. My goal is to be able to select an arbitrary room within a building and be able to access certain information. I don't actually have access to the databases yet, but I would like to know how to do this when I do. My data consists of "human" data such as: name, email, position, sex, etc; as wells as "physical" data such as: square footage of the room, who uses it, computer serial numbers, or what department is in charge of it. Using this data we will cross reference the tables to determine what our needs are.
My AutoCAD skills are good but I've never come across anything like this in the class room. Most of my knowledge is Civil based and more focused on design.
Is there a way to turn off the Data Link Updates? I want it to be a maual process. Right now it tries to update the data links when I print. It asks if I want to skip but I have to do that everytime I print. Can I turn that off. If it updates it destroys the formatting of the table.
I`m using the AutoCad Version 2010 and since last friday I`m not able to Plot PDF datas anymore. It shows the Error "Invalid Window"..But it worked hundreds of times before in the same way.
If I insert a table with our standard table style is is to big, so made a smaller text style, made a new table style with the new text style in it.
And if I insert a new table with the new style its still big...
But... select the table, right click, Remove All Property Overrides... And the text style is OK, only the row height is wrong, so in the table bar - unlocked, select the table again and move the right little triangle up until the rows don't get smaller.
