When i click on the green line has you can see on the image. The layer toolbar wont show me the right layer, like if it's not working. But i can see the right layer inside propreties.
Is there a system variable to ajust to see my layers inside the Layer tool bar?
It appears that the Layer Filters functionality is broken again with 2013. Unchecking the "Apply layer filter to layer toolbar" disables the function of layer filters in the tool palette.

I have a form with a combobox. That combobox is filled up with all layers in a drawing. (see above)
Now I want to make the layer that I have selected (value) in the combobox the current layer in my drawing.
How can i make it current?
When I set a layer as current, every object or line I select in the drawing appear to be on that layer in the toolbar. Although in the properties toolbox, I see that the line I selected is still on the right layer.
I can't work in paperspace either, when I freeze a layer it freezes all objects. It seems like whenever I give a different layer to an object, it attributes to all object that same layer.
When I open the same drawing in acad 2008, everything is ok, the objects have the proper layers.
Is there a command for that or it's an acad 2013 problem?
Just starting to use 2014, and so far not so good. I tend to keep the Properties Palette open and docked. In 2014, if my current layer is 0, any object I select in a drawing shows as Layer 0 in the Design tab of the Properties palette. If I change to a different layer, any object selected shows that layer in the Properties palette. If I start a new drawing, enter WALLADD and draw a wall segment, the A-WALL layer now correctly appears in the Layer Manager, but when I select the wall, the Layer in Properties is the current layer, not the A-WALL layer it should have gone on. Also, Quick Properties is on, but doesn't pop up anywhere.

This is not the current layer, nor is it 0 or Defpoints and I am fairly certain the Layer does not contain objects. As an interesting side note; when running Purge, the Purge zero-length geometry and empty text objects is grayed out. It's not an option.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues with Civ3d 2013. I pushed off upgrading from 2012 because of the format change and the service pack release. I was hoping little glitches would be fixed.
Here are the a couple of glitches to date that I have seen no resolution to in the long list of threads.
1. Layer filters do not filter, unless I have checked "Apply filter to toolbar". The problem is, I dont want to apply them to the toolbar.
2. Publishing to PDF - when set to lines merge (set in the page layout and the publish setting), the wipeouts dont work, and the background masks on leaders makes a faint border around the text in the PDF. When set to overwrite, to get the wipeouts to not print to the PDF as a big black blob, they have to be on a layer set to color 255. I can work around most of the wipeouts, except for dimensions because the background mask doesn't seem to take.
way to do this from the layers menu (ctrl-click new layer icon), but is there a key combo? I use shift-ctrl-n a lot to make new layers, but often I need to make a new layer *below* the current layer.

Having the Layer Properties Manager set up with default filters that show "ALL" layers or "Xref" layers without a default for "Layers Local ONLY" is so counterintuitive and non-user friendly! I'm looking for a way to hide a layer in model space, but show it on ONLY my paperspace tab. Problem is, most of my work is in model space (different aspect of this drawing), and although I could pull the objects through to the paperspace tab, it just wouldn't be the way I feel it should be (3d objects should stay in model space imo). However, for the most part I don't need to see it in model space (except for checking 3d elevations of line segments), the finish product is a printed 2d top view.

I always organize my files with elements at the top of the document at the top of the layers panel and have them in decending order (unless there is a reason for an object to be above another) so that it is easier to navigate the page. Right now this means I spend a lot of time moving layers up and down which gets rather annoying. View 5 Replies View RelatedIn PS i can Magic wand selection shape from one layer, drop to sub layer and copy that selected shape from that sub layer. How do I do this in illistrator, and moreover, from multiple layer at the same time.
For instance, in PS = Import an image of gold - select a text phrse with wand - drop to gold - copy paste = gold text.
The ability to have the layer toolbar show what layer an object is by selecting the object in model space has ceased to function. Not sure what I did. It's not specific to the drawing either as I've tested it in other drawings as well. It's a toggle somewhere in autocad. BTW Its on my 2006 version. I own 2012 but i'm an old dog that doesn't like to learn new tricks.I just noticed that the prelection ability within autocad is shut-off. For example you select a few object and then use the copy command. The copy command does not recognize the pre-selected objects anymore. Autocad now requires me to select the object from within the command itself.

I'm currently making new layers, but the "New VP Freeze" option only seems to apply to new VPs made AFTER the creation of the layer.
I need the new layers I'm making to be Frozen retroactively, if you will, in all previously-made VPs.
Short of going into each and every VP and manually VP Freezing these few layers, what can I do?
I have been having problems using my layer toolbar dropdown menu. My drop down bar will show the current layer or the current layer and the layer of a selected object. I need to open the Layer Properties Manager in order to turn on/off or freeze/thaw other layers. It seems to happen the most when I have external references loaded into the drawing.
Also, the Layer Properties Manager has a few quirks. If I create a new layer, it will not record changes to the layer color, linetype, etc on the first try. I can make these changes, but when I close the Layer Properties box, all of the changes are lost. I need to reopen the Layer Properties Manager and make the changes again.
The Layer Properties Manager also seems to have a glitch where it will deselect from the manager back to the drawing without a mouse click. Also, when I click once on an external reference layer to select, it tells me I cannot modify this layer. I would assume this would pop up if it were a double click action for modification, but it does this after a single click.
It seems that there are some major glitches with the Layer Properties Manager.

I tried to identify it with its full name, but I got an error: eInvalidInput. So I found out, I have to use only the part behind the pipe.But then there is a problem, because this name is not unique withing the drawing.
Any number of xrefs can have such layer and also the drawing itself can have a layer with the same name. How exactly can I set a layer from xref current?
