how do I do this?
How do you put text in a shape or picture that you have so it takes on the shape of the object? I'm wanting to use the school mascot for the outline that the text will fit into. And how do I do the outline of the mascot for putting the text in? I was hoping that when I started typing the text could just flow in the shape and I wouldn't have to enter, etc.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi play a video editor in my next movie and i'm a complete fail at after effects.
i have this intro i'm working on and it's a preset file.
There is a word that comes flying in with effects and stuff, and i would like to change the text into a picture.
so that the jpeg picture flies around with the same effect as the word. but i got no clue how to do it.
I'm trying to design a flyer for a foam party and I want a bubble effect for the text. What approach do you think will produce the best effect? Here's a flyer with an effect similar to what I want (look at the word FOAM).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been desperately searching for ways to precisely surround my text with a bubble stroke. I need this shape to strictly adhere to the text's form rather than loosely surround it. The resulting shape will need to enclose both the top and bottom text, which ultimately will form a logo. I just want to clarify, I am not looking to simply apply a stroke around the letters. Again, I am trying to outline the entirety of this image with a precise shrink wrapped bubble.
I realize this is possible with the pen tool; however, my hope is to discover a more accurate and simple technique.I have posted an image of my situation, which illustrates my initial attempt to pen around the text.
I am using the Enhanced Custom Grid in Architecture 2014. Everything is right about the grid except that the text inside the bubbles is mirrored. I am looking at the plan view (not the bottom) and my UCS is square to the world so I'm not sure what's going on.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a logo that consists of the word DIFFERENT in text and a shape, a dot (an ellipse) that I want to appear above the I and be vertically aligned with I.
How can I do this? The problem is that I can't see how to identify the point in the text - the centre of the I - to act as the target. I can't seem to get any of the Snap to Object tools to work.
I feel that I should be able to mark a specific point anywhere on a shape or an object and use those points to align.
I suspect that I could achieve the effect that I want by splitting the text characters up into individual objects, than I can align them more obviously but then I set up some other issues with kerning.
I'm working with CorelDraw X3 and want to fill text into a round shape, while keeping it's exact outline. Hence, cutting of parts of words and letters is fine with me as long as the shape is well-defined. Unfortunately when filling paragraph text into a shape, the automatic line breaks lead to a quite irregular shape regardless of font size.
As workaround I arranged a mask in front of background and text but this requires a square paragraph text which is larger than the background. Since paragraph text obviously cannot be cropped with other objects I made the mask size bigger and filled it white. When exporting my document as image everything looks neat, but there must be a better way to do this in CorelDraw itself?
I tried converting the paragraph text into artistic text and cropping this, which works fine for a few words and a small object. But I'm talking around 1000 words here, and trying to crop this artistic text leads to very random cropping results. I guess such a large number of objects and knots is too much for CorelDraw to handle!?
I want to engrave the text 'TEST' all the way around this clonal object. When I use the emboss tool, selecting the option 'wrap to face,' it gives me an error message that the "face selected is not tangent to the profile plane."
I am using a work plane that is offset from the XY plane. I included a screen shot and the file that I am using (Inv. 2014)
Text is allowed only on the outside of a rectangle shape. The text cursor disappears when I try to enter it into the rectangle and when I place it on the edge of the rectangle, it rurns into a slanted "A" and allows texting on the border of the rectangle. View 1 Replies View Related1) I have a shape with four sides that i created using the pen tool by just plotting the four corners, i then gave this shape a 2px stroke.
2) I also have a very big picture of a landscape.
3) I want to put my four sided shape on top of the picture and cut the picture out to the size of my shape and then for the cut out piece to appear in my shape. ( So my shape is almost like a template).
I've been working on converting a vector into a shape and am having no luck. I've done this before and have had no problems. I import my vector .ai into AE as a comp (sequence tickbox not selected). Once I've got it in, I drag to the project, then click layer > create shape from vector layer. My shape populates at the top, my .ai file is off and what is just one of the three colors, along with the shap. I've checked the the shape's contents, every group has the correct fill with the correct blending mode. Also, I've tested other logos with the same results--one color displays while the others don't. I'm working with "ray-traced render engine" And, I've reset my preferences.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have drawn a shape as a template for a picture which I want to skew into the same sort of shape. I have tried various tools (including Shear, Free Transform, white arrow and arrow +, ...) but I cannot get it to go into that particular shape, though some have moved it towards the shape, but not exactly.
I thought this would be easy, just using the white arrow and selecting one corner point at a time, moving it to the place I want it to be.
Here is the shape (the yellow part):
How can I get my picture into that shape and angle?
I have simple composition that animates a two shapes that I am using as a "screen" to show photos. The shapes are 3D; the camera movement is minimal. I have an Ambient light and two Spot lights.
I am on a one year old i7 processor with 16 GB of RAM. Cache files are written to an SSD.
Still it is taking a long time to render (it's a three minute project and takes about 20+ hours to render), and there's no pics added - just the "screen".
The final project is similar to the many templates you can find that show photos/videos. It's basically a fancy slideshow, but unlike those you can buy, it will hold 25 to 30 pics.
Any thoughts on what I can do to either use something other than a 3D shape (but still keep it 3D) or change parameters or workflow to cut down the render time. . . I am pre-rendering the composition now (which will take the 20+ hours) but obviously, if I want to change anything with the movement or the overall length, it means another day of rendering.
is it possible to create a donut shape with 1 shape layer (multiple groups)? I can't figure out how to subtract out the hole. I see that there's some blend modes, but no stencil alpha.
Must I use 2 shape layers and track matte, or multiple solids/masks?
I have a Shape Layer in Photoshop. When the .PSD is imported as a comp, AE CS6 is layering the masks incorrectly. It requires the user to manually re-order the masks to display correctly.
is there any way to interpret PS shape layers as pixels or Illustrator vectors instead of masks? [without rasterizing in PS, of course] When AE turns them into masks, AE obviously won't update the masks if I make changes to the shape in Photoshop.)
This is probably an AE 101 question.
I have a shape that was made in Illustrator. See right. It's the thought-ballon-y-looking thing.
The everything outside of the black part is transparent. I want to use this shape as a mask so that another comp will appear inside the balloon shape, but not outside the shape.
Easy to do?
I want to have an invisible shape, I imported from AI, fill up with a color from the bottom to the top. Like it's "loading".
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've made a fabulous Smoke Text effect that I then insert the .mov file into Final Cut Pro. The smoke effect I downloaded from the tutorial has a black background and therefore when rendered out, it's a basic white text against a black background. Once in FCP, I have to turn the file's opacity down in order for it to layer over a video file and not black out what I layer over it.
How can I make the file transparent? A simple toggle of the transparency grid isn't going to do it. I need to make or find a video of smoke that is transparent?
I would like to crop a picture but not in a square shape.i would like to crop it in a circle , or even better - crop it in a costum shape?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter creating a shape fron vector layer in After Effects, I can set the extrusion depth, toggle on a 3-D layer, and extrude this object inasmuch as I see its extruded wire frame. View 4 Replies View Relatedi had imported a few hundred Illustrator paths to After Effects, then used "Create shapes from vector layer" to make them editable Shape layer paths to then run scripts that equalize the number of vertices on each path.
After this i thought via online tutorial that Edit > Edit Original.. would replace or update the originating paths to same number of vertices back in Illustrator, but this was proven wrong.
1) how import AE Shape paths and their Fills to Illustrator?
I used a combination of effects on a picture and got a great result. I saved the picture. The next day I wanted to put the same effects on a new picture, but I could not remember the effects I used on the first pic. I clicked on many effects in the palette and just couldn't find the same ones as the first pic. I want to use them again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a picture that was edited by someone else, what I need to know is, how do I remove the effects he put on the picture?
Apparently he wrote (using an editor) something on the background, then using an editor, covered it up with and effect. I need to see what he wrote before covering it up.
I really would like to know how to editor picture in general for I find this really really cool!
So, I'm currently making a 3 minute news film at school, and am trying to add a picture into a video, so at the beginning of the news, I want to add a picture either right up or left up corner of the video something like this...
[URL].....
so,,, how do i insert a picture like that into a video?
and, additionally, is there a way to make it look like when transitioning the screen, the picture would magnify and fill up the screen.and the film begins
so in the example, the bread/snack picture would enlarge, fillup the screen and another video would resume.
I want to import a simply picture (flat "Paint drawn" star, for example) into AutoCAD 2014 then want to trace it there so it can be a AutoCAD 2014 format to be able to scale it very easy it and resize it without any degration.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHe wants me to take an image (Its just a square image) and have it start in the center of the screen, and as it scales down and moves to one of the bottom corners (I've already got that part done) the image multiplies and creates a seamless circular/oval band in 3D space. He also wants this done with another image, but for this other image (also simply a square) to create a sphere as it multiplies.
Is there an easier way to do this, or am I going to have to place, manipulate and animate each individual copy of the square image to create a solid band?
