Every time I load any project (even one I saved and closed 5 minutes ago) After Effects resizes the window. I would like to disable this 'feature' how do I do that?

( opening another version will not due ) I need to be able to toggle off when it loads due to the recent installation of a competing product. But dependant on the situation there are times when i will want both to open.
I very recently installed CS6. I have used Photoshop for years (CS5, CS3, CS, ...).

Now under CS6 I find that periodically the [ and ] keys will not resize the brush. I have to restart Photoshop to get them to work again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did a clean install of VS Ultimate 6 after completely removing VS Ultimate 5 from my system. Boy, do I wish I had not done that!
After installing VS 6 and all of its extras, it starts up fine. But when I load project (VSP) files I had created using VS 5, it starts populating the timeline with clips and then hangs hard. It never comes back … i have let it start loading before bed, and the hourglass is still spinning when I wake up the next morning. Have to forcibly close it.
Not all VSP files will hang VS 6. Just the most important two projects. Periodically, as I'm developing my project (and a separate parallel project), I will create my own work back up by doing a File Save As with a new number at the end of the file name. I am presently working on Act I v14. I have verified that v1 thru v3 work fine, but v4 thru v14 all hang VS 6, as well as Act II v1 thru v8 (which is all of them). These two projects represent hundreds of hours over the last 10 months. If I have to start over, I will kill myself or start drinking again or something.
I would remove it and reinstall VS Ultimate 5, but I am unable to locate installation disk #1. I have my serial number stored away in a CodeWallet database, but the disk is mislaid somewhere in this debris field that is laughingly called my home computer room. So, how I could download, VS Ultimate 5 disc #1,

Eventually the project will load, but first it will prompt with "Where is the file 0000026.MTS" . I just click skip then. This issue is probably unrelated to my loading problem though....

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? So far I have disabled Antivirus scanning. I have also loaded latest drivers and firmware for all PC components. Adobe Premiere Elements 9 is also up too date with patches
I am trying to figure out a way to put 4 or 6 images on my screen and be able to move them around to compare them.
Am using Photoshop CS4 on PC and XP Home. I open 4 or 6 files and float all in windows. I then zoom out and make 1 image smaller, so it is smaller than the window. Then match zoom and location to get the zoom ratios the same. Now I have 4 or 6 images that are in windows that are larger than the image.
Is there any way I can make the windows smaller to be the same as the image other than do each one individually by dragging on the corner? Is there a shortcut to do this? Any way to adjust all the windows at once?
In my office of about 30 computers and over the course of about 10-12 months we have been experiencing a problem with project navigator. When opening ACAD or changing projects about 60% of the time it gets hung up and the load bar perpetually loads over and over again. If just left to run it takes 5-10 mins to load the project then ACAD will crash after a couple of commands. If opening the task manager and ending the program it will often freeze the computer for about 5-10 mins as well.Â
  We have been actively using the project navigator for years and not until the last yr have we been having this problem. We bought pretty much the whole office new computers a few months ago and the problem still exists. We are running AutoCAD Architecture 2012 and our machines are window 7, intel core i7 3.5 GHz, 8 GB ram, 64 bit operating systems, with a Nvidia Quadro 2000 graphics card. So our machines are solid.

View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently we have switched from VBA to iLogic code. We have stripped out all of the VBA code, but when parts and assemblies are opening there is a big delay and the words "Loading VBA Project" is displayed at the bottom of Inventor.
Is iLogic or some facet of Inventor 2012 still using VBA Projects? If not, then can I disable this to shorten the amount of time it takes to open models? If possible how would I do this?

I have just upgraded from CS5 to CC (photoshop) and have lost the zoom resizes window facility, how to restore it?
I have checked the general preference 'zoom resizes window' but it makes not a scrap of difference - whether I use the zoom tool (cmdZ) or via the space bar+cmd / alt route or by using cmd+ or cmd-
I am upgrading from cs2 to cs4 and I noticed the Layer window is 65px wider in cs4. I norrowed the change to the "Blending Modes' dropdown box. See screen shot. http://www.inspiredvisuals.com/test/tabwidth.jpg
Is there anyway to to resize the window further or change the blending modes drop down box to a smaller width like it was in cs2?
I know this sounds picky but every pixel available to workspace is important. I might be willing to pay if someone can help me out with this.
Is there a way to set preferences so that when you maximize a window, it will stay in the workspace and not truly maximize and remove all the tools and layers windows? I've seen this questioned asked and I have not found an answer both in forums and in my trying to fix it. Sorry to pose it again, but its getting rather annoying - working on a big editing job and have to manually dock a window each time I need to copy and paste layers from one project to another.I appreciate your help if anyone knows how to do this or if its possible to do.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently migrated my data and software from a 27" iMac to a new 13" MacBook Air. I found that my CS6 window is sized beyond the boundaries of the 13" screen. I was able to drag the window sideways far enough to pull the right side within the 13" destop, but the bottom of the window is still below the bottom of my desktop and I cannot grab it or grab the corner to pull it up.

I imagine that resetting CS6 to original defaults would fix the problem, but I have lots of saved actions and other settings that I do not want to loose.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI decided to go ahead with the upgrade at $29 and then immediately installed the SP1. Well now I have an issue that I didn't have before. When I use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out the window does not resize anymore along with the image itself (not using tabbed mode), there are settings in preference just for this type of action so the window should resize with the image while zooming if the settings are checked properly. I did a reset and reinstall without any results. Of course the reinstall includes the updated version now so I can't be sure if the SP1 is the cause or not.
The only thing different since my free trial period is I updated Windows 8 - 8.1 and installed the SP1. Any issue with or without W8.1 or after installing SP1?
I cannot enter new dimensions in resizing window. Has been fine up until now, but I can't click in the spaces to change. Am operating Elememts 8

This is what I do:
1. Draw a straight line that is rotated some 30-40°.
2. Select the line and click in the W: or H: fields in the Transform window.
3. Make sure that the "Constrain Width and Height Proportions" button is selected.
4. Press and hold the up arrow key on the keyboard.
5. Watch how the line is rotated as it is scaled.

I notice that while I'm pressing the up or down keys, the number in the selected width or height field is incremented nicely (21 mm, 22 mm, 23 mm, 24 mm, etc.), but when I release the key, it is adjusted to a seemingly random number (for example 24 mm -> 24.168 mm). If I switch between pressing up and down for some time, the adjustment can be even more random (24 mm -> 58,944 mm).

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I have a number of shapes on top of each other, with, for example, a drop shadow on the top shape, whenever I try and select the shape below it (it is peeking out from beneath the top shape, so I click on this 'peeking' section of the shape to try and select it) I cannot - it just selects the top shape as the top shape's drop shadow is 'blocking' the shape below it. Make sense?

How do I go about about remedying this? I seem to recall being able to tell Illustrator to ignore 'effects' when making selections in CS4, but cannot work out how to do this in CS5. And is there a way to refine the 'sensitivity' or selection radius when clicking to make selections?
I am animating comps in After Effects CS6, and I'm quickly moving objects across the screen using positioning keyframes and changing size using scaling keyframes. Most of the time it works great; but sometimes the motion blur effect keeps appearing *after* the object has stopped moving. Not just for a second -- but forever. It appears correct when scrubbing on the timeline, but when I render the final output movie, a non-moving object sometimes has motion blur all over it.Â

Sometimes I can fix it by un-parenting some layers inside the comp... other times it doesn't fix it. Sometimes I just delete it and start over and it works. Seems more like a bug then something I'm doing wrong.

I also tried on my Mac Pro tower and Macbook Pro laptop in case it was a graphics card issue; it isn't, the exact same problem manifests itself in both areas. I did just discover that turning continuous raster OFF does seem to fix the problem--but then my vector images are blurry when I zoom in... and that again sounds more like a bug, not like an incorrect setting.
I was taught in school that to set up a project location, go to File > Set Project... to choose a folder for saving all files and materials, and then go to File > Project Window. But for some reason, when I click on Project Window, it does absolutely nothing. The window does not pop up.
It works fine in computers in school, but at home on my Windows computer, it doesn't.
I was working on a rather large project in Adobe After effects (i spent 5 hours on it) The next day i went to reopen the file to make a few minor adjustments this error appeared : this project took a long time and i don't want to have to do it again!

When I try to open it, it get to 81% and then stops. The software then crashes if I try to do anything.

I have deleted some of the source file the project it useing but this should not stop it from opening.
I am unable to select Sketch geometry via a crossing window to project to a new sketch.
While in the new sketch if I select " Project Geometry " I am only able to select one line at a time. quite tedious for some of my larger projects.
I can not honestly say that this feature was available in previous releases but it seems to me it was. Am I missing a variable somewhere?
so I frequently bring older versions of projects into my current AE project, particularly when revising spots, what I want to understand clearly is the behavior of AE projects once they are imported into a larger project.

If I make edits to the compositions of the nested project, are those changes saved back to the nested project's orginal file? If I alter the original nested projects file, how much will it change instances of it nested in other projects?
I was working on a project just fine until when I went to open it this morning. When I open it, AE crashes with either this message:

There are no special plugins being utilized in the project I am working in, only several Illustrator files. I'm not sure how dynamic link has anything to do with this because i'm not using it with Premiere Pro. All I know is that the project worked fine when I closed it last night, and now this is happening. It's a paid job as well, so it's very important that I can open it again.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling CS6 and my video card drivers. Just to be clear, AE opens just fine, it's only opening this specific project that gives the crash.

Everytime I try to open my Project File in After Effects CC, it tries to open it, but then freezes. Really frustrating and this project is for a job that I am doing. Put in a lot of work to start over again.
