View 2 RepliesI'm on page 89 of online tutorial of making the character helmet, and when I try to select and move the pair of vertices at the base of the helmet, they become bright yellow, and all surrounding vertices become a gradually darkening shade of orange. What happens is, it moves all of the vertices around the ones I selected. In the image on the tutorial, only the selected vertices move. What should I do?
I've included a screenshot of the online tutorial, and I've also included screenshots of my own project, to better illustrate the problem I'm having.
I have a 3D model that I tried applying turbosmooth to. Everything was chaotic, and after looking into it, I found that 1/2 of the vertices are unconnected (yet in the right place). Is there a maxscript or something I can use to weld all vertices within a certain distance (a very small distance)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently decided to restart on an older project, made in some older software long ago, a somewhat simple racetrack.
I decided to load this model into 3DS, and modify it to add several alterations and some heavy modifications. In order to retain it's original shape. I had decided to convert it to a Spline. According to my plans, this was the best solution, apparently.
And that's where the issue settles in. Due to the fact that the model was triangulated, when I selected the "Select Edges" and "Convert to editable Spline", the model became a skeleton of it's former self, and when you delete the un needed vertices the remaining spline consists of many un connected points, thus making Path deform and Sweeping impossible.
I cannot weld the vertices together, every attempt made thus far had been un productive, the vertices remain un connected and un usable. The spline in question can be viewed in the attachment.
Im trying to weld text into the inside of a circle. I can weld the base lines of my text to the circle's edge but i can get the base line to follow the curve of the circle.
This is a practice design for a laser engraver. Im new to Corel and laser engraving. The shop I work at has the equiptment and software for the process and I've recently been granted access to do some personal stuff.
I s there an efficient way of stretching an object. Usually I drag my mouse from right to left, thereby selecting objects that my selection box just touches. I want to drag my mouse from left to right so that only the vertices which are inside my selection box get selected.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI know you can change the leader style and the text style in a weld symbol...I can't seem to find a style for the parts?
Specifically I'm trying to change the color, I'd like the enirety of my weld callout to be a different color...just for visually tracking and locating on the drawings.
So if I change it to orange...right now the leader and text are orange but the weld symbol itself and the tail are still black.

There are many examples of creating rectangular patterns, but not many, if any, of interrogating existing patterns.I have attached the files and a screenshot of a rectangular part inside an assembly. The part contains a rectangular pattern of holes and workplanes.how do I get hold of each proxy of the workplane in the pattern? In other words I don't know what to put in the for loop at the end of this code fragment:
If _invApp.Documents.Count = 0 Then MsgBox("Need to open an the assembly document") ReturnEnd If If _invApp.ActiveDocument.DocumentType <> DocumentTypeEnum.kAssemblyDocumentObject Then MsgBox("Need to have an Assembly document active") ReturnEnd If Dim asmDoc As Assembly Document asmDoc = _invApp.ActiveDocument Dim asmDef As AssemblyComponentDefinition asmDef = asmDoc.ComponentDefinition im occurrences As ComponentOccurrencesoccurrences.

im currently doing the tutorial about the viking helmet.Im in this section "Working in symmetry mode to add detail to the helmet".Im at the point 7 of "select the seam and rim faces to extrude".I have changed the value of the slide control to -25 but when i turn on the show end result to see the left face of the helmet,it doesnt display nothing...,i did something wrong or is this a bug?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a head with a helmet on it. Whenever I try to render the helmet won't render.
It will render away from the head but anything over the head doesn't render. The helmet is larger than the head.
I need to design a racing helmet for a client but since this is round and with objects that are visible on the side as well as on the back of the helmet or on top, I would like to know what is the best way to draw this helmet design, perhaps in 3D, so that the lines come together on the right places both on the sides, back and on top?
The picture below is an example of what I mean:
I was making a helmet and I deleted right side then in modifier list i chosed symmetry. so far everything was fine but when I finished my helmet and clicked "use Nurms subdivision" helmet made holes in the middle .
View 5 Replies View RelatedI know there are many ways to model this but how would some of you go about it? Would you create a sphere then cut out a spline circle for the ports? Would you create a box then turbo smooth it out to a sphere?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI really enjoy this new draw inside feature in Illustrator. But, I find that it does not always work. It seems to be grayed out sometimes. For example, I have drawn a shape with my Wacom tablet using a blush. I then converted it to a shape instead of keeping it a stroke by expanding it. But it will not allow me to now draw inside of it, even though it is a shape.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a really large sphere and have put a camera on the inside to see the inside surface. I have used the normal modifier to flip the normals and so have the skin on the inside. Something is going very wrong at this point because I have this ugly shadow line that I cannot get rid of and I also seem to not be able to light this interior, when I use an omni light it makes no difference. Where am I going wrong?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have this strange situation.. i use the Arial font inside my cad drawings and when i print my paperspace layout, the text inside the viewport is a little bit more "bold" then the text i put directly on paper space.
Maybe it's a trick to know what text is placed where, but i want all this to be uniform, same thickness. Is there a system variable to correct that issue?
See the image below: It's a 400 DPI scan from an impression i did.
Up to COUPE C1 is the text inside the viewport, under COUPE C1is the paperspace text. Both are the same height... but difference tickness.
I need to weld to objects that has different colors and still keep these two colors, is that possible? When I do that now the weld obejcts get the same color..
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my iAssembly, I have placed a weld. In one of the members, I am suppressing the weld. When I change to that member, I get an error "Weld No Spine: could not compute Weld: Possible intersection failure". Inventor complains a little, but it does not show that Red Cross after the member is selected.
Why do I see that even though the weld is suppressed for that member?
Heres a video of what I'm seeing?

I'm trying to model glasses. I have completed the frame and the handle. They are different parts of the 3D object. [URL] ...
Now I would like to connect them together. I tried to choose some vertixes and use cap poly tool to cap them. But it doesn't work: [URL] ....
Then I tried to move those vertixes close to each other and use the weld tool but it doesn't work either.
I have had many problems connecting different objects together with cap poly and weld vertixes tools in the past and now I would like to know is this a bug or what I'm doing wrong?
I am trying to weld two vertex's together but they just won't budge. Yes the vertex counter says "2 Vertices Selected" and yes i am presses the "Weld" button and yes i have tried to use "Target Weld" and that did not work ether. And the 2 Vertices belong to the same object so it is not possible to use the "Boolean" Feature of 3ds max because the objects would have to different to use the "Boolean" Feature but in my case they are within the same object. So what do i do now? I have exhausted all the ideas and thoughts that i could possibly try. The only thing that i can think of right now is that that 3ds max 7 won't weld because one of the Vertices belongs to a closed face. Or is there a script that overrides that feature?

I tried to get the XML-Information of a weld. But the string that should contain this information is empty. Did I make a mistake?, or is this feature not supported by Inventor 2014 anymore. Even the helping page "More XML Weld Info..." doesn't exist anymore and leads to an error.
This is my VBA-Code to show the XML-Info string for each weld within the assembly in a message box:
Sub WeldInfo()
'is the active document an assembly?
If ThisApplication.ActiveDocument.DocumentType <> DocumentTypeEnum.kAssemblyDocumentObject Then
Return
End If

Is there a weld option in this program? I can't seem to find one if there is. I do scroll saw art and I do a lot of words 'welded' onto shapes. Like a name in a circle or on a rectangle to stand on desk etc. Is there a way to do this with this program?

View 10 Replies View RelatedWeld doesn't seem to work correctly on some ARCs, though I don't quite know which ones yet. Here's an example - A left and right box created to allow two hemispheres to be made. Now try to "weld" them into a circle, and the program fails and delets both, replacing them with some rubbish.
This is most definitely a bug... It's very unusual behavior. Also, when ARCs are used in a welded shape, and it's extruded, it sometimes fails to make a solid. I found that two arcs with two polylines worked, but four arc and four polylines did not.
Also, if we're submitting bugs via Corel rather than directly with Graebert, is it possible to get a bug tracking list on the forum?
Update: Took this ( and others ) to Corel Support. They looked into it, and apparently weld doesn't do what the training videos say it does ( and it doesn't quite do what AutoCAD thinks either ) - but it's all moot.
To do this - Type PEDIT and then M for Multiple polylines. Select and convert them all, then JOIN. Works beautifully. So, if connecting lines, don't use WELD or JOIN - use PEDIT and convert to Polylines first.
I am creating a weldment that is controlled using parameters that are linked to an Excel spreadsheet (using Inventor 2012). One of my parameters is the size of the weld bead. I am able to add the parameter to change the visible size of th fillet and groove welds but am unable to have the weld symbols update to show the parameter value. How to add the parameter to the weld symbols? Or is this not possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am dabbling with the new appearance settings in Inventor and for some reason or other; I can’t seem to align the weld bump map to what I would like. I want to shift the position of the map so it shows a full weld bead, not two halves as shown.
I have shifted the offset from 0 cm to see if it moves the position, but all I seem to be able to change is the scale of the bead.
I try to make a 15.5 mm fillet bead according to the picture. No success
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn IV9 SP1, is there a way to set what the default weld symbol is in the IDW? Every time I place a weld symbol, it randomly defaults to something different.
As the vast majority of our welds are fillet welds, I'd like that to be the default.
I am currently having trouble viewing welds on drawing views. The outer line of the weld is visible but there is no fill or hatching. I have tried to edit visibility settings, etc and nothing works. Also note that other welds show up and that all the physical welds do show up on the assembly models.
