I am new to Corel Draw. I am attempting to recreate a logo with 2 letters, but I need them to overlap and then outline. It is apparently not possible to weld them, but is there another way to accomplish this?
View 10 RepliesI have a customer that send me his logo to cut some small stickers to give out at his shop. However, the logo design guy that designed the logo used shading to give the logo depth. So when i bring up the file in corel draw, there is several small lines and boxes in the logo where the different shades where located in the logo and my plotter cuts those line in the vinyl. Is there anyway to remove those lines with out having to recreate the logo?

I'm working on recreating my uncles Marketing Campaign, Vinyl Decals, business cards the lot! So I'm looking for the recreation of the logo itself.
It's attached so how I can recreate the shadow all around "patco". It's really sharp on the edges of the shadow and I'm just not able to recreate it. I tried drop shadows and that didn't work. How to do a wrap without the top bending either.
I am designing a logo and the logo needs the two letters to be "stuck" together or merge together somehow. Is there anyway you could explain to me how to do this?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a logo comprised of hand-drawn letters that exist as outlined vectors in my .ai file. I am trying to find out if there is an easy way to make each letter a bit “thinner”. I have been achieving this for digital purposes by adding a stroke to each letter that matches the color of the background it will be used on. This workaround has been effective in getting the look I want but becomes problematic when preparing files for printed applications (t-shirts, stickers, etc.)
Is there an easy way to somehow “thin-out” the letters equivalent to the amount of girth that the stroke appears to take off of each letter?
I know you can change the leader style and the text style in a weld symbol...I can't seem to find a style for the parts?
Specifically I'm trying to change the color, I'd like the enirety of my weld callout to be a different color...just for visually tracking and locating on the drawings.
So if I change it to orange...right now the leader and text are orange but the weld symbol itself and the tail are still black.

This is a practice design for a laser engraver. Im new to Corel and laser engraving. The shop I work at has the equiptment and software for the process and I've recently been granted access to do some personal stuff.

Second dumb question.
I have hit or miss luck with the weld feature some times it works and other times it simply will not work. I'm trying to make a small metal sign and need solid numbers (not Stencil) I draw a rectangle and add text above it and move it down to the top of the rectangle and select both and hit weld, some times it works and some times it doesn't. I have also tried to weld text to a 2 point line and cant do that at all, I suspect the 2 poing line is considered a demensional line so that may be my problem there. I have spent the greater part of a day trying to figue out thes two problems I have watched Graphics unleshed and read all i can find and still haven't figured out if it is me or the program. I have the problem with any of the fonts that come with X5.
I want to type a name and save it then post it on the new website I am working on. Problem is it post inside a white box. I have posted a link to the page I am working on.

Im using the Mistral font and on closer inspection the letters have a white line that doesn't connect them entirely.

If I convert them (from text) to curves and then use the Virtual Segment Delete Tool, it leaves open curves and the color disappears. After opening the file, I save it as a Corel Draw file, then work on it. The problem starts when converting the Corel file to an AI file. The AI file now shows sections of letters filled in, like the letter o.
We're using Corel X5 and using Windows 7.
I need to cut out letters from plastic on a laser cutter. I use "no fill" and a hairline outline and it works fine. But occasionally I want to change a font to be "thicker" or have a thicker line but still maintain the hairline outline for cutting. I can get thicker lines on screen by using the contour tool but how to remove the fill and keep the hairline outline. To complicate matters, I need these letters to be joined together, so I also need to use the weld tool.

Charmap has its own text field where the written text is displayed. from that text field i've to copy paste it to corel draw's text field.
Now the problem is whenever i paste it on corel draw's text field, the letters come a bit jumbled up. i've noticed that the vowels get jumbled up. but when i paste it on ms word, it comes as it is.
I want to fill in a circle with letters, not a paragraph of text, but where the few letters fill into the circle space. I 'm using CorelDRAW GSX5

How do I select all the text and change the same letters to a selected color at once, I know how to change the color for a letter one by one, but it is too tedious.
I can intersect two letters, but the top letter crosses the bottom letter twice: the first instance needs to be over, and the second instance needs to be under. Have tried everything but cannot get it the way I need it.

all the fonts are solid black so I need to know how to hollow them out so the background fill will show, then have to cut out all the letters to get the background around them removed so I have only the letters filled with rainbow that can then be moved around and overlaid like with the gray checkerboard squares thing happening.
Like this: imagine a rainbow backing picture with " I heart Mom" text overlaid, fill the " I heart Mom" with rainbow then get rid of the rest of the rainbow backing that is OUTSIDE the letters. The word heart will be replaced with a heart shape.
We are longtime users of CorelDraw, but recently we have been having lots of problems with printing.
When printing out a page for production, the letters at the end of one piece of text did not show up when printed.The wording was not converted to curves or anything; just plain text split into two lines.
On other occasions, pieces of artwork will not appear when printed. Sometimes it is consistent on multiple computers; other times only one computer will print the errors.
Is this a bug in X5? Is it fixed in X6, or are there still issues of art and text randomly vanishing? Could the printers be at fault?
I have this text on a notepad and I want to make the same design in Corel Draw X6.
I have a few question. Which is the font used there? I tried looking through all the fonts in Corel and noone was the same. Sites like Whatthefont won't answer me correctly because the letters have white line inside.
My second question is this: I need to make the same design, so the white line should be in the letters. How to make that? Is this a font property or do I need to make it by hand? If it isn't a font property, how can I make it?

I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7. It has a 500GB HD, 4GB RAM, 16" screen and CorelDRAW X5 and Summa's WinPlot bridge software installed. Everything runs perfectly.
I want to be able to cut vinyl letters from my Summa D75R vinyl cutter and then to cut a different colored outline to be applied over the top of those letters. The letters themselves, that is, the main body of the letters, I can cut with no problem.
I know that I will have to separate the two elements and cut the letters from one file and the outlines from a different file. As an experiment I created a single word with a color. I then created an outline for that word. I deleted the body of the letter leaving only the outline.
I then did a "Convert to Curves" on the outline and imported the image into the WinPlot software that my Summa D75R vinyl cutter uses. I sent the image to the cutter but it cut it as a solid letter. It did not make a double-line cut as it would have to do to make the image an outline.
