View 6 RepliesI have an assembly already created with weld bead on it, at the moment I click on creating a weld bead report, it asks me to include all assemblies, I selected the option, and next it opens a window to save the spreadsheet, select the destiny, and next it says that no weld beads were found! report will not be generated.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi just started using inventor 2013.
it seems that there's a setting so that when it imports steps it assigns weld bead colours to all the surfaces of the imported model. is there a way to change this behaviour so that it imports with solid colour surfaces instead?
I know you can change the leader style and the text style in a weld symbol...I can't seem to find a style for the parts?
Specifically I'm trying to change the color, I'd like the enirety of my weld callout to be a different color...just for visually tracking and locating on the drawings.
So if I change it to orange...right now the leader and text are orange but the weld symbol itself and the tail are still black.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my iAssembly, I have placed a weld. In one of the members, I am suppressing the weld. When I change to that member, I get an error "Weld No Spine: could not compute Weld: Possible intersection failure". Inventor complains a little, but it does not show that Red Cross after the member is selected.
Why do I see that even though the weld is suppressed for that member?
Heres a video of what I'm seeing?

I tried to get the XML-Information of a weld. But the string that should contain this information is empty. Did I make a mistake?, or is this feature not supported by Inventor 2014 anymore. Even the helping page "More XML Weld Info..." doesn't exist anymore and leads to an error.
This is my VBA-Code to show the XML-Info string for each weld within the assembly in a message box:
Sub WeldInfo()
'is the active document an assembly?
If ThisApplication.ActiveDocument.DocumentType <> DocumentTypeEnum.kAssemblyDocumentObject Then
Return
End If

I am creating a weldment that is controlled using parameters that are linked to an Excel spreadsheet (using Inventor 2012). One of my parameters is the size of the weld bead. I am able to add the parameter to change the visible size of th fillet and groove welds but am unable to have the weld symbols update to show the parameter value. How to add the parameter to the weld symbols? Or is this not possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am dabbling with the new appearance settings in Inventor and for some reason or other; I can’t seem to align the weld bump map to what I would like. I want to shift the position of the map so it shows a full weld bead, not two halves as shown.
I have shifted the offset from 0 cm to see if it moves the position, but all I seem to be able to change is the scale of the bead.
In IV9 SP1, is there a way to set what the default weld symbol is in the IDW? Every time I place a weld symbol, it randomly defaults to something different.
As the vast majority of our welds are fillet welds, I'd like that to be the default.
I am currently having trouble viewing welds on drawing views. The outer line of the weld is visible but there is no fill or hatching. I have tried to edit visibility settings, etc and nothing works. Also note that other welds show up and that all the physical welds do show up on the assembly models.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOk we just got 2012 and now i cant view that weld surface look, where instead of just a chamfer if actually looks like a weld. the setting was automatically on in 2012 but in 2013 it isnt.
how do you turn it on?
I have an assembly that I thought in the beginning of its creation I thought I would be able to add welds to it.
I wasn't successful which is not the issue, but rather since I have NO welds on this, and this assembly shows as a weld model, is there a way to reverse this? I need to add an assembly cut to this model and it is not allowing me due to this.
In Inventor 2010 is it possible to retrieve the dimensions from the weld in an idw without rewriting this dimensions? Now when hitting weldings in idw the symbol stays empty.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to create a custom weld symbol in inventor? As of right now I am using a sketched symbol from autocad, but i would very much like to get away from this.
I need a bevel weld back gouged then ground flush on the back side. Cant do that as of right now with the inventor.
I'm starting with a tube and want to add a weld build up around the OD on both ends. I mainly want to do this so that when I create a sectioned view on a drawing, you can see the difference in hatching between the original tube and the weld build up. I've had to create sketches on the drawing up to this point.
The photo I've attached shows the tube and shape of the weld build up. the green line is where I would like the tube OD to be, and the weld build up would be everything above that.
I'm using Inventor Pro 2013.
I have been asked to change some of the default weld settings within the weldment template, i.e. set groove weld to full face full face, set the fillet weld to 6x6. so that when we do a new weldment these things are already set, have hunted high and low on here, through google, autodesk knowledge base for inventor but havent found anything, not sure if havent put the right keywords in or that it just isnt possible to do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs you can see from the image below, the preview shows the weld I want and need, but as per the error message it is saying the geometry is no longer available. What does that mean? Anything to do with the fact that the pieces being welded together are custom CC parts? If that is the issue is there a remedy for it?

When I create a weld, the browser is populated with default weld numbering. If the welds are deleted then reinserted, the numbering does not reset and can make using the "create weld symbol" option confusing.(see attached screenshot) How to reset the browser call out without manual override?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a solid bar which has a diameter equal to the nternal dimensions of a SHS. I am trying to create a weld, basically to fill the gap with a weld. I tried a similar arrangement with a Circular Hollow Section and it worked perfectly. I have tried fillet and groove for the SHS but it will not accept it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to add a welding symbol to an existing fillet weld. When I am creating a fillet weld, I get a chance to create a welding symbol based on the fillet weld size.
If this is not done when the weld is created, there is no way to add this notation. I don't have the "Create Welding Symbol" checkbox when editing an existing weld. The only solution is to delete the weld and recreate it.
I am trying to link the welds in the iam with the weld notes in the idw.
I have made a family of weldments. I am having trouble controlling the visibility of the weld symbols when I place one of these members. On some members the welds are shown and on others they are not. I know that I can turn off all the welds (View>Object Visibility> Weld Symbols) but there are other weld symbols in the assembly that I need/want to leave visible. In the image below all three weldments have the same welds, but the weld symbol of only the one is shown when I place it in an iam.
In each member of the iassembly, I have unchecked the visibility under the Welds node, but some are still visible when i place them, so that must not be controlling it. Sure would be good if visibility of welds were controlled by view representation.

Is there a way to attach multiple leaders to text or weld symbols?
At the moment i am creating the "master" note, then insert "empty" texts and TRYING to get he leader to align.(the other problem is if i want to reposition)
Usually when creating a fillet weld it displays a texture of a wavy surface. I can only get a smooth surface. Is there a way to modify weld appearance to what I'm used to?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking to do custom pattern designs using Rhinestones or Beads and I would like to use Photoshop to do it. There is a piece of software, CrystalCad, which claims to be an advanced pattern design tool, however, the guys are charging $2000 for this piece of software. I already bought Photoshop CS2 and I know it should be powerfull enough to do it.
What I want to do is take a two color design and create a pattern on which I will place 2MM Rhinestones. The obvious thing here is spacing and also the fact that the design itself has various shapes in it. I would like to convert the colors in my design into a rhinestone pattern (represented by dots in photoshop) and I would like photoshop to autofit the rhinestones (dots) based on the color. Is there a way I can do this without having to manual chick to place these dots?
When working in a drawing, I don't see a selection for weld symbols in Annotate - Symbols. Are they not available in LT? Is there something I need to do to activate them?

In the attached assembly, I would like to fill the four corners (see Figure 1) with weld to make one smooth bead around the perimeter of the end cap rather than using fillet weld to lay down four linear beads along the edges. I accomplished this with a groove weld (see Figure 2). However, problems occurred (pasted below) when I attempt to weld this piece to a surface.
Error message:
" Create Weld Feature: problems encountered while executing this command.
example.iam: Errors occurred during update
Fillet Weld 3: Could not build this Fillet Weld feature
The attempted operation had problems trimming and discarding faces. Try with different inputs."
When I had the four original fillet weld beads, I could fillet weld this part to a surface no problem (see Figure 3). When I switched it to a groove weld to get the desired corner appearance, I get errors. I tried to mess around with the tick boxes in the groove weld dialog box to try to fix the problem but nothing worked.
Ultimately, my problem can be solved if I could simply fill the corner gaps without using the groove weld command. This would eliminate the errors associated with fillet welding over groove welds.
Let me know if the attached files do not work. This is my first time uploading an assembly and its associated part files.
Figure 1: Corner with fillet welds (need to fill that gap)
Figure 2: Corner with groove weld (gap filled)
Figure 3: Fillet welded (concave) to plate. Still need those corners filled.
I 'm trying to solve a problem that seem simple .I want read a dwg or dxf and know the seguence of weld in each spool.
i'm talking about isometric in the dwg.
