I would like to use multi-sub object but can’ t manage to make it work. I need to render a classical wooden crate with a “FRAGILE” logo over.
I applied as first material a proper wood. As second material I applied a standard black material giving a black & white JPEG as a map for the diffuse color of this second material.
Even if in the sample the result is what I’ m searching, when I launch rendering it just tender the jpeg mask over the wooden one.
I know I could place another layer over it and map it, but multi-sub object could be very useful to me in the future so I would like to learn how to manage it.
I am using annotative multileaders in model space. When I view my layout drawing in paperspace, they are not there. The layer is not turned off or frozen, the layer is set to plot. When I turn off the annotative feature, then I can see them in paper space (and plot preview).
I am trying to use the flip canvass vertical command with the free transform tool to create a reflection below a harsichord with seven legs. I understand the technique with simple objects; however I fail to see how a complex object such as this can be given a reflection using this method.
have to clone a Drawing-Object and the clone should use the same Layers. We expected that we can just select the Objects on the related Layers, Drag and keep a key (e.g. Ctrl) and Drop the copy
An example: The original Object has an rectangle and a text on two layers: Layer 1: Rectangle (Original) Layer 2: Text (Original)
After cloning, we should have: Layer 1: Rectangle (Original) Rectangle (Copy) Layer 2: Text (Original) Text (Copy)
So I have a multi-part solid of a symmetrical object, meaning that some of the pieces on each side are going to be identical (just mirrored). Some objects I would like to keep separate during the "make components" function because of the bends on them.
But for some of the solids, the ones that are identical on each side of the model, I do not want to create a part file for each identical solid. I want inventor to make one .ipt and put it in the assembly file twice (one on each side.)
The work-around is to only make one of the solids into a part then open the assembly, re-insert the part, then re-constrain it.
Design 2012 and 2013 has been giving me problems in the material editor.
System Specs:
Win 7 Pro 64 AMD FX-8320 Black Edition 16GB Ram GTX 660 GPU Sabertooth 990FX Max Design 2013 R6 Nitrous
Basically, when i add a sub-object to a slot in the material editor (Using Mental Ray)nothing happens right away, so I have to do it again to get it to show up in the material editor. When i do get it to show up the slot looks all wrong and distorted, everything is unresponsive. I can save the scene and restart Max and everything will be ok, but as soon as i try to add another Multi material to another object it happens again. This was happening also prior to updating to R6 which i did last night. I've read a post about the same thing for 2012 but there was no solution.
I just tried it with Direct3D rather than Nitrous and did not run into this issue (using default Scanline).Just switching to Mental Ray and changing the standard material to MR A&D made the program unresponsive again. I'm starting to think it's MR that is giving me issues. Upon closing Max i get an error message saying that an error occurred and the program will close.Just switched to OpenGL and tried it with MR, still getting the same results.
I'm pretty new to using multi view blocks and rendering etc etc... basically all I want to do is show my surface (lake and landscaping) as grass, show a clear blue hatch to represent the water line and add some multi view blocks.. people and trees...
Using the multiview blocks toolpalette I have dragged and dropped some blocks into model space and ensured they are at the correct elevation to sit on the surface...
I have noticed that only one of the multi view blocks within the landscape tab is showing as I would expect - the rest all look like an extruded cross... I don't know how to fix this or whether this is correct.
All, Previously i worked with Excel 97 and Photoshop 7.1.0 or CS3 and i was able to copy a selection to the clipboard from a Photoshop drawing and then paste into an Excel 97 workbook as a Photoshop Object and then resize/format the object within the workbook until the desired format was reached before saving the workbook. No problem. Since upgrading to Excel 2007 i am no longer able to do this. When i paste the Photoshop Object into the Excel workbook it initially pastes fine however as soon as i attempt to resize the object it vanishes and i am left with a small square where the object was and any further attempts to manipulate this object does nothing. Is this a known issue with Excel 2007 or can anybody suggest what may be causing this please?
When I select an object to move I am unable to snap to the grips of the object or any other object close or any intersections. I have double and triple checked my osnap settings. Also, If I select a circle to move I am unable to select the center of the circle through additional osnap settings. One last issue, If I select an object and do a copy with base point command, I am unable to select a definitive base point. No grips or intersections show up.
My co-workers are able to do these functions but I am not.
This is an AutoCAD 2011 related question about being unable to see under properties objects that I have attached to polylines in AutoCAD Map3D.
I have created an map3d .dwg that the polylines and points have attributes attached (objects). However, when I access the same file in plain AutoCAD nothing appears under properties.
Is is a format, import settings tweak or simply it can not be done?
i am drawing a chamfered-counterbored cylinder... i meet the problem: unable to revolve the selected object ! After i convert the object i drawng to closed Polyline path with the Pedit command, it cant be revolve !
I've been following the Convert 2D to 3D video that is given in the Help section of AutoCAD 2012, and whenever I try to sweep the handle using the same methods that were used in the video it says that it is unable to sweep 1 selected object (when I select the path). I've attached the DWG file.
Also, when I went to use the 3D align feature I did exactly as the video did, but my handle wouldn't align with the side of the mug. It kept lining up with the side but never between the top and bottom of the mug like you'd expect. I kept having to move it to get it down where it needed to be.
When in Orthographic view and in back, left, right, top, bottom, front view, I cannot draw an object as Cube by example. To be able to make the object I have to move a little bit my view .
Example. If I was in Ortho - Back view, I move the view a bit so it is not perfectly on the back view than it allowed me to draw object. Another way is to change to Perspective view.
why I cannot make object on straight orthographic view?
Inventor will not let me make a hole on the top of my object. The hole conformation button is grayed out no matter what the parameters are. I have tried to extrude a hole from a circle and same deal; it will not let me extrude the circle.
I just stated using AutoCAD 2006 this summer as an intern for an engineering department. The program has become pretty easy to use and I thought i was getting the hang of it.
All of a sudden, when i draw a line, circle, or another shape, i can't see the input bar that floats at the end of the line.
What im talking about is the small display that always sticks to the end of the object your drawing. It displays the angle the line is drawn at, you can see what measurement you're typing in.
Im trying to create a material for glass balustrade that will elevate and show outline but not block what is behind. Useful for shr screens (show tiling, taps etc) balustrade for balconies, stairs etc.
I have balustrade I'm working on now using a railing object. There are no posts at all and I'm using dynamic posts with a nothing material to cut up the guardrail material into pieces. So need the posts to disappear but stil cut the glass into sections. Also in elevation, need to see the glass outline but also to show what's behind. Normal glass in elevation rightly blocks what's behind (inside).
There is a problem with how materials operate. You are unable to use an object/material combination as a negative. For e.g. assigning my posts above a material that has 3d body turned off negates it impacting the glass (ie no longer cuts) so I have to 'see' the gaps otherwise the glass goes straight thru. The post has to be directly inline with the glass to cut (fair enough) but turning the 'gap' material 3D body display off and the railing def no longer sees the post cutting the glass just because 3d body is turned off in the material display. (not sure why these have to be linked. If glass has frame (shr screen) then it's ok. just turn off glass but if in the case of glass balustrade you need to be able to do it.
Im thinking maybe using another object rather than railing, like a curtain wall and having a very small width frame using normal glass material that will elevate and another glass material that will disappear.
I have 26000 mtext that has overridden font inside the property. set to bold and print out look like crap.
see attached i want all the text to look like the text on the left. right is what they look like now. i just copied a few as an example.
can't find the font property in the mtext object:
PrivateSub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) HandlesButton1.Click Dim doc AsDocument = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument Dim db AsDatabase = doc.Database [code]......
I'm attaching data to objects (attached data) and I'm unable to get the table option to open in a new window. I tried Field and the value is already set to 1. I'm using Map 3D 2012 .
I am facing small problem with inverter drafting. I am unable to show hidden line of pattern by direct selection of all object . I have to select one by one item from pattern.
In my drawing there is tie rod item ( find attached file) i have shown hidden line of only this part . and i have to select all items one by one.
I need to create a series of "trays" that are in the shape of letters. I am having some success with certain letters, but zero success with others.
I am creating these letters using a curve brought in from illustrator, and sweeping the profile that I want to use around the curve to create the outside.I am then using presspull to create the base of the tray.
However, sometimes the sweep command will simply say "unable to sweep 1 selected object" with no explanation as to why.
Sometimes I will get the shape that I want, but it is facing the wrong way, and I cannot fix it. Other times it will simply stall and then delete both the curve and the profile.
I am attempting to model an internal 1/8"-27 NPT thread, both the through hole and the tapered part of the hole are modeled, but after I draw the helix and the polygon and orient the polygon to the helix correctly, (or even if I don't, I have tried it) it keeps saying unable to sweep object. I am using Sweep with Alignment with the No option. If I select the polygon first, then click sweep, it works, but rotates the polygon so that what I get ends up looking nothing like a thread profile.
I have tried reducing the polygon radius down to a ridiculously small value, thinking it might have been interference due to a possible trig miscalculation, but with no success, still have the same issue. FYI, I am using a .037" turn height for 27 TPI and a polygon radius of .0214", with a helix small end radius of .177" and large end radius of .189".
I need to get a multi-layered image into another multi-layered image keeping all the layers/effects of both images. Can't seem to just copy/paste and I don't seen import function.
I recently upgraded to PhotoshopCS5.5 and find that I can't print on my HP Photoshop Premium printer. I'm using a MacBook Pro with Mac OSX 10.6.8. I also am unable to open 2 images at the same time.
