View 2 RepliesIf there is a way to set hotkeys for the steering wheel functions like 'orbit around pivot' and the steering wheel zoom (which is different from the normal zoom).
Using the steering wheel is WAY too slow, so it would be great if it was possible to map these functions to hotkeys.
I have modeled a car and rigged it fully with roll, till, steer, and wheels spinning. Then I realized that my steering wheel wasn't involved in the animation and when I linked it's rotation to the rotation parameter of the steering wheel to the x position of the steering rig (the red circle in front of the wheels) the steering wheel rotates in a rather bizarre way. So I tried everything I could find on the net to solve this problem, from turning the rotation from Euler to TCB (that didn't work), then I added a dummy into affect and that didn't work either.
I rotated the dummy inline with the steering wheel and aligned it's pivot points to the steering wheel, the wheel seems to rotate nicely when I rotate the dummy. But it all falls apart once I link up the steering rig to the dummy.
Also to note, it seems impossible for me to select the "wire parameter" option from the steering wheel, it seems I have to originate this link somewhere else to the steering wheel for the link to be made possible. Could it be because the steering wheel was a different file and merged in later on?
My view cube disappeared on me a few days ago and not like its a big deal now when i turn on the edges it shows the triangles in the mesh. So heres the real problem idk how to turn of the triangulation? view? and when i go to views/viewcube or steering wheel the roll out is empty. so i went to the + sign in the viewport and hit configure viewcube checked the box hit ok and nothing happened. could the file for the view cube and wheel somehow have been deleted?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've looked in the cui file to rebind the Shift+W button. I just migrated from an older Autocad and usually go into the CUI and bind my osnaps to Shift+"whatever key" but for some reason the Steering wheel isnt in the cui keyboard shortcuts.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to increase the speed the 'move' part of the look function moves when using the steering wheel?
I really like the idea of being able to navigate fully using mouse & keyboard (kinda like an FPS really) use the mouse to look and the keyboard to move - however the move speed is painfully slow -almost undetectable. I believe is probably due to assumptions made on unit size - (I work in mm).
The steeringwheel settings dialogue allows some adjustment on the 'walk' speed, but that has no effect on the move speed when looking.
How to do a couple different options with the color of my wheels?
Car:
Now I am looking for a few different variations and colors if possible.
1. All white wheels (lips, bolts and the center faces)
2. White lips but leave the center/bolts alone.
3. White lips with red center
4. White lips with a light blue/turquoise color center
5. White lips with brown/peanut butter center
Just recently so many car cover magazines have wonderful covers on them. I have searched for how they achived this look. But i have come up with very little. There are 2 old threads about how to get the wheels and background look like the car is moving, but in fact the car is stationary. The hardest part is how to radial blur the wheels but have the brake caliper frozen still. I have taken a picture from Easton Chang! He was the orginal one that posted about this. That was in 2003. You can find his work everywhere now.
I know one thing is that you have to make a selection of the wheels and transform them so they are flat. But still don't know how to get th caliper and rotor look like they are frozen. Just look at Easton's work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen working to get the wheels to rotation for 14 days or more and finally i hit the wall now.
I linked it with gizmos and could rotate left and right and move it forward and backward everything works very well. I also used wire parameters and linking the gizmos.
The other way i made it was with motion controllers, position list, position xyz, rotation list and ruler xyz and, i did add couple of those and i also used wire parameters, it also worked very well.
BUT, doesn't matter which i use, as long i rotate the wagon more then 180 degrees, the wheels rotates backwards, How to solve that without using max script, path follow nor splines or lines.
I want to move the wagon by moving 1 gizmo, dummy or point and keep the freedom without linking it to spline or lines.
Why is it that I cannot set an angle on the wheels without to interfere with the mate/flush constraints on the box?
I want the wheels to roll as the box moves forward.
I am trying to rotate a set of wheels that are moving like a locomotive train wheel and having problems. I was able to animate the wheels to move like a locomotive wheel by linking and turning off the z axis inherit for the red rod (see attached images. Image ex04.jpg.)
The problem came when it was time to rotate the whole thing. I grouped everything and rotated the wheels around as a group. As the red rod had is z axis inherit turned off once it started to detach from it location(ex06.jpg), which was kind of expected.
I am not sure what to do to solve this problem. Do i create a bone structure with IK handles to resolve this problem or is there something else better to solve this problem?
I've managed to get my wheels to rotate, but how can I get them to turn in the same direction as the box when it starts to move sidewise? ? I tried to create an angle with the origin of Part 1(Assembly 2:2) and the "golv", but it interfeared with other constraints.

I am making a cart that whenever you move it, it should rotate the wheels automatic. I did this using expressions. At this moment I have a code what makes the wheels spin when the cart is moved on the Z-Axel but now I want to have it work on the X-Axel as well so the cart can make turns.
This is the code I'm using on the wheels: frontwheels.rotateX = cart.translateZ*40;
I want the wheels to rotate and turn as the box starts to move sidewise. I tried to suppress the angle but It still did not work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThere seems to be a bug in both Windows and Mac versions of Photoshop CS6. The problem manifests itself MUCH clearer on a Windows machine, but is present to some degree on a Mac, too. The last version without it seems to be CS3 (OpenSth problem?).
Steps to reproduce: Any image open, full screen mode, all pannels UNDOCKED: Correct behoviour: The image should not move while pressing Tab (ideally it shouldn't even redraw).
On Windows:
With every press of a Tab key to show/hide the panels the image jumps up several pixels (sometimes also towards the center of the screen if the image is smaller than the screen area). Also (and MUCH more annoyingly) when the image is moved off center and is at certain magnification (the most reproducible seems to be 33%) after pressing Tab it jumps ALL THE WAY to the center of the screen.
On Mac:
Similar things happen, but more rarely, and the image jumps by only ~1 pixel. (Easier to observe if you first zoom the image smoothly a bit by dragging with a zoom tool).
Also as it currently is (after CS3?) pressing F produces the same outcome as pressing Shift+F - there is no way of just showing the menu in Fullscreen mode and then quickly hiding it after use - one have to go through the whole screen mode cycle. Also on Windows there is no way to access the menu when hidden with Alt + Letter speedkey (Alt + F for file menu etc.). Both these functions worked perfectly well in CS3.
Both machines have latest Photoshop, OS updates and drivers (but old graphics cards: Win - Nvidia 9800GT, Mac Nvidia 880GT). I suspect these changes for the worse has been introduced while switching to OpenGL. Hopefully it is not necessary for it to be that way or maybe even it works as expected on newer graphics hardware.
Last time similar problems occured was, if I remember correctly, in Photoshop 7 when Status Bar has been moved into an image window :-) I know it may sound as if it's not important, but it certainly is annoying. It has nothing to do with not embracing change - I do find OpenWhatever to be a huge leap for Photoshop - even if I have to put up with a slower image redraw most of the time..
On my Video Studio Pro 5 I have an annoying delay every time I press Play to preview.
I am sure that pressing this button is the most common thing people do and yet it's the slowest one. It takes 2-3 sec each time.
I have pretty fast new computer i5 overclocked to 4Gh and 8GB Ram and working with short (max 10min) 720p clips.
After I press "Space" to play a clip, there is a 12-second pause before the clip actually starts playing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've owned X4 Pro for about a year and just now purchased X5 Pro/Ultimate. We use it for our voice over business, which on occasion needs to edit videos for very simple projects. VS seemed to fit the bill at its price point, but now I'm second guessing my decision.
The issue is the time it takes from hitting the "Play" button to the time it actually begins. I would have thought it to begin instantly. But instead it takes 2 ~ 3 seconds to start. It has been this way with both X4 and X5. Before you ask, it has been this way using the following setups:
Windows XP with both stock motherboard video and with Asus Geforce 210 (VS X4)
Windows 7 with both stock motherboard video and with newly bought MSI R6850 Cyclone 1GD5 Power Edition (both VS X4 & X5)
Types of videos used: every type of file extension I could get my hands on and every type of length (full length movies to a few second snippets).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created an "addin" to monitor the "SAVE" & "NEW" button press on Inventor.What is the possibility of AutoDesk including this feature to the next release, or better still, creating a "patch" so that inventor can be upgraded to do it automatically, without the need to write an "addin"?
For Example,
If the user presses the "SAVE" button, AutoDesk Inventor would automatically look to see if a macro called "OnSave" exists. If it does, it "runs" the macro, if it does not exist, it works exactly as Inventor does now. This also would work in a similar way when pressing the "NEW" button.
