Xara :: Propagating Object Changes From One Page To Every Other Page?
Jan 16, 2011Does Xara Designer support the ability to change one object on for example page 1, and that the change propagates to all the same objects on all other pages? I'm doing a lot of web design work, so this would be quite handy, but I haven't found a way to do that.

When it's time for me to export each page as a JPEG or PNG, it's really frustrating that each and every time I have to tell Xara to save the Page, NOT the default Page Content. I'm thinking there should be a way for Xara to remember and repeat my last export settings, but I can't find it...

Aug 16, 2011I just tried to fill a page with black-filled hexagons so that they are all aligned perfectly vertically and horizontally. I duplicated and positioned as best I could by hand. Then, I used Alignment>equispace on horiz row selections then vert selections. No matter what I do, it will never be perfect with hand placement, obviously.
Is there a way to fill a page with the hexagons so that it looks like the attachment (ie everything perfectly squared in respect to the page)? I would need perfectly uniform spaces between the shapes so that it comes out perfectly squared with the page. This would be the first step I need to do in making a seamlessly tiled alpha for ZBrush.

Sep 13, 2011I am using Xara Xtreme 5.1. I am trying to add a new page to my file. Its the first time I have attempt to create a new page. At each attempt it duplicates the 1st page and all its layers. I have unchecked the boxes in the Page Options: Page Size: Document: "All pages in the document the same" and "same layers on all pages in document " and pressed "Apply" . I have tried afresh we a brand new file and yet cannot prevent the duplications.

Feb 9, 2011I am feeling a bit dumb at the moment. How does one print something larger than the "physical" page size--ie., tiled pages--in Designer Pro 6?
I have a drawing that is 3 times the length of US letter size (actual size of the drawing is 7.5" x 30"). US letter size is 8.5" x 11". The page is defined as landscape, so 11" width, 8.5" height.
I regularly do this using another program and will have constant need to do so in the future.

After PDF export done page size is A4 with my rectangle drawing instead page size with my rectangle size. How can I export to PDF selected rectangle with rectangle page size?

Feb 5, 2011I have just switched to using Xara Photo and Graphic Designer 6 for my graphics design needs. Is there any way to create a default page size so that no matter when the program is opened it will always open up to that particular page size?
I am used to working and creating on a full "blank canvas" or pasteboard, rather than using page sizes that Xara seems to prefer. Every time I open the program I have to return to page options to re-set all of my workspace parameters and it gets frustrating after awhile.
For example, my preferred page settings are as follows: Page Size=A0 (which provides me all white space to work in); Outer Margin=0in [8in is always automatically pre-set by the program]; and I always choose Landscape, but the automatic pre-set is always Portrait.
There should be a way for the user to control how the workspace appears each time the program is opened, but how to make my page settings "once" and then have those settings be the default from there on out. It's just time consuming to go into Options every time I open the program and have to re-set everything all over again.

I always hold the Shift Key and scroll the mouse button to manoevre the page where I want it, but would much prefer if it appeared there in the first place. Jul 26, 2011If you have a multipage document such as the plans for a house you can have a different scale factor on each page if you turn off "All pages in document the same" in the Options dialog's "Page Size" tab.
Then you can set different scales on different pages. E.g. 1:100 for house floor plans and 1:500 for site layout plans.

Jun 5, 2011I have happily migrated to Xara Designer Pro 7 for our company web design. But I am coming from a program that handled background images and object properties differently,URL...
In Net objects, to do this, you set a background colour in the sitestyle menu, set the background tile using the body tag in the text styles or CSS menus, and place the decorative paragraph graphics as backgrounds in individual text boxes or layout regions.
I think layered designs like this would probably be achieved by a combination of features and tweaks, but cannot work out how. I can get a background colour on the pasteboard as well as a design - using a Tweak. But doing it this way means that the design does not align properly - at least not so far as I have been able to achieve.
Would love to know the views of the experts here, particular those who also use Net objects Fusion.
Xara :: Disable Interactive Page Resize
Mar 9, 2011When I click and drag practically anywhere on a page, the interactive page resize cursor ←|→ appears, and I resize the page.
This is not what I want. Selecting groups of objects is almost impossible now. Is it possible to completely disable interactive page resize?

I have rounded logo for my business. I like to paste it into emails and some marketing materials in either a jpeg or png format. The problem is the background of the page keeps showing up in the export file. Any quick solutions to this? I have pasted a copy of it in the text here.

Sep 7, 2011I'm used from XDP6 to having the P&L Gallery stay the size I set it to - whereas in XDP7, when I press 'Pages' to reduce the listing into page names only - the panel suddenly shrinks to the left, given that the names only occupy a small space. This bugs me, esp at it shunt the page I'm working on to the left by the same amount as well.

Sep 15, 2013From the File>New I take the A4 - 1 Column template and then add a side by side page and no page number appear on the right page.
If I then add text so that it overflows the pages 1 and 2 and creates two new ones the left hand one now has page 3 but still no page numbers on the right.
If add text to a single A4 1 Column and overflows it creates a second page with page number as expected, if I then convert it to side by side it has the page number on the right.
My question is why it works in the second method and not with the first, when setting up a new document it is the path one would expect to set the pages as you want first.
Is there any way of showing the text areas (frames) just not when you click in them? as one does to show grids.
