Setup: Designer Pro 6.1
I started a project and got it pretty screwed up... so not readily finding any way to delete things quickly (delete key does nothing) I closed out the project and started another one. (Rather than pound my way thru piles of documentation looking for a way to mass delete).
In the first project the arrow keys moved objects around as expected. In the second project, arrow keys do nothing whatever.
I just bought CS6 and upgraded to Mac 10.8.3. I don't know which is the culprit, but my arrows in Ilustrator will no longer nudge anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHaving just upgraded to CS2 after years of using Photoshop 7 I am finding that when I try to move or nudge a selection with the keybord arrows (R-L-Up-Down) nothing happens,I end up using my mouse which is a pain and not very accurate in some cases. I'm on a new Dell with XPPro and have tried 3 different keybords with the same result.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI don't like that you have to wait for the previews to build in Lightroom 5. Lightroom 4 had a way around this which really works when you have large libraries.
I also liked how you could use the keyboard arrows during the slideshow in LR 4 to go back to a previous image / set of images shown in the slideshow.
Can I remove the "arrows" when i move the Gallery?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just updated and now when I export a pdf, and lines with arrow heads just export the lines - ie no arrowheads present! This is particularly annoying as I'm in the middle of jobs and clients are coming back to me with "where are the arrows!"
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was working on a project and the next thing I realized was when I right clicked on my object to either move, rotate or scale it, the arrows that are suppose to pop up don't. I have to end up going into my other windows to move or rotate my objects, or scale it. how in the world I can get my objects to work correctly? Here's an example of what I'm trying to explain. To rotate an object, you right click on the object and click rotate. When you do this, there are suppose to be circles that pop up around your object for the xy, and z axises. They don't show up. When you choose move, there are suppose to be arrows for all 3 axises that show up so you can move your mouse over them to move the object in any direction, those don't show up. When you click on scale, a small scale for all 3 axises are suppose to show up so you can scale it in any direction. Those don't show up. This is making working on my movie project a really big pain in the butt.

Currently I used to do this with the mouse, tried the Ctrl-Shift but that is switching between of application tabs and not inside the document.
what is the method to select a behind item with a keyboard short cut in Xara Designer Pro 7?
So for example if I have a rectangle in the front and selected, and a circle exactly behind which would like to select, it was maybe with TAB as I remember.
Is there maybe keyboard shortcut to change the width of a Line?
For example similarly as at texts the Ctrl + Shift + < and Ctrl + Shift + > do that, changing the text size down or up.
I'm looking at the expanded DTP functionality in XDP9 and have question about resizing columns.
Say I wanted 2 columns that were different widths - I would open up the 'A4 1-Column' template, select the Text tool, right-click inside the column, take the 'Columns...' option, increase Number of columns to 2 then adjust each columns width as desired by dragging the red corner handles. The problem here is that it is very easy to inadvertently alter a columns height because it's very difficulty to move a mouse horizontally without wavering a little bit vertically up or down. Is there a constrainer keyboard key or some other method that ensures vertical movements are ignored?
What I am wanting to do is select objects or object mouse and use a keyboard shorcut to change those objects to a layer that is frozen. The layer is called "AS-BUIILT DELETED"

I am a average Coreldraw user, knows almost all basics, but lacks advanced use of Coreldraw. I like to use any techniques that saves time. I know it with adobe Photoshop (like action etc.) but not with Coreldraw.. I heard about macros.
For Now I need to

2) set keyboard shortcut or toolbar button or macros for repetitive find & replace options...
3) create macros for simple moves & then after combine these type of simple macros in one macros...
4) set keyboard shortcut or toolbar button to that macros...
5) and any these type of time saving technique. (in selection making, replacing, finding, batch process etc..)
I want is make actions & then combine them to script & then set keyboard shortcuts for same...
i am using since 5-6 years adobe fireworks, and there it is possible to make inner shadows for object, and this is really great!!!
how can i make same effect with easy in xara designer?
Fro example when i release to layers in illustrator i than can use separete objects in after effects to animate it. In xara i find one option is to export separate layers as png. Is kind a way to go but not when i have my entire document with hundreds of objects on one layer.

I can only snap to the page but would have thought it a common requirement to snap background gradients / textures to the bleed size.
Of course a work around is to set up guides or draw my own bleed rectangle, but that rather defeats the point of offering a native bleed?
Is it possible to move an object by its centre and not the default origin of BLH corner?
I'm a CAD designer and I use XDP7 to accuratly register graphics to frontplates, but the current method of calculating the offset for each object is very tedious.
The selector tool info bar has a 9 square grid that a pop up says "Set Orign Position" but sadly this is for rotating only. It would be useful to toggle to colour of these squares to set both.
I know that XDP7 "knows" the centre of an object as the "Arrange" function uses it, but what I want to do is set an object origin to the centre and to be able to use the X Y "Position of Selection" numbers to move it.
In the Page & Layer Gallery there are the small eyes to make objects Visible or not. If for example a document has one layer so Layer 1, closing the Visible eye beside the layer, all objects disappear. Which is anyway my target, just in this way the eyes beside individual objects became gray, saying that "click parent to show".
Is there maybe way to close all objects visible with one step, but be able individually open them after? As I can see this works only on that way that if the individual objects are closed one by one, in that way can be opened one by one, but if closed in one on layer level, in that case can be opened only on that level. I would like to avoid close all objects one by one
I am feeling a bit dumb at the moment. How does one print something larger than the "physical" page size--ie., tiled pages--in Designer Pro 6?
I have a drawing that is 3 times the length of US letter size (actual size of the drawing is 7.5" x 30"). US letter size is 8.5" x 11". The page is defined as landscape, so 11" width, 8.5" height.
I regularly do this using another program and will have constant need to do so in the future.
The four squares all have a 0px top and bottom Push Margin set, which I would have thought would have meant I could have butted them up directly next to each other (but not overlapping).
However you can get them very close but not touching.
Over the years, I've used a combination of Xara and MS Visio for business graphics -- Visio primarily for "boxes and arrows" work given the ease of typing text into any object.
I just spent a few minutes with my new version of Designer Pro X hoping that functionality might have been added and that I could finally eliminate Visio. I didn't see any new text-to-object function, but thought I'd ask here just in case.
I remember there is a way to attach text to a Xara object but couldn't find the instructions.
Somehow I must have activated an option to only be able to move any object a certain distance at a time. For example, I have a circle that I want in a certain position but I can not move it there with my mouse. Instead it insists on moving 18,9 pixels in any given direction whenever I'm moving it with my mouse. To get a specific position I have to enter its position manually.

It is a general perspective principle that the farer objects are more blurred, but I am not sure how to draw that. As a first solution sure could be adding feather them, the most to the farest, but somehow does not like that. T

Is there a method to evenly distribute objects around a circle? I understand the horizontal and vertical alignment tools, but I'm not sure how to apply them in this situation. Attached are a sample picture of what I want to accomplish and the .xar file (XDP7).

How to export, at one time, all objects of a layer, in *. png, individual?

I'm new at Xara Xtreme and I just bought a vector image from iStock. It says that the image can easily be edited. Here is the image [URL]....
I want to split things up and move each individual globe and put arrange them to my specifications. I can't figure out how to move or edit the individual objects, it's all one layer. Can this be done? For example can the globe with the numbers around it be moved to the left of the screen and the other four globes be removed? I know this can be done with technical skills, but can this be done by a beginer?
I can't seem to get the transition effect I apply to the original object to take on all repeating objects.
