View 9 RepliesI've just updated to the latest version which I'm pleased to say resolves both the pdf arrow issue and the text issue I had.
Xara will not paste text copied from a table in powerpoint 2010. My workaround is to copy and paste the table text into a text box within powerpoint and then copy that text into Xara. However I do a lot of pasting from tables in powerpoint and obviously if i could copy direct (as I could from older versions of powerpoint) then my workflow time would half for this -
If you have Designer Pro 9 you can easily create custom keyboard shortcuts and assign a single keystroke to the Mask Painter tool and the Eraser tool. This makes switching between them while prepping a photo for background removal much easier.
I've been using A for the Mask Painter and X for the Eraser Tool, I find that these work nicely and shift will toggle between adding to or removing from the mask or erasure. I also use the spacebar to pan while I'm prepping.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason I am unable to create text to follow a curved path. For example, I created a simple curved line using the shape editor tool. After selecting the completed line I select the main text tool (the other text tool, fit text to curve, is grayed out and not selectable). However, wherever I insert the cursor along the curved line I still end up with a straight line of text. After much experimentation I still cannot figure it out. I know I am leaving out a simple step.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I create a text object, then copy and duplicate, how do make the width of the duplicate text smaller whilst maintaining the length of the object. I have worked out that I can use borders around text to create a smaller version however the effect is not suffice.
Effectively what I want to achieve is the 'feather' effect that reduces the width but retain the overall shape and dimension without any distortions.
Is there a way to setup vertical alignment of text in a cell for the entire table, when using Table Tool? It is possible for a single cell, but when selecting a table (or multiple cells) this option is not available.

I want to create tables in the drawing where the points are and then plot them from a drawing they're Xrefed in to. The tables are too small but zooming in doesn't make them any bigger because the scale of the viewport changes and they adjust.
I am wondering if it is possible to generate a table of contents (TOC) within Photo & Graphic Designer 6? I am thinking of a feature that works similar to Microsoft Word's TOC function.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to apply something that would mark a heading according to its level, and then towards the end of my work, generate the TOC, which would be based on marked text.
I am wanting to use XDP as a desktop publisher and can't see any hints on table creation. There are lots of other useful word processing functions but not tables AFAICS.

Is there a way to make non rectangular text boxes in Xara designer? Say I have a star shaped object in the page and I want the text INSIDE the star.

I follow the tutorial in the Xara Help, but cannot get the results shown. I draw the circle, compose the text, and set it to the middle Select both circle and text Arrange/Fit Text to Curve....the text appears around the lower, right side of the cirle After all this I am unable to manipulate the text (It's a piece of cake to do this in Publisher 2010, but it has some minor problems in appearance)
To workaround the missing API for creating Parcel Area Tables, I have tried the following:
1. Create a "pick point" selection set (using ObjectARX), containing the Parcel for which I want to create a table.
2. Execute the AddParcelTable command.
3. Programmatically push the Select Parcel-button and the OK button of the Create Table dialog using win32 API.
When the Select Parcel button is pressed, the label next to it displays 1 parcel(s) selected and when the OK button is pressed, Civil prompts the user to pick the upper left corner of the table, but the prompt is immediately interrupted with the message "Invalid 2D point" and the table creation is aborted...
how to create a new Table Style definition.
I don't want to create a table on a sheet, I want to define a new style and then assign the style to the existing table.
I have no problem assigning the style once it is defined in the drawing to the existing table.

There doesn't seem to be a TableStyles collection with an add or create event. I stumbled upon the "TableFormat" object but that seems to only override an existing style.

I am looking to create a table first of all which needs to be able to container text etc.
After that, ill be looking to create a mix of orange types to fill the top main title boxes and the same but lighter for the rest of the box.
But how would i about doing any of this such as creating a table, mixing colours etc?
I need to create a hole table for a part. I would like the origin to be at the center of the part. Problem is there is not a round hole at that location. Attached is a similar part. The one that I am doing is much larger and has many more holes... this is just an example.
How can I pick this as the origin of my hole table?

I endlessly find that I have text line objects which I later wish had been proper text areas (because I want to control the size of their bounding box, for example).
Is there any sensible way to convert a text line object into a text area object - it's a bore to do it by creating a new text object and then cutting and pasting the text, and it is seemingly a trivial thing for the software to do automatically.
Alternatively, is there an option (perhaps a hidden one) to have all text objects created as areas rather than lines?
Is it possible to change the alignment of text within a text area?
By default the text is located top left. Horizontal justification can make this top center or top right, but how about bottom left / center / right or even middle left / center / right?

Sample of how it looks likes
1) - Front cover (Pg 1)
2) - EN (Pg 2-20)
3) - SE (Pg 21-40)
4) - DE (Pg 41-60)
5) - FR (Pg 61-80)
6) - ES (Pg 81-100)
From file 2-6 they have their own TOC. Simple and it works, since each file have their own list.
I'm trying to create a small TOC on the front cover telling me each page numbers for each language file/chapter.
EN............2-20
SE..........21-40
DE..........41-60
FR..........61-80
ES........81-100
At the moment, I do it manually. But, maybe there is no simple solution....
is it possible to create a style for formating cells in a table in CDX6?I mean to format aligninig, text formating /font, margins and stuff like that?
Now I have to do a infoguide for my city and have to put in a lot of info - restaurants, hotels etc. Probably 300 and more and the best way is to use the great table tool. BUT it will be fatastic if I can format cells with style because with easy I can import xls file in Corel and the good news is that it recognise it as a table so the formating is the next step.After that selecting cells, changing fonts, margins etc. is a painfull job to do.
I am trying to create a table that will incorporate info from structures and pipes. In C3d 2010 I want to make a CB chart which will show the pipe size, starting structure and invert. I would also like to include the CB rim elevation but that would be under the structure table. Is there any way I can combine the RIm elevation with the pipe table?

Using Set Sheet Manager, I am trying to create an Office Standard Sheet Index Table.
I have begun by copying the Standard table and modifying it. I have adjusted the cell styles to reflect our colors and text types and sizes. I have also added two additional columns for revision number and revision date.
I have tried saving the new table ... and inserting a new table through the sheet set manager
the only tables i can bring in include the 2 original columns (sheet number and sheet title) and specified text font, size and color are maintained, but the additional columns and the column width are lost.
Ideally i would like the office format to be maintained...with little or no modification required of the user.
I'm trying to create a stage-storage table with six closed 2D polylines. They highlight when I select them, but nothing is loading in the Table?
