I'm discovering clip view more and more recently and noticed that when you convert a clip view to editable shapes, the clipped shapes are trimmed inside the line width, very clever.
I used to intersect shapes to perform this kind of action but this method is superior as is involve much less fiddling with stacking and does not cut in the middle of the line.
I use Xara sometimes to resize images/photos. Quite often I use the clip view function to crop the image to the precise size I need.
I just recently found that when I export my clipped views, always as pngs, they have a very small 1 to 2 pixel edge around them. I can keep clipping but it continues to stay there. I exported with alpha and without to see if it made a difference but it doesn't.
I am now having to use my raster program to resize but had liked using Xara for it. The raster program works fine and I suppose every program has its uses so I just won't use Xara for photo clipping and exporting anymore. I just think that there shouldn't be an issue since Xara seems to want to handle photos more.
The attached images show extreme closeup of a blue image on a black background (the black background is used for checking this very problem).
How do you convert a 3d hidden line view in Revit into 2d hiddenline flatten view? Or I have to bring it to AutoCAD to flatten it?

I have a 3D view and when I turn on the clip boundary everything disappears, which leads me to believe that the clip boundary is off to the side somewhere. I zoom out & out, but can't find it.
Is there a way of resetting it? I could just make a new view, but I'd have to set the perspective again.
In this view I have hidden all the objects except for the one (a book case) that is being detailed. Every time I model something new it shows up in this view. Is there anyway of stopping new objects showing in a given view?
Assume a youtube video played in an internet browser. What is the best way to capture a still image from inside a browser like IE? Does PS CS6 have this ability? What other Adobe product?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a HUGE Xara file that is becoming very slow. And it turns out that the reason for this is that at some point, many edits ago, I accidentally must have pasted the same thing multiple times!
i.e. I currently have: text-shape-text-shape-text-shape-text-shape-text-shape-text-shape-text-shape-text-shape-text-shape-text-shape-text-shape etc all on the same layer.
The problem is that there are a large number (about 100) of items. Any good way or removing the (hidden) duplications of texts and shapes ?
Using VS PX4 file type is MTS.Color correction feature-should the entire clip be corrected prior to inserting into time line as a project?I'm using new cameras and trying to get it right.

I have an original copy of Corel Xara that I purchased many years ago.
On the disc is a huge amount of clip art and other items, I tried to incorporate these into the Designs Gallery but whilst I could get the graphics to work I could not get the images to show in the drop downs against the icons in the designs gallery. I just got a grey blank panel with the graphic name. This means that I still have to search through the manual to find a specific graphic.
Fortunately I also have the 500'ish page manual (approx 100 per page) for the clip art/symbols/fonts/etc..etc.
I may not use many of the graphics but it would be good to be able to install selected images with the pictures.
I want to add Xmas clip art from XDP7 to XDPx. In the design gallery of XDP7 there is a category called "Xmas (download). I looked in the clip art folders of XDP7 and cannot see a folder for the Xmas art. I see no indication of any kind of Xmas clip art. I read posts about adding old clip art on the forum but I really don't understand exactly what to do.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with 3D Realistic/Conceptual Views in model space. Basically I will be working on a drawing and everything works fine when I switch to 3D realistic & conceptual modes and orbit - view looks perfect. Then a few days or maybe 10 minute later I do it again and the hidden edges suddenly are visible through 3D solids & the view looks awful. I have attached a screenshot of this issue and from reading a number of forums it appears that I am not alone in experiencing this, however I have not found a resolution. I am concerned that it could be my Graphics card but given that it is an nVidia Quadro FX3800 that is supposedly designed for ACAD I would be pretty upset! URL....
On the left is the problem in realistic view - on the right I have copied this into another file and on some drawings this fixes the issue - on some others I have to delete some background floorplans. It might be linked to the size of the drawings - I work on airport terminals so my drawings have floorplans of hundreds of meters...
Is it possible to show hidden lines in one part of a .idw view while the rest of the view does not show hidden lines? In the attached image I want to show the pull handle and towel bar through the glass in the door. The only way I know how to show this currently is to turn off the visibility on the glass.

When I create a section view in the idw, hidden lines are visible in the cutting part ! How disable these hidden lines and show only the hidden features ?

I have a .psd image, that I have opened into layers - see the attached screenshot... It makes far more sense than the long-winded paragraph I just deleted!! All other layers were easy to deal with I just had to click on the eye to make them visible, but the one with the dotted box around it - I can't work out what to do..
So for this troublesome layer, I need to work out how to 'see' whatever is hiding in there. I have played around with lots of things, but the best I get is a white box if I remove the alpha channel.
I don't want to know what the other letters are, just how to find them.

I am wanting to focus stack a number of images on top of one another while using macro shots. I could not find if this is feature available in any Xara product. The is key to creating multiple focal planes when in macro mode. This has been a feature in Photoshop. [URL]
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn solidworks there's a "hidden line" option that displays a 3d part with all its sketch lines (instead of a regular solid) which allows the user to view all the different sides of the part easily. So I was wondering if there's such an option in autodesk inventor 2013. Currently, to view all the different sides and aspects of a part easily, i have been changing the part's material to polycarbone or some other plastic material; this makes the part a little translucent. But this is less effective than the hidden line vew availble in solidworks. method that makes different parts of a 3d part more easily to be viewed?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am working on a project to assign balloons to components in drawing view automatically. Of course, I don't want to assign a balloon to a component which is invisible (hidden) in this drawing view.
So, is there any API function to check whether the component in the drawing view is invisible or hidden?
When we go to use the clip art in connect all the clip art images are boxes with an x in the middle and you have to physically open each one to see what the clip art is. Are missing something here, do we have to click on something to view the images in the file without having to open each image.

In 2008, never had this issue.Just dumb, circles, and lines in a view port, that have hidden or center linetyoes assigned to them. When we go to plot using legacy hidden (this new for 2012?) the plot comes out with continuous lines. These are not solids. Just ordinary line entities.Now, when I change the shadeplot to "hidden" the linetype is shown correctly, but now my entities are coloured, when I just want my drawing to be black and white (going to PDF), even though all of the colours in the pen style are set to "Black".
Has this changed? Is there a new variable introduced?
I have an assembly with a client feature that contains client graphics. I have exposed the visibility (ClientFeature.Definition.ClientGraphicsCollection[1].Visible) to the user via a context menu option. Changing the visibility currently affects all view representations. Is there a way to associate the visibility with each design view representation?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a finished grade surface and I have a feature line that is my waterline. I created an alignment and then recreated my feature line so they would be linked. I can then create a profile using my alignment and that shows my surface at that alignment. I can even add the waterline by using project objects to profile view.
I need to be able to edit the feature line elevations in the profile view by creating and erasing PVIs so this will tie back to my geometry.

I'm drawing objects (walls, platforms, etc.) in 3d made up primarily of extruded polygons. I want to be able to plot these objects in a way that hides all of the lines which are obscured by other objects. Currently I have my viewports set up with a 2D Wireframe visual style and a Hidden shade plot. This isn't working for me. I'm still getting all of the lines in the drawing visible no matter what.
Here's the strange thing: It seems to work perfectly fine in plan view, but not in front view. Also, it's worked fine in the past. It seems that the problem has gotten progressively worse over the past year or so.
I'm using AutoCAD 2008.
opened the DesignerProX and wanted to work normally. Recognized that any bitmap I do import (neither via drag n`drop or via bitmap galerie ) I can no longer move or resize with in grapmode. Only using the arrow keys. Instead whenever I grap the bitmap with the mouse it shows view extract.
In any case, I am sure there is something I made in the set-up and not generally wrong in the software.But which "button" do I need to "turn" to get the original set-up back?
I cannot find that feathering control bar.
When I go to windows, control bars, and check it, nothing comes into view. So I assume it's out of my view...how do I get it back?!
When I select a clip, it then goes to the start of the clip, how can I sop this happening and the clip stays in the same position when selected.
