Using VS PX4 file type is MTS.Color correction feature-should the entire clip be corrected prior to inserting into time line as a project?I'm using new cameras and trying to get it right.
View 4 RepliesBut I've added some color correction and some of my clips seem to be rendering out corrupted once the effects are applied. If I toggle the effects off it goes away, but toggling them on again and it's back. I've restarted the machine several times and the corruption reoccurs in the same spots. Is there a cache that I need to toss? When I rerender or export the the file the corruption remains.The effects I'm using are basic, auto color, fast color corrector, and brightness & contrast. here's what it looks like.

I am unable to get corrected color on this system. The reference print looks fine in Windows, but way off in PS. I believe all my preferences are set correctly.

I’ve posted one of the pictures here, including a screen shot of the Info pallet while the cursor is over an area of the image. As you can see, there isn’t any info for the yellow or black channels.

how to properly link my footage on my timeline to color corrected files from film convert. I know how to do it to each individual clip at a time, but when I select a whole folder, it always relinks the media to it's original destination and not the new destination with the color corrected files. What's the correct way to link multiple clips to new source files?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using Ps CS5 with a wacom graphics tablet on my mac for over a year now, and have been unable to use the brush feature for the entire duration. With or without the graphics tablet, brush strokes come out as pixelated. I've gotten around that by using the mixer brush instead, which doesn't come out pixelated. However, that's pretty limiting.

I've trained on Ps with a graphics tablet on other computers prior to owning it without this problem and researched on forums to no avail. I've reinstalled both the tablet and Ps and had no luck.
When I select a clip, it then goes to the start of the clip, how can I sop this happening and the clip stays in the same position when selected.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm discovering clip view more and more recently and noticed that when you convert a clip view to editable shapes, the clipped shapes are trimmed inside the line width, very clever.
I used to intersect shapes to perform this kind of action but this method is superior as is involve much less fiddling with stacking and does not cut in the middle of the line.
I got over 160 color corrected RAW files from my photographer when I thought I was getting TIf or PSD files. I need to put them into an in design doc to send out for printing. Is there a way to convert all of these in one fell swoop without messing up the work that has already been done?

I would like to include the color swatch strip in the edge of each picture so that I can correct the colors more easily and then crop the color swatch out. What kind of colors do I need in the color swatch? Also, would it be useful to have black/white/50% grey in the strip to work with leveling? I am going to correct the leveling and try to remove the color cast.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt was working before. Now I can't insert any audio at all. I even tried using some of the video clips that I have already extracted audio from and they no longer work. When I have it up in the source box I can play it and the aeudio is there. But if I ovrwrite the clip or drag the clip it adds the video only with no audio. Even if I try to drag just the audio it won't allow me to put it in any ofc the audio trays. Did I acidentally push a button and turn iaudio off. How do I fix this?

a) is there a cut button that allows to cut a clip into two at the current marker positions? (e.g. to repeat certain elements)
b) is there an easy way to add extra frames at the beginning or the end of the clip by holding the first or last frame? (very important, but cannot find how to do this). Ideally this would just require dragging the beginning or end of the clip somehow...
c) There should be an easy option to add frames by extending the last or first frame in the case of transitions. Is there one? On Premiere, there's an option for this, makes it much faster to add transitions if there is limited movement in the source material
d) is there a way to auto stretch a clip on insert into the timeline to the selected region? time warp and frame-hold options (beginning, end, both)?
e) why is it not possible to drag clips back into the media hub on the left? (e.g. imported an AAF with a bunch of clips, now want to store some of the clips for later re-use in another timeline or part instead of having to keep it on the timeline)
f) the zooming into the timeline is cumbersome - is there a way to draw a rectangle to auto-zoom into that area? Premiere has a little scroller at the boom to select the zoom level. very useful.
g) for timeline zooming, could you support gestures on the MacBook touch pad? If you push two fingers apart, the timeline should horizontally zoom in. Two fingers together should allow to zoom out. This is actually not just for the timeline. We need this in all views in Connect FX, Action etc. Would make working so much quicker. And it's really standard Mac stuff. (Two fingers without pushing apart could enable panning? And/or space + mouse movement to pan?)

I want to set and Elevation Point (not a PI Point) along a feature line by entering the grade from the previous point. Currently the "Set Elevation Point" command only allows entering an elevations or getting an elevation from the surface. I know I can set an elevation point and then use the "quick elevation editor" to adjust the grade, but I don't want to go through the extra step.Â
when you move it to PS he has you use the curves panel to color correct. Of course that entails using the black eye dropper and clicking on the blackest/darkest area of the photo, similar for the white dropper, and after a nice little trick to find the right spot......... an area for the midtone dropper.Â

The thing is I've noticed that once I make that first click with the black dropper, that nice contrast I had from ACR adjustments goes out the window and the photo brightens up a lot. The final steps of putting 3 points on the curve and dropping the blacks end and raising the whites end brings it back a bit but I was thinking isn't setting the WB with the dropper in ACR already color correcting?Â
Even at the end of the book when he goes through his actual workflow using a provided .dng example he does all the ACR stuff and then moves to PS and uses the curves panel.

I am creating a new piece, but I would like the brochure's background color to match the background of the new piece.I have took the background file of the brochure provided by the printer & placed it on the new piece. The new piece has been sent out to a different printer. It's stock is going to be 18PT.C1S with high-gloss film lamination.They have printed a proof & realized the background colors do not match. The brochure has more yellow in it. Is there a way I can color correct the file so I don't have to pay the extra for the printer to do it? Do I just add more yellow with one of the adjustment layers?
