I have made dvds from AVCHD camcorder and mov. files but can't make a movie from a dv. I imported a file from my dv camcorder and tried to make a dvd but get an "unsprecified error". I then created a video file and coverted to mpg. file and then tried to make a dvd but it didn't work either. Still get an "unspecified error".
View 1 RepliesI'm working in VSX4. I've created a couple of small movies which I want to compile onto a single dvd. The video files from both movies combined only amount to about 3.2 GB, yet when I try to "share" and make the dvd with both of my vsp files, it adds up to be a total of over 7 GB. Is it normal to have this much "inflation" on a project? I've not done anything special as far as graphics or fancy menus or even chapter markers. It's just a handful of clips with the "crossfade" transition applied. And that's it.

However I would like to make the same Video DVD in PAL format, to send to relatives in Europe. In "Share" mode, when I click on "Settings and Options" then "Disk Template Manager" I can see templates for NTSC and choosing PAL I see templates for PAL. Next when I go to "Projects Settings" the setting is in NTSC and clicking "Change MPEG Settings" only the NTSC templates show up. When I choose "Custom Settings" I can not change to PAL as the drop down menu for choosing is inactive.

I used trial x2 and x3, but after upgrading to X4 and bought it, it became very slow when making videos. Takes over 2 hours to make a simple vid in mpg 480*320 Or other formats for that sake.. Could it be related to my other video plugins installed in windows? ffdshow ?

But now, when I try do more editing , make another disk, or save to a file in my PC., I have no audio. If I save it as a dvd, the sound is fine. I've reinstalled the software, still the same. Have I turned the audio off somehow when I try to make the file in Bluray format ?

I have a video of one person being interviewed by another, and I want to make inaudible some of the words - usually it's just one or two words at a time, whilst the video continues. Rather than have these words covered with a "beep" my preference would be for "silence". At the moment my best guess would be to multitrim the video, and for the clip that contains only the offending word, split the audio, and then delete the audio for that clip.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have used X5 to build a slideshow, but this is the first time I tried using video. The source are mpg's created with the Sony Motion Picture Browser (taken with a DCR SR42 Handy Cam). I added title screens between my video segments. I then used the create disc link in section 3 to create a menu (linked to the titles I added previously). I then told it to make an ISO file. It reached ~ 85% of the title conversion (24% total) and the PC shut down. Not a crash, no errors, just shut down. I turn the PC back on and it boots up like normal, No unexpected shutdown screens, no safe mode, just normal boot up. I have downloaded and installed service packs 1 & 2. I was making a 16x9 video with standard ( not Dolby) audio.
This is a wedding video for a couple I know. I was able to burn a DVD from Sony software, but it is unedited video.
I've read thru most of the historial threads regarding making time lapse videos using VS X4. I am very happy with the normal videos what I have been able to produce using VS X4, however I am missing something when it comes to time lapse using stills taken with a GoPro Hero2 taken every 2 seconds in time lapse mode. The still images look sharp and clear in my photo editing software, but lose focus and sharpness when imported into VS X4 using Insert photo into Timeline for Time lapse/strobe. a process to improve the quality of my time lapse video I am making for our Boy Scout Troop packing up their campsite on a beautiful spring morning.

I simply want to have them show in chronological order with some music and nice transitions, maybe in a frame template. I know I can do this in V3 fairly easily and I have done a good bit of video editing with VideoStudio, but I am wondering if there is a wizard that would make something like this faster and get me most of the way there.
There was Movie Wizard in past versions that I never used because I never had anything this simple to do. Is there a recommendation for how to get 90% there in VS3?
I am making a slide show with Video Studio and would like to create a menu on the dvd with 4 chapters for the main slide show and one special feature type slide show that would be part of the same project that can be selected to play seperate from the main slide, but on the same menu. Is this at all possible to do.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've done this before on Pro X3 but don't remember how. I want to create a file with a Dolby Stereo LtRt soundtrack for you-tube. Last time I posted you-tube took a h.264 file.
One thing I don't remember is do I use 2 mono tracks (l and r) or an integrated LtRt stereo file. Right now I'm trying it with stereo file which plays on XP4 but the completed movie sounds like pink noise.
Is there a way to stop AutoCAD from making .bak files? I'm going through old drawings (5+ years old) and I don't need them to have .bak files.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with the save feature in Illustrator CS5.5 (15.1.0 for mac). Typically when making changes to design files, we will save the Illustrator file first, then save as a PDF proof to send to the client. Our issue is that the file appears to save correctly, but when opening the Illustrator document a few days later, we find that only SOME of the changes were saved. Now keep in mind that I've only saved the document once, why would only a few changes save from one single save point?
On top of this, our PDFs come out without any problems, and all changes save just fine.
This is a major issue for us, as we need to be able to trust that ALL previous changes save, as we use the Illustrator document to create subsequent versions. We don't have the time to check through every minute detail to make sure that the file saved properly. This should be a very basic function of the program, yet it is creating big time headaches for us.
Could it be that we are saving as PDF first, then as AI? Would that somehow affect the ability of Illustrator to save properly?
Firstly, I'm using Photoshop CS6 on Windows 8. I'm using a Toshiba Laptop with a GTX 630m. My graphics drivers are up to date.
Usually Photoshop works fine, but, occasionally, when I open another file, or make a new file, the new "tab" that opens up is completely blank. All of the files that I already have open work fine, but the new file is completely glitched out. I've included a screenshot of the error. No amount of zooming / resizing of the window/switching from full screen / etc. The only fix I have been able to find is to completely restart Photoshop each time this happens.
When I select multiple PS tabs and Publish them all to a pdf, the pdf file that is created has a small lock next to it UNLESS I select AutoCAD's default location (my documents). If I select a project folder and name the pdf whatever I want, it puts the small lock. If I let it put it wherever it wants, it doesn't.
Even if I change the default location through Publish Options, it will add the lock. I need to be able to select different folders every time so I need the option of selecting where to put it.
How to stop it from making files with the lock icon on them?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was trying to make an after effects icon on the dock ( I have a MacBook pro running mavericks )I have a subscription to the creative cloud - and have downloaded after effects CS6 . but....
Now when I try to open one of my After effects projects it says " Error message something about I need to uninstall the older version of after- effects and then it listed a preset ( blur) and when I close the window , there were approximately 30 similar windows with the same message , but a different preset,( blur this or that )
So like an idiot I went to my applications and dragged my after effects app icon to the trash ( there were two of them) and then emptied the trash- Now all my After effects files are greyed out with small green text that says "exec"
I cant open my AE(after effects) files, I went to the cloud to re-install it and it says it is alll updated , should I do a uninstall? How do I do that? can I do that and then re-install AE CS6?will adobe make me download the newer CC version?I don't want that version because all the computers at my school run CS6.
So, I use many of the same brushes. If I copy a path from a file that uses a certian brush to another file that uses the same brush, I get a duplicate of the brush in the brush panel.
Can I stop this from happening?
How do I go about converting MOV files into DV or mpeg files to edit? When I import the files are choppy I downloaded the quicktime, dvx and direct x files. No success.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with After Effects being unable to process image files in the correct order when making time-lapse videos.AE seems unable to identify the correct chronological order from the camera generated file names and the files need to be re-numbered with a number prefix.
However sometimes even after re-numbering AE still cannot order the files correctly and will generate a video with either individual or blocks of frames out of order.
I have another app (Video Velocity) that can also suffer exactly the same problem and which will often process a video with the exact same individual or blocks of frames out of order as AE.
However VV has options to order the files in various ways including ‘sort by file create date’ in which case the time-lapse video will be processed correctly. AE doesn’t seem to have this option? Or does it?
I'm trying to change a few MTS file(AVCHD) to .MOV files,is this possible using ProX4? I have tryed this but the sounds is all messed up or the video is always sticky when trying to watch the outcome.

Just got a Kodak si8 video camera for my bday... It records in MOV - I am able to open them up and I get through the whole video - 7 minutes... then I go back to clip some areas and the sound gets choppy!?? If I save - close the program and open up again -- I get the sound AOK again ???

I import any mpg file which are known to have sound and when i ty to play it there is no audio at all from Pro X3. This has been working all along and it just seems to have stopped. I have made sure of the obvious things.We get sound from other apps so the computer and speakers are fine. I have checked the sound icon from within Pro X3 and it is turned up to max.
I'm editing MPEG-4 PAL HD files from a Samsung Cam. After editing, I want to create a MPEG-4 HD file with the same profile (1920x1080 at 25 fps). Choosing MPEG4-HD profile, 30 fps files are generated. Also defining a MPEG4 custom profile with H.264-MAIN type and 1920x1080 resolution, the fps is locked at 30 (at lower resolutions, like 1280x720 the frame rate can be modifies). Ist it a constraint of H.264-MAIN video type ot a bug ?
Please consider that VS X3 is installed for PAL Video System and choosing Bluray profile or AVCHD profile PAL HD files 25 fps are generated.
On the spur of the moment I bought a cheap little Medion [Aldi] HD digital camera which offers five options for recording - 720P60, 1080P, OVGA, WVGA and HD. They all produce .AVI files which play OK on my laptop but when loaded into VSX3 I get the message ‘file not accessible’. The rudimentary ArcSoft program provided with the camera [and now on my laptop] handles the files OK.
