VideoStudio :: Template Defaults To Frame Based?
Jun 20, 2012I'm using the HQ 4:3 template in VS11+ but noticed it's defaulting to frame based. My clips are mpeg's BFF. Shouldn't this template be switched to bottom field first?

VideoStudio :: Cannot Render A Frame-based Video
Apr 15, 2011Why I cannot render a frame-based video when selecting (Share/Custom/MPEG Transport-stream)? My goal is to create an AVCHD video and burn it to a DVD (4.7G). My video is 16min long and the calculated bitrate is around CBR 15,000 kbps. If I use the (Share/ADVCHD/1920) option, I don't have any control over the settings. I have already deinterlaced my video using Neoscene. That is why I want to create a frame-based video.
Below is my workflow.
Two video sources:
.mov(1080p) from ContourHD 1080p camea
.mts(1080i) from Canon Vixia HF S100
1. Trim .mts files in CSV PX3
2. Trim .mov files in Contour S/W
3. Convert trimmed clips to .avi with Cineform Neoscene
4. Edit in CSV PX3
5. Planned to render in AVCHD, 1920x1080p, 29.97 fps, 15000 kbps
VideoStudio :: UFF Or Frame Based For HD Footage Burned To DVD
Sep 21, 2013When you are burning HD footage (video type H.264, Upper Field First) to a DVD, do I keep the project input and output on UPPER FIELD FIRST? Or am I supposed to change both to FRAME BASED?
This is what I know:
SD is Lower Field First
HD is Upper Field First
"Still Photos" is Frame based
I had a videographer tell me today that to burn HD to a DVD i'm supposed to use FRAME BASED. And HD to a BLUE RAY disc is UPPER FIELD FIRST. I thought Frame Based was only for Slideshows.
I'm currently using Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 Ultimate
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 16:9
Video data rate: 8000 kbps
Audio data rate: 128 kbps

VideoStudio :: Field Order Frame Based Should Alter?
Jan 26, 2013When creating DVDs from sony mini DV tapes. I followed the lower field first, LFF, in capture and project settings and then for the properties in the burn phase.
On these new clips I have just created I could not find the field order for interlacing, so I used the 'trick' of creating a new project and inserting the clip into the project time line, then as UVS tries to match the project properties to those of the clip, I find from the propeties that the field order of the clip is "frame based".
This is intended for a PAL DVD so is this something I have to change to either UFF or LFF in the project property settings, or can I leave it as frame based. Will this impact the quality ?
What does it do for lacing when it is "frame based" ?
ps I believe this frame based busines is something to do with systems that do not use interlacing to fool the eye with 25 fps x 2 ~ 50 fps
AutoCAD Inventor :: Object Defaults Based On Active Standard?
Jan 20, 2012On a daily basis I work with two different types of drawings; machining and fabrication. The machine shop prefers dimensions in decimal inches, and the fab shop only understands fractional inches. Is there any way to set up the styles/standards/templates to allow me to pick out which type of drawing I am creating and have Inventor use the correct object defaults for the dimensions?

Feb 29, 2012is there any way to delete a mesh based on frame? I have an object that fades to nothing after it's use is done, at frame 3000 say, and I was wondering if there was a way to just delete the mesh after that. Normally I would use vol select and a deletemesh modifier, but those seem to mess with the Pathdeform WSM a fair amount. This is really more for the sake of optimization, since that's around a million polygons that are still there, and making my poly count look silly high. Currently using the visibility track to make it vanish.

Oct 19, 2013I have just started to play with painting creator and would love to use it but I have two issues. Firstly, I always want to use the pencil with brush size 8. It appears that every time I launch painting creator, everything is reset and I have to select the pencil and change the size. Second, my biggest issue is that when I draw something, I would like it to stay on the screen for a few seconds once the drawing has finished. It seems to disappear immediately the drawing finishes.

Nov 1, 2010I recently had to reinstall Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 because of some missing/damaged files (long story). Anyway, I downloaded Title Pack 6 so I had some more, well, titles. Afterwards, when I tried to use the new titles, after moving them to the timeline and double clicking to edit the text the problem starts...
1) There is no text box to edit text or the text box is REALLY tiny (so tiny I cant resize it) and tucked away in the top-left corner of the preview box.
2) The font defaults to a ridiculously high setting (~150-200).
3) When I try to type something in, nothing happens.
4) When I click off the text box I get an error message saying "Font Apply Error!".

Apr 13, 2013I was wondering if a template used to create frames using the create frame tool in autocad civil 3D should have the same datum, projection as the files that are being referenced? Or is the template independent from from the reference files and does not need any datum, projection setting applied to it?

Jun 14, 2011I made a new template for creating a 30Mb/s "one keyframe/frame" MOV output content which worked well when set via custom settings. When I wanted to use my template in the "create video file" prompt, my VSX3 "needed to stop" ...and I was asked to send the .DMP file to Corel tech support. VS restarted OK, but once I selected "create video file", same story: stop.
Trying to delete form the movie template manager, same story: stop. Changing the settings to lower performance MOV in the temlate manager worked, but still same result when trying"create video file". Couldn't wait for the Corel support. Full reinstall solved the problem.
VideoStudio :: Can't Save BD Submenu From Template
Nov 4, 2011I use VS Pro X4 Ultimate with SP1 on a new installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit system. I try to create a BD menu with submenu, but I can't save my changes in the submenu. I understand from a other topic, that I must use a template and save these changes under my Favourites Gallery. I do the steps like in the topic below, but I never get button “Add to menu template” to save it. Where is this button?
"By Customize you are changing the template, after which the “Add to menu template” will become available, now you can save the template, which will show in the Favourites gallery.

Oct 10, 2013In one the former VS (from Ulead times) there was a rustical opening book template. The book with brown or red cover opens and the pages could be edited ( i have it on my earlier videos ) . I am unable to find this template on my computers and there is nothing similar in the VS X6.

Nov 9, 2010I am struggling to make a custom movie template for sharing to a video file. I use the menu Setting, Make Movie Template Manager.What I want to make is:
- Compression: H.264
- Resolution: 800 x 480
- Audio: AAC Stereo
- Video bitrate: 1500
- Container: MPEG-4
But it seems I cannot use this X3 software for that. Especially the resolution, why the "custom" resolution is greyed out (disabled)?The reason for the above movie template is for playing on Android mobile phone.
VideoStudio :: Disc Template Manager Is Deleted
Jul 7, 2013I'm creating a Blu Ray disc on VSP Ultimate x6 and deleted the four Blu Ray Templates under Disc Template Manager.
Not a problem you may say, as they can be made again, renamed and saved. However, the Video Data Rate is greyed out and is always CONSTANT.
Meanwhile, as I render my project to a Blu Ray clip in preparation, the Video Data Rate is always VARIABLE. Now, I can set the amount to say, 20,000 kbps in both but
1/ How can I change the Variable/Constant part?
2/ If I can't, will it re-render these clips just because first render is variable and the Blu Ray disc creation instructs constant?
VideoStudio :: How To Change Template Landscape Pics To Portrait
Nov 5, 2013I have download the offical template 075 -080 HD-project template and like it so much. But I am having problem changing some of the picture to portrait so as to fit my pictures. I have try two ways of changing it
1. Directly replacing the picture with my portrait picture but black strips on are both sides.
2. Adding new portrait pictures to the project and copying the attribute (less the size ) over to my picture but the attributes does not fix properly to the pictures. The picture change to a tiny small picture.
Why when I add picture to the timeline on the track it always go to the end of the timeline and I have to move them back to the specific timeline. How to to quickly change the pictures from landscape to portrait and how to add pics to timeline without pics moving to the end of the line.
VideoStudio :: Unable To Change Menu Template Or Create DVD
Sep 6, 2012On a particular project, when I go to 'SHARE' CREATE DISC' DVD' NEXT' I am unable to change the Menu template. An error message box tells me 'Failed to change menu template'
Program then hangs, if I try to close, I get another error message 'The program has encountered an unspecified error, Contact Corel technical support and send the dump file for analysis' The message goes on to specify an address for the dump file which I can not find.
Other projects work normally, I am able to change menu templates and create DVD discs.
Even with the offending project, I am able to create a Video file without problem.
VideoStudio :: Template Error For 2-pass X264 Vfw Encoding
May 30, 2013I am trying to do 2-pass encoding on 640 x 480 Mjpeg.avi 30 fps clips using the free x264vfw codec. The first pass works ok. But when I change the codec config to Multi-pass, I get an error message when I click ok to save it.

Mar 4, 2013I have been using the nine chapter thumbnail DVD menu template. I saw that the start position for each thumbnail could be manually adjusted. So, taking some time, I adjusted each of the nine thumbnails to a suitable frame of the corresponding clip. It worked fine as long as I burned the DVD immediately afterwards. However, if I closed the menu dialogue, all clips reverted to frame 1.
Surely the positions should be saved as are all of the other edits one does to a menu. Not only was this frustrating, it means that one cannot go back and easily burn another DVD from the same project.

clips that I have used successfully with VS11+, and film that I have taken with my camera which I have been using for years.It is not HD and I intended to burn a standard DVD.However, at 99% of rendering a message showed saying "Frame 329 is unreadable".I pressed ok.Nothing is showing in the folder that it was hopefully being saved to .Lwr field 1st-DVD PAL-7000 video data rate-384 audio data rate-save as mpeg files -----all properties I have used before with no problem.My only change is now to use 16.9 aspect ratio.

Jul 26, 2012user of Corel Videostudio pro x5 and gradually getting to grips with the functionality, however I have come to a dead end on one issue. I have edited a video ready for sharing and have gone to create a disc with a menu. I did not want any of the existing menu template so managed to create my own using a photograph as background and adding text I have managed to edit the text to change font etc but when it comes to the navigation buttons I cannot seem to be able to edit the properties. When using customise I can choose the different styles of button but cannot change the colour of the buttons to suit my template colour scheme. For some reason whenever I run a preview the play button always turns out to be pale blue colour. Currently on the create disc function I am selecting DVD for testing purposes instead of burning expensive Blue Ray discs however when finished I will want to burn blue ray discs.

Feb 11, 2013Using VS4. The largest frame size for MPG4 output is 720zx576. I cannot specify custom frame size as the area is not available (dimmed out). what gives? I want to try and move from WMV at 12870x720 but the frame size for MPG4 is not customizable.

Attributes: 24-bit, 1280 x 720
Frame Rate: 29.970 frames/sec
Sound:
Compression: 16-bit, Little Endian
Attributes: 48 KHz, 16-bit, Stereo
I wish to record to DVD disc at same or similar quality but 720 x 480 is the best I can seem to get from VS x 4 Pro "Ultimate".
In: Settings > Preferences > Performance > Video Save Options > Frame Size - "User Defined" is not available and the highest resolution in "Standard" is 720 x 480. Where is the information I need?
