VideoStudio :: DVD Menu Template (Adjusting Start Position)

I have been using the nine chapter thumbnail DVD menu template. I saw that the start position for each thumbnail could be manually adjusted. So, taking some time, I adjusted each of the nine thumbnails to a suitable frame of the corresponding clip. It worked fine as long as I burned the DVD immediately afterwards. However, if I closed the menu dialogue, all clips reverted to frame 1.
Surely the positions should be saved as are all of the other edits one does to a menu. Not only was this frustrating, it means that one cannot go back and easily burn another DVD from the same project.

adjusting the music clip volume on a menu.....I see that you can adjust the duration and fadein/out but not a volume adjustment.

On the two movies that I have created DVD's for, I have the same problem on both.
When I play them on my DVD player, they do not go to the Menu (Title Page), instead both just start to play the movie. I can only get to the Menu page by pressing 'Menu' on my remote.

On a particular project, when I go to 'SHARE' CREATE DISC' DVD' NEXT' I am unable to change the Menu template. An error message box tells me 'Failed to change menu template'
Program then hangs, if I try to close, I get another error message 'The program has encountered an unspecified error, Contact Corel technical support and send the dump file for analysis' The message goes on to specify an address for the dump file which I can not find.
Other projects work normally, I am able to change menu templates and create DVD discs.
Even with the offending project, I am able to create a Video file without problem.

user of Corel Videostudio pro x5 and gradually getting to grips with the functionality, however I have come to a dead end on one issue. I have edited a video ready for sharing and have gone to create a disc with a menu. I did not want any of the existing menu template so managed to create my own using a photograph as background and adding text I have managed to edit the text to change font etc but when it comes to the navigation buttons I cannot seem to be able to edit the properties. When using customise I can choose the different styles of button but cannot change the colour of the buttons to suit my template colour scheme. For some reason whenever I run a preview the play button always turns out to be pale blue colour. Currently on the create disc function I am selecting DVD for testing purposes instead of burning expensive Blue Ray discs however when finished I will want to burn blue ray discs.

VSX5 .I click on the text, the size handles show, I right click the text to raise the font attributes box, I change the colour in the box + click OK. What exactly do I have to do next because the text colour has not changed and I cant find out how to do this…

For some reason my cloning start poition has stopped working. Normally you select clone tool / press alt/ right click at position where you want to copy from /right click again at new position you want to copy to / I am now getting: "could not use clone stamp as area has not been defined". I thought it might be fault on keyboard, but is the same with new keyboard and I have reinstalled CS4.

With an object selected and the Selection tool active, I press Return to get the Move dialog box.
For some reason, there seem to be random values entered in the Horizontal and Vertical fields. Instead, I just want the boxes to always start at 0 so that I can decide where it moves, instead of having to clear these fields manually.
how to get this box to behave as I want it to?

I am having problems with my drawing template, I can make changes no problem, but when I use the template to start a new idw file the changes are not in place.
For example; view preferences, I want to work in third angle, I have this selected on the template but each time I start a new idw I have to change it from 1st angle.
e.g. 2; sheet size, I changed it from text to a drawing property, but it doesn't change when I edit the sheet size.

Using VS X5 - Just making up a menu for my dvd im burning. Haven made a menu since using ..VS11+ I think it was.
All seems very very familar...similar etc and not asking it to do anything out of the ordinary which 11+ couldnt cope with ( just nowadays using all this AVCHD malaky etc )
Question -Main menu of my dvd - Why am I getting on my main menu page the begininings of my movie!!! I have my main menu setup ( bringing in a pre-made 30second clip on which I will put 'Press Play to watch movie' and/or 'chapter select'. ) When i preview my main menu page...I see the 30second clip i wanted but as it runs so too does my actual movie - at the same time.
I cant seem to find a button to ..basically..tell it not to play the movie as soon as you load the dvd but instead to wait until the 30 second main menu runs and automatically reruns etc until YOU decide to press the 'Play movie' button.

I've have saved a video/photo project that also has several audio tracks. These tracks all seem to be at different audio levels. Is there an easy way of adjusting them all so they will play at similar level ? Or do I have to go into each one and rely on my ears to get them to sound about the same?

Is there a way to adjust left or right stereo volume separately? I recorded a live performance with vocals to left and music to right so I can have more control of the mixing levels. So far the only thing I can figure out is to import the same video file into the music track and duplicate the audio so that it plays left, and the video track plays the right.

I like part of a preset Title effect, but don't want all of the animation sequence to play.
The full animation of the preset Title effect is: Letters of text flies in from all different directions to form a static word and then letters fly off.
I would like to only have the letters of the text flying in and just remain on the screen. I've looked at customizing the filter (Zoom Motion) and altered / deleted key frames but cannot stop the text flying out. Is this possible, or is this too deep an operation for the program to handle?

Have just got new PC with Windows 7 OS. LR 4.1 64bit is installing insofar as I can see (from purchased disc/DVD) but not responding when I try to open it. When I click on desktop shortcut or try to access from Start Menu it defaults to Task-bar. I have not been asked for serial numbers etc. either.

I make family videos that have photos and video clips in the order taken. I then add a background music to the music track. I have always been able to lower background music inserted in the music track over the video clips, and then bringing the level back up after the video clip is over. With VS X6, this is not working any more. One hears the level of the music lower and the level comes back up but not at the places that I have done them. Most of the time I use the Smart Music, but I have seen this problem with other music.

I have VS X2 and I want to put some photos into a video I'm making.
I have video from a Panasonic PV-GS200 which gives a 24 bit, 720x480 AVI file. I have the Project Properties set to:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 4:3, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
And the Preferences for Image set to "Keep aspect ratio".
I have a small handbook from Ulead (from 2004 when I purchased video gear) which says that the pixel aspect ratio of DV is rectangular whereas the pixels in my photos are square. And this difference will cause photographs to become distorted as those square photo pixels are stretched to become rectangular pixels in the video.
My question is: do I need to crop my photograph correctly before I insert it into the timeline in VS X2, or is there an option/feature within VS which will handle this transformation for me?
Here is how the book says to crop photos:
for 720x480 NTSC-DV crop photos to 720x576
for 720x576 PAL-DV crop photos to 704x576
It further recommended using PNG file type for photos and to keep the image dimension (resolution) low, e.g. 720x576, in order to avoid artifacts in the video - only doubling the above crop dimensions if a pan & zoom filter are going to be employed. An image dimension of 720x576 seems really low to me but I am not used to working with video.

All the products installed on my Win 7 Pro 64 Start Menu show the jumplist properly, including Corel X5. This is not working for X6. Yes, I know I can use the Open Recent. menu once I am in CorelDraw.

I've installed R2014 Suite, but I’m unable to Migrate Settings from the Start Menu after rebooting.I have both R2012 and R2013 installed on this computer. The Migrate Setting Tool doesn’t think I have a previous release installed – Error Message3.Then when I open R2013 (not R2014) and try it, I get Error Message4.

How does one position a clip along the timeline where it needs to be? I'm either doing something wrong or there is a bug in the software
dragging a video clip(any format) from the library to the video track results in the clip being placed at the beginning. I cannot be drag/re-position it along the timeline. Also, the clip can be shortened using the handles on either end, but cannot be expanded back to its original size in the timeline. for now, I'm using the trim markers to do so. I contacted tech support & received a head-scratching out-of-context reply. Either they're not understanding me or don't care.

I have a high res image of a map and I want to add it to a project and ZOOM in to a particular spot on that image.
I also want the image to stay unzoomed for a short time, then zoom in and then remain zoomed in for a short time.
I have added two 'key frames' (using add key frame) and have applied the zoom between them.
My problem is how to make sure the image doesn't move between the start and the first key frame (and between the second key frame and the end). I know that I can drag the RED CROSS using my mouse but I am finding it almost impossible to end up with the image without at least one black stripe on one edge (ie image not centered).
The result is that the resulting video clip moves slightly on the screen between the start and key frame 1 (and also between the zoomed in image at the second key frame and the end of the clip).
Is there a method like 'snap to grid) to force the image to the same place as the previous key frame?

when I run setup.exe for x4 all I get is what looks like an error window that is blank for an instant then nothing but the desktop . I am running on W7 Home Premium as admin. X3 is installed and operational also VS 12. Drivers and Windows have latest updates. I always try the install after computer restart.

When I am in the sound mixer and select for instance the music track, and want to drag the note symbol down toward the surround speakers, I have to hold the note with the mouse all the way of the entire music clip, otherwise, the symbol note returns slowly back to the center.
Is there any way to keep the note symbol fixed in the desire position without holding the mouse all the time of the entire music clip? I am using VS4.

I have not used it in a few months went to start it up and all I get is the splash screen and the little time circle but nothing happens. Says it is not responding and shuts down. Worked fine when I last used it months ago. No real change in the computer. It was a paid for copy. I looked for my old downloads but can't seem to find it yet, must have burned it some back up media. I found the serial number on Corels website under my account but no redownload.

Recently purchased VS PRO X4.Firstly very glad that I did as it includes lots of features that I once longed for (previous versions I have are VS9 and VS10).
Cannot start the capture graph..I have read another post from a user who also experienced this problem but after reading the replies I could not find a fix for me.I have PRO X4 installed both on my notebook (for use when on vacation) and on my desktop PC.NOTE that I do NOT experience the problem on my notebook.
Today when I attempted to capture video (for the first time) from my Vidcam using my desktop PC I get the error.I am capturing to DV.I do NOT have any problem capturing from the same VIdcam using VS9 on the same PC.
