why my photoshop 7 all of a sudden will not open? I uninstalled it...restarted my computer...reinstalled 6 & 7(update) and nothing. It did not put a short cut on my desktop either. I tryed to open it from the start menu..still nothing
View 5 RepliesWhenever he starts Photoshop up, all of his auto recovery files open. For example - when he goes to open a psd of a web design, he will get about 25 files opening with the title "JobName recovered".
I had a meander around the forums looking for possible fixes and information about the Auto Recovery feature, but so far have not been able to cure this ailment.
I have previously disabled the Auto Recovery feature as well as deleting the auto recovery files, yet this was only had a band-aid to amuptation effect. The auto recovery files have reappeared and are now opening again upon start up.
On the two movies that I have created DVD's for, I have the same problem on both.
When I play them on my DVD player, they do not go to the Menu (Title Page), instead both just start to play the movie. I can only get to the Menu page by pressing 'Menu' on my remote.
I have been using the nine chapter thumbnail DVD menu template. I saw that the start position for each thumbnail could be manually adjusted. So, taking some time, I adjusted each of the nine thumbnails to a suitable frame of the corresponding clip. It worked fine as long as I burned the DVD immediately afterwards. However, if I closed the menu dialogue, all clips reverted to frame 1.
Surely the positions should be saved as are all of the other edits one does to a menu. Not only was this frustrating, it means that one cannot go back and easily burn another DVD from the same project.
Have just got new PC with Windows 7 OS. LR 4.1 64bit is installing insofar as I can see (from purchased disc/DVD) but not responding when I try to open it. When I click on desktop shortcut or try to access from Start Menu it defaults to Task-bar. I have not been asked for serial numbers etc. either.
View 4 Replies View RelatedA lady who sits next to me at work had a problem with her Help menu in PS (F1 help). Some how it opened and got stuck in a loop where it would open about 10 times. You then close each one and it would open 2 more. Close those two and it opens 2 more, and so on and so on....
She said it happened when she tried to use the basic "Adjust Brightness Contrast" option. I like to think I am an above average PS user but this one got me stumped. I couldn't Ctrl+Alt+del or anything. The only way I got it to stop was to Alt-Tab back to PS and super quickly start pounding the Esc key. now she tells me this happens all tht time for her.
All the products installed on my Win 7 Pro 64 Start Menu show the jumplist properly, including Corel X5. This is not working for X6. Yes, I know I can use the Open Recent. menu once I am in CorelDraw.

I recently installed a student version of Maya 2012 on my home computer so I didn’t have to work from college for a project, but I have run into some issues.
Not sure what is going on with my Maya but it won't open files unless I actually go to it in the browser and double click on the file. Even once I have done that I can only save over it, save as doesn't work. I also can't create or set projects. There are probably more problems but these are the ones I noticed/really need.

I have down loaded PSE11 for only a few days but suddenly when I try to open organizer from the start screen if fails to open successfully and leaves only a blank screen. I can only get into the organizer screen by first starting the editor screen and then getting into the organizer from the editor screen.

Okay, so the simple macro i have been working on isnt just for personal use. We will use this macro all day long - but the issue is - my coworkers im sharing the macro with would prefer the macro open when program opens.

I'd like my company color palette to be present when I create a new document.
I've tried saving the a color group as .ase but when I try and open my user defined swatch library, it's not clickable. That's a workaround for what I want anyway. It seems like there used to be an option called "persistent" in older versions but how do I get my colors to automatically appear when I'm using CC?

But the "open with " in right click context menu doesn't show photoshop among the listed programs. i tried reinstalling it but the problem is still there.I did 'Choose default program and navigated to the Photoshop .exe for the 64bit version. To open .cal drawings, I've alway hit the "insert" tab and selected insert raster image from the dropdown menu.
Today, the "insert" tab doesn't create a dropdown menu. It opens a whole "insert" toolbar without any reference to raster images.

I took my computer to the Apple store for them to look at it. They said that even though we are telling it to open in 32, the program is ignoring that command and opening in 64 bit, thereby causing my plug-in not to work.

Forcing me to (command) 0 for full to screen preview or (command) +/- to see the image.I am not talking about seeing the image at 100% resolution just the entire image within the floating window without having to command before view.
Sidenote: Adobe Customer Service is all based in India. I spent 4 hours on the phone only to hear that this is that way photoshop works. There would be no logical explanation for this. I'm trying to start Excel and show the results of some BOM items I have written to a file like item number, part number and description.The task is to find components in an assembly that have a part number longer then 39 characters, due to ERP limitations.
What I´m doing is cycling through all BOM (structured) items on first level and check if the part number is longer then 39 characters.
I write these item number, part number, description to an Excel file (temp.xlsx), so the user sees which Components he has to check for the Part Number (make it shorter). I figured it would be best to do that with an excel file, so the user can save the results to a new file or just check it.
Values will be erased from the temporary excel file afterwards.Here I can't figure out how to start the excel application and open the file in an actual application window if possible.

When I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c: drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C: drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C: drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users AdminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users<your logged in username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6.Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.
Since the recent 4.4 update I can't add Lightroom 4.4 to the Windows 7 right click "open with" menu. When I try to add Lightroom.exe to the menu it simply doesn't get added.
