View 2 RepliesIve been attempting to import AVCHD video footage captured on a Panasonic into Premier Pro CS6 on my MacPro. I've tried this from the camera and after copying the entire folder to my desktop. The footage is there, but has no audio!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using X3. I encountered a problem today with captured DV files: I can't open them with VideoStudio. Some weeks ago it was possible to open those files. When I try to import them, VS says: "Unable to open file". I can open them with BSPlayer and Mediaplayer Classic (and sony vegas). With VLC Player there is a message that the file is "broken" but I can still see the video (but audio goes crappy). I've installed shark007's codec pack. I have also tried to reinstall videostudio, but it didn't work. I have a massive project file with many DV AVI files, and I can't see the files.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAwhile back I captured some video from my old DV camcorder. I am finally getting around to it again and noticed some interlace problems with the video. Not sure why it is there in the first place.
The original video was captured using AVI with "DV Video Encoder -- type 1". I tried to re-render the clip using Upper Frame First, Lower Frame First, and Frame-Based with no change. I then tried again with SmartRender turned off. In this case, with Smart Render off and selecting Frame-Based, I was able to eliminate the interlace artifacts. I don't really understand why that worked though?
I was then going to re-render all the clips using Batch Convert, but I don't see an option to disable SmartRender from the Batch Convert dialog. Is there a global setting in preferences to disable SmartRender? I don't want to re-render all clips one-by-one.
Earlier this year I purchased a Panasonic HDC-DS800 high definition camcorder. After years of editing ATI files, I'm going to use my VideoStudio (X4) to edit AVCHD files.
To get the files from the camcorder to the computer, there are 2 options. One is to go directly to the SD card on the camcorder through the My Computer option. This gives me .MTS files, which I can transfer to my hard drive.
The other option is to use the software supplied with the camcorder, which is HD Writer AE 3.0. This transfers to my hard drive .m2ts files. Along with the .m2ts files, it also transfers (or creates) .tmb files, .pmpd files, and .cont files.
Have put VideoStudio4 on my PC.I'm trying to use it with a new Panasonic HDC SD900.
I used the camera's software to download my video files on to my PC.
Corel VideoStudio 4 has a capture mode and an edit mode. I’d been using edit and then trying to browse for my files so I could add them into my library for use in that film. It couldn’t see the .mt2s files.
I’ve now tried connecting the camcorder and using Corel’s capture mode. Someone had suggested that to find my files I needed to follow private, then AVCHD, then choose BDMV, then choose the folder STREAM. But there’s nothing there.
I can't open raw files from my new panasonic lumix fz 200 with photoshop CS4 on my mac. I downloaded the 7.2 DNG converter and still cannot open the files. Does the converter work with CS4? Is there something else that I should use? Is there a special place to put the converter file?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I open Panasonic RW2 files in both Photoshop Elements 9.03. and Photoshop CS4. My camera is Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX70.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got a new Panasonic SD700. It should effectively be the same as the other Panasonic 700 camcorders like TM700 and HS700, but this one stores on memory cards only.
Now, with my VS 11.5+ (Windows XP SP3), clips whose length is 1 minute or less work fine, clips that are 2 minutes cause my VS 11.5+ to crash when I try to preview them. So, I can insert all my clips in the VS timeline. SmartProxy is on and with SmartProxy Manager I can check that the proxy files are created (although it takes a very long time).
Then I do nothing but try to play a preview of the clips. Clips that are 1 minutes or less play well. Then I have two clips that are almost exactly 2 minutes. These 2-minute clips play for some 5 or 6 seconds, then the picture halts but sound goes on for another few seconds and at roughly 10 - 12 seconds I get the typical message "this software failed, do you want to send a report to Microsoft ".
The same problem occurs whether I directly copy the MTS files from the memory card and then insert in my timeline in VS or download the clips to my hard disc with the HD Writer software that shipped with the camera and that renames them to M2TS.
This is repeatable. Rebooting does not work. I installed the latest directx today. The total duration of my test projects have been 2 - 4 minutes. All my test clips are 1920 x 1080i PAL, with a bit rate of 16800. The Panasonic software is able to play the clips well. Project settings are default DVD.
I'd like to be able to make AVCHD discs of my footage as well as standard DVDs for friends and family who don't have BlueRays yet. A year ago I was able to edit some footage from a friend's camcorder and produce both DVDs and AVCHD discs from that material. The clip properties then were close to the same as what I am using today. But now I cannot even get started.
For production artwork, I need to create a High-Res PDF file.
I know I could use a PDF printer to create the .pdf file. The problem I'm having, is that they provided me with a template, which also is a .PDF file.
I need to import this template into paint.net so I can paint over it. Is there a way to open .PDF files and maintain their dimensions (>300 DPI)
They mentioned: Certified High Resolution PDF files with norm PDF/x-1a:2001
Photoshop (any version) has historically had an issue with typing speeds. If you type too fast, double letters will come out as single letters. The previous line would've looked like this: "If you type to fast, double leters wil come out as single leters"
This mainly happens when typing fast, and any of these conditions are met:
- the file is big
- you haven't restarted photoshop in a while
- you've been doing some work (lots of history states)
Basically, as soon as the memory fills up, Photoshop's responsiveness becomes pretty poor when you're typing.I don't expect a solution for this, other than a patch/update, since this is an issue on any machine with any (performance) settings.
Is there a way to have VSP3x retain the filenames of captured components? It seems to like renaming my videos from "Video XYZ" to "1110024-589211-import.mpg" I know it does this when I multi-trim - and is there a way to rename these so I can keep track of what is what?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm in search of an answer for a MAJOR problem I am having! When I capture pics to a file for a project, they are renamed to a time and do not stay named as my original file. It is absolutely necessary for the pics to be in numerical order for the projects I do. I see an option to sort, but it sorts by new name (time) instead of the original file name. I've not been able to find an answer and I have a HUGE project that must be completed tomorrow evening.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know that VS can capture DV and split-by-scene and add the date to the timeline. What I was wondering though, is there any easy way to render all of the split scenes with the date information as separate files?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI previously used VideoStudio 10 to capture and then edit my DV Camcorder files, this was on Windows XP and I never had any trouble with this. I have just captured my final DV tape with this camcorder (I'm about to get a new camcorder) on this old PC, however I have now got a new Windows 7 PC, and am now trying VideoStudio Pro X4. I have moved this captured AVI file to the new PC but as soon as I try to import it into VideoStudio I get the following:
File format mismatch
1081:1:3
I have used some other software to convert the AVI file into a DVD compatible MPEG2 file, so I guess I could do my editing on this instead if all else fails?
Although I configured 'scene divided' the VS x3 captured only one file. On another computer the scenes were divided.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use two cameras to capture video. I have been using my Sony DCR-SR47 Almost since the day I bought VSX3. I am still using both. However I am now having stuttering in the audio. I do not have to render the video. I can import the video and play a clip fine, once I trim it then do a playback without rendering it I get the stutter. It occurs at regular intervals.
Here is an example [URL]..........
The audio is also giving me a "reverb" effect. Like a barrel effect. This is the input format of the footage. This is the output footage
Here is another example, here I converted to AVI, yet same effect. [URL].......
Output: Using Windows XPSP3 with all current updates. And have all codex installed. I did switch from using CCCP codex package to K-Lite recently.
PSE 12 has a new feature under Preferences/Camera or Card Reader called "Alutomatically Stack RAW and JPEG." Checking this will stack a RAW & JPEG file combination, i.e., when shooting with the camera's RAW + JPEG setting checked. In my case PSE 12 appears to stack my Panasonic RAW files and each JPEG thumbnail shows the right facing arrow to expand the stack. When I click the arrow the arrow disappears but the stack does not expand to reveal the RAW file. The RAW file still exists on the hard drive, but I can't find any way to reveal it in PSE (I've not tried to re-import the RAW files because there are a lot of files in a lot of folders.) This is rather critical and needs to be fixed.

The camcorder is a Panasonic HDC-SDT750 and it connects to my computer without problem and is recognised by Windows (7) MY Computer is a Hewlett Packard S5206, Windows 7 64 bit.
I am using VSX5 and have downloaded the latest version of Hewlett Packard's video drivers and the latest version of Direct X.
I'm running VSproX2 and I'm trying to capture video from my Panasonic DVX100 camera. I have some Christmas stuff I want to edit. I cant seem to get VS to recognize the Camera. I dont know if it's a setting in the camera or a bad firewire (4pin) port.
Does the camera need a driver to be loaded? Should the PC have recognized the Camera when it was plugged in (like USB devices)?
I have the camera set to VCR mode. In VS, I go to Capture and select Capture Video. It says "Either no device is installed, or the device is not connected". Nothing is listed in Source or Format.
I have just upgraded to VideoStudio Pro 5 (from 4) as 1080/50p editing is now available in the upgrade; I shoot my source footage on a Panasonic HS900. Whilst I will edit my footage at 50p I cannot, of course, create a video file to burn to a BD without losing image quality, with Blu Ray only accepting a 24 fps frame rate. I understand after editing my footage in 50p I will then need to re-encode the video file to back to 24 fps if I am to maintain full '1080' quality and I'm wondering which of the 'drop-down' video file templates I should be using to achieve this?
I cannot seem to find anything in FAQ that exactly 'hits the spot'.
Here is Mediainfo for file that VS X6 nor X5 can handle. It simply dies as soon as the file is placed on the timeline. Any reason this Panasonic GH3 created file can't be used in VS? (60p editing is enabled)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have VSP X4 Ultimate and a Panasonic TM900K. I have been recording mostly in 1080p for the best quality, but I have notice when compared to VLC or another editor, the preview window's quality is very poor. On my 1080P monitor it looks no better than a DVD. This, in of itself, is not a big issue, but it does make it hard to use VSP X4 to do fine video corrections.
The one that is is when I play down-converted videos from VSP X4 (To 7Kbps DVD) the quality is visibly worse than with my other editor. I have been testing on my playstation (just playing the mpeg 2 files via my media server) (the PS3 is set not to up-convert). When I try to do the same thing on my computer using VLC I do not see much of a difference, but VLC is doing a lot to render on the PC (de-interlacing and all).
My Adobe CS5 can't read RAW files I'm attempting to PP in it from two new cameras. What good is having software that is suppose to be able to read RAW files when it won't for new equipment. Surely it should be able to adapt to newer cameras as they come along.Today I tried downloading a sample RAW file from a online review of the new Canon 5D Mark iii. It starts to open in CS5 but then says it can't read RAW files from this camera either. How do I change that in my Photoshop CS5. I havn't tried it in Elements 10 yet. will it do the same thing and will I need to change the settings there too? I can post process RAW files from my Canon XSi and XTi without any problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to use Photoshop CS6 ( all updates installed ) for editing my videos captured by the Panasonic GH2 camera. I tried all ways of opening the video0001.mts file known to me ( pressing the + symbol, pressing the little film symbol, open as layers ) , and the video itself is shown and played in PS, but the the sound is switched to off and cannot be switched on.
Is there any special setting required or will I have toinstall a special codec for these files ? As the camera is pretty old, I thought for a full compatibility with CS6.
why cant itransfer raw files from my panasonic g3
