View 14 RepliesI previously used VideoStudio 10 to capture and then edit my DV Camcorder files, this was on Windows XP and I never had any trouble with this. I have just captured my final DV tape with this camcorder (I'm about to get a new camcorder) on this old PC, however I have now got a new Windows 7 PC, and am now trying VideoStudio Pro X4. I have moved this captured AVI file to the new PC but as soon as I try to import it into VideoStudio I get the following:
File format mismatch
1081:1:3
I have used some other software to convert the AVI file into a DVD compatible MPEG2 file, so I guess I could do my editing on this instead if all else fails?
I'm using X3. I encountered a problem today with captured DV files: I can't open them with VideoStudio. Some weeks ago it was possible to open those files. When I try to import them, VS says: "Unable to open file". I can open them with BSPlayer and Mediaplayer Classic (and sony vegas). With VLC Player there is a message that the file is "broken" but I can still see the video (but audio goes crappy). I've installed shark007's codec pack. I have also tried to reinstall videostudio, but it didn't work. I have a massive project file with many DV AVI files, and I can't see the files.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAwhile back I captured some video from my old DV camcorder. I am finally getting around to it again and noticed some interlace problems with the video. Not sure why it is there in the first place.
The original video was captured using AVI with "DV Video Encoder -- type 1". I tried to re-render the clip using Upper Frame First, Lower Frame First, and Frame-Based with no change. I then tried again with SmartRender turned off. In this case, with Smart Render off and selecting Frame-Based, I was able to eliminate the interlace artifacts. I don't really understand why that worked though?
I was then going to re-render all the clips using Batch Convert, but I don't see an option to disable SmartRender from the Batch Convert dialog. Is there a global setting in preferences to disable SmartRender? I don't want to re-render all clips one-by-one.
Is there a way to have VSP3x retain the filenames of captured components? It seems to like renaming my videos from "Video XYZ" to "1110024-589211-import.mpg" I know it does this when I multi-trim - and is there a way to rename these so I can keep track of what is what?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm in search of an answer for a MAJOR problem I am having! When I capture pics to a file for a project, they are renamed to a time and do not stay named as my original file. It is absolutely necessary for the pics to be in numerical order for the projects I do. I see an option to sort, but it sorts by new name (time) instead of the original file name. I've not been able to find an answer and I have a HUGE project that must be completed tomorrow evening.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know that VS can capture DV and split-by-scene and add the date to the timeline. What I was wondering though, is there any easy way to render all of the split scenes with the date information as separate files?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf Video studio x2 or x3 is capable of editing video captured with this camcorder and is it a difficult process to transfer video into video studio ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use two cameras to capture video. I have been using my Sony DCR-SR47 Almost since the day I bought VSX3. I am still using both. However I am now having stuttering in the audio. I do not have to render the video. I can import the video and play a clip fine, once I trim it then do a playback without rendering it I get the stutter. It occurs at regular intervals.
Here is an example [URL]..........
The audio is also giving me a "reverb" effect. Like a barrel effect. This is the input format of the footage. This is the output footage
Here is another example, here I converted to AVI, yet same effect. [URL].......
Output: Using Windows XPSP3 with all current updates. And have all codex installed. I did switch from using CCCP codex package to K-Lite recently.
VSX4 can not open .MP4 files captured in high speed with Panasonic fz-200.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there A away to Use the Camera Record button to Control the Recording and Pausing of the Captured Video within Corel?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using VS for quite some time, along with my Panasonic GS500. When capturing my video, VS would create a file for every start /stop of the video. I shoot high school football. This is extremely convenient for cataloging plays, because each play is its own file. I know that "Split by Scene" is available, but it does not create a file for each play.I recently purchased a Canon XH-A1s and wanted to move to HD. will the new Canon camera and VS Pro X4 provide for the same type of capture, when optioned for HD.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using VS Pro X4 on a Windows XP Pro PC. When I 'capture' video from by vidcam (DV tapes) using 'split by scene' all the resulting clips all contain the first frame of the following clip.
I had this problem a year ago using my laptop on a VIsta Business platform and though that perhaps the 'problem' had something to do with Vista (well Vista isn't everyone's ideal platform) but now I am experiencing it on an XP PC so I am thinking that it is caused by VS Pro X4.
Is there a fix for this and/or a setting to stop this annoying problem. I am thinking that if No then I should reinstall VS 9, which I never had this problem with, just to allow me to capture video by scene correctly.
find a way to import the XML files to fix the digitized look Adobe capture gave my footage.
These are not XML from Final Cut. They are files saved from Media Express, a Black magic design program used for Capturing.
it is possible to select a part of a video scene and apply brightness/contrast just to that part of the scene. I have a scene with a sign in the foreground which is in shade whereas the rest of the scene is well lit.
it is possible to select part of an image using the 'magic wand' feature of Paint Shop Pro and wondering if this can be done within VSX4.
I guess it could be done the hard way of splitting the clip into separate frames and then brighten the sign in each frame using Paintshop Pro and then 'reassemble' the frames back into a video clip but this would be very time consuming.
Ok, just got and installed the box version of VS X4. Uninstalled the TBYB ver and then installed the boxed full version. It retained all the custom instant projects I downloaded for the TBYB ver and all other downloads. I went through it all to see what content was added and saw a lot of new content.
But when I went to the Disc authoring program I saw only 6 basic and boring menu templates under AVCHD and Blu-ray and only 3 templates under BD-J while all the smart scene menus were found only under DVD?!?
Why are the smart scene menus missing from AVCHD and Blu-ray?
I also find it sad to see the 3D menus in the really bad DVD Factory Pro 2010 not available in X4 but interesting to find the templates in instant projects.... any way of making these DVD menus for AVCHD or Blu-ray?
I have used my Video Studio Pro X3 to creat a few videos. When I now try to creat a video the split by scene buttion is greyed out. I dont think I have done anything with the settings on my Camera a Sony HDR CX7EK. I record in standard definition and the file created has an extension .mpg with 720x576, 25 frames per second. The only difference this time around is that I took the memory card from the camera and transfered it to the computer with a reader instead of using the sony transfer and charging docking station. Strange is that I can also not split by second when using old projects where I could split scnenes some 6 months ago.
I also did read in a few other posts the button is greyed out if you record in analog cameras, which is understandable, but to my dissmay it seems like splitting by scene does not work on HD recorded files, is that true as i have used the HD function in the camera and created AVCHD files with file extension .MTS and plan to creat a few movies later on?
I have made six slideshows and saved them as mpg files. I have not made any chapters. I now want to do a DVD menu. What I would like to try is a first menu screen with two options "Play All" and "Scene Selection". Play-all will play all and then return to this first menu page. Scene-selection will go to a second menu page. Any scene selected will play and then return to this second screen which will have a link back to the first menu. I'm really at a loss to see how to do this using the menu creation in VS. Is it possible?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using VideoStudio Pro X3 on my Windows XP Pro machine (see profile for specifics) to capture and edit video from my Canon Elura 100 MiniDV Camcorder. The problem I am having is that VS Pro X3 is stopping the capture during scene changes. It stops both the software and the camera. This does NOT happen on every scene change, but happens at differing times throughout the tape. It requires me to restart the capture from that scene forward. This happens regardless of whether or not I have the 'Split by Scene' option enabled. It is frustrating to have to sit through the entire tape restarting the capture at various scene changes. Previous tapes I have used Windows Movie Maker to capture the video. I have tried WMM to capture these tapes and it does work successfully without stopping at scene transitions. A related question is on Data Rate. The data rate listed under the properties menu in VS Pro X3 is almost 2x for the clips captured with VS Pro X3 vs the same clip captured with WMM while all other attributes are the same (including file size)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded trial of this and it seems easy and good app. I have still images at the beginning and after that the video starts
[image 3s] [image 1s] [video][video][video][video][video]
I want to make the [image 1s] longer than 1s but cannot drag it's end or modify the second field any bigger. It wont accept.
Also cannot move the video after it because it always remove the gap. So how to make middle image stay longer ?
I have recently captured video (6 tapes each tape to a separate folder on disk and 'folder' within VS) from my VidCam (DV tape) and selected 'split by scene'. I was using VS9 as at the time I was having problems using Pro X4.
Every clip/scene captured for the first tape I captured to disk includes the first frame from the following clip. This only seems to have affected the first tape I captured.I will have to cut the last frame from each clip if I rearrange the order of the clips on the timeline.
VS9 enables users to virtually split clips by scene before adding them to the work space. It does not split the actual file but just keeps pointers to the various scenes. VS9 keeps this data in a file named scenedb.dat. However if the clip is moved to a different location then the scene information is not re-linked and is essentially lost (as far as VS is concerned) although the data is still in the scenedb.dat.
Is there any way to go around this problem and recover the scene info after a clip is moved?
That is, besides not moving the clips to a different folder than the one it was in when the scene data was first generated and/or re-generating the scen information?
I tried simple editing of the file path in the .dat file but this does not seem to work. It would be nice to understand the encoding rule for the scenedb.dat file to 1) update it 2) use it to generate some index db outside of VS (e.g. html page).
I would really like to be able to save edited photos to disk, i.e., overwrite the original. I know this is a breach of some universal law, but I would LOVE to be able to make changes in Develop mode in LR, then overwrite the original file on disk. In my opinion, if the photo in LR resides in a folder, then edits should overwrite the file in the folder. If the photo resides in a catalog, then only changes to the catalog image should be made.
Is there anyway to get LR 5.2 to overwrite photos in a folder with the edited version?
How to make a synchronization between the scene in After Effects and PSD file?
Such a problem - was created composition from PSD, I made animations in AE, and then in the PSD appeared new layers that are not picked up automatically like old layers.
Yes, I know where the options to select the arrowheads are (ex: start/end, concavity...etc). But when I create my line, none of the arrowheads are displayed. Not sure what the problem is? Is there an option I may have inadvertently selected which may have turned these off? I am using in Windows Photoshop 5.5. I've used them on this desktop before, again - not sure what's going on here.
Also, is there an option to add arrowheads automagically to the Pen tool in photoshop?
Every time I attempt to open a drawing in Civil 3D (r2012) I receive a message stating "The configured Heidi Driver cannot be loaded."
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave open a old max scene. And it take a very long time to save. That can have multiple reasons. Found a new (for me):
My old scene has a "render output" path to a no longer exists netzwork drive. This slow down max on save. Don't know why max access the output path on save ;( Slow down is also the Assert Tracking dialogue and "Render Output/Files..." Dialogue... Maybe max always tries to access the not existing network drive, every time ;(
ve seen many posts about this type of error, however, I do not see how to correct this in 2012. I am operating 2012 architecture in Windows 7 through VMware on an IMac. I have run 2010 and 2011 on this machine without this issue but now 2012 has this issue. I check Performance Tuner Log and the 3d device is VMware SVGA 3D.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a maya designed animation model file (filename.ma) with 3000 frames. I want to split it into 3 maya scene files each of which have 1000 frames.
How can I do this in Maya 2012?
Why does Photoshop reckon 0 divided by 0 is 0 when doing arithmetic with colour components?I guess the program logic assumes 0 divided by anything is 0, never proceeding as far as considering that a divisor of 0 is involved. But I wonder if this handling of 0 / 0 is deliberate for a reason that eludes me.
For a non-zero number divided by 0, Photoshop produces the maximum value of a colour component (e.g. 255 in 8 bits). That is sensible and the same result should arise from dividing 0 by 0, surely. (Other graphics software does consider 0 / 0 to produce max.)
Look at the contrived example below. The black disc in Divide mode should result in a white disc, but wherever an underlying colour component is 0, the resulting colour component is 0 instead of max. (Don't bother measuring the pixels in the screenshot - they've been converted from sRGB to my display profile then to sRGB again without infinite precision.)
Is there a printable list of all configured (default and custom) shortcut keys?
