I have received a bunch of files that are named "clip.dv". I can play them using VLC Media Player. It tells me the file type is "DV Video (dv )". Video Studio X4 will not allow me to import the file.

They are all a special form of .mov
I can play them in VLC Media Player (but not Quicktime, or WMP) so I know that a pc can handle them...
When I import into CS6 I get an errorsaying Codec missing or unavailable...
Whered can I get the proper Codec?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm only a few seconds in to my video and a few clips in... and when I play it back I get weird audio feedback like a repetitive noise that appears to be an artifact of decompression. I tried to produce an output to see if it shows up there as well (as opposed to my project view playback) and near the end of processing the short clip, I get an error message:

Is there any advantage to using "file/import media file to library" (which makes a copy in the working folder) vs just clicking on the folder icon and adding them? I've looked at the file size on both the original clip and the imported one and they are identical. I am getting a File Format Mismatch error when I try to import .jpg , .png or .bmp files into Video Studio 5x. and 6x (trial version).If I try using the file menu (Insert media file to time linephoto), I get an error dialog that tells me I can't insert the file because of a few different reasons.
If I try using the Import Media Files folder icon, I get a File Format Mismatch Error. I can open these files with MS Paint as well as Paint Shop Pro so there is no issue with the files themselves. Also, if I just drag and drop the files from File Explore to the StoryBoard frame, I don't get any errors and I can render my video. Since I have two copies, I installed one on my vista machine and I don't get that error. I can import .avi movie and .mpg files with no error.
I also installed Service Pack 1 for Video Studio 5x. I am running Win7 64 bit home premium SP1.
I would like to create a Word/text file and import it into my Video Studio project file for the credits at the end of a play that I have taped.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got done installing the Corel Videostudio Pro x6, I am trying to import my own personal music-audio file into the music track, however when I do the system crashes or another way of saying it, a window pops open saying Corel has stop working. This same problem happen with the x5 Pro version. I notice that the pre-loaded audio files in Corel are files of MPEG-1...do I need to convert my MP3s into MPEG-1 in order for this to work?
I have a few converting tools but none of them can convert MP3s into MPEG-1..
Is there anyway of entering a starting file number for a clip import? Eg uvs101102_123459~0.mpg is just too long for the thumbnails.

I've run into a problem straight away.I've tried to import raw avi files.So I'm using the "Select Import Source Folders" screen.When I navigate to the folder containing the files the OK button is greyed out and won't work.It's greyed out all of the time.

Befoer I bought the program I made sure that it said it would work with .avi files. When I try to upload an avi it says "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".
How do I obain and install the required codec? I have already loaded up all the software that came with the camer, and that software works fine; I assume it already has the required codec. But how can I get Elements to use the codec?
I've had an issue over the last couple weeks with Ae CC where any time I output to uncompressed (audio) codec, no audio is attached. I've verified that my output module was set to Audio Output On. Bringing the file into Pr or back into Ae shows that there is no audio track, even though the setting should have at least made a silent audio track. This happens regardless of the audio format in my composition (.wav, .aif, .mp3), and seems to only occur with uncompressed codec.

ever since I updated to the newest version of quicktime, any file using the Quicktime animation codec stutters and freezes on playback.
This has happened before, and rolling back to previous versions worked then, but isn't working now.
I've gone far enough as to format the computer and reinstall everything, but the problem still occurs. Every other codec seems to work fine. I can work around it by using other export methods, but it's a problem when I need to edit previous or co-workers projects on my machine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy current workflow is to use 3ds max to render image sequences of animation, then to use Media Encoder to convert them to mov files using the Quicktime Animation codec. The problem is that using these clips in Premiere prevents me from scrubbing the sequence timeline fluidly, even tho all of the files are being accessed from a Thunderbolt drive on a Macbook Pro. Even opening them in the Quicktime player causes sluggish playback. The images rendered are 1280x720. Because of the animation being frame based, I need the derived video to not drop frames like some codecs do, so the Quicktime Animation codec prevents that and it preserves the alpha channel in the images. So my question is, what can I do to improve this so that scrubbing the timeline becomes fluid?
