Photoshop Elements :: Creating Slideshow - Codec Not Installed
Sep 12, 2012
I am creating my first slideshow from Photoshop Elements 10 and get the error message that the proper codec is not installed. I have already converted the original .m4a file to .mp3, and that .mp3 file will play in Windows Media Player. But I cannot add it to my show.
Error Message in Premiere Elements 11 (mac) when loading .MPEG videos: “The selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compressor / decompressor (codec) installed.” Question is, how do I determine what codec is needed?
When I try to add MP3 music to a slide show in PSE11, I get an error message that I am missing a codec. I have installed two codecs without any success. Wil this problem go away if I use tthe premier version?

how I would install the RAW codec for CS3? I looked at the instructions, but I do not have "c:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobePlug-InsCS3File Formats" since my Photoshop is installed on the D Drive. I tried adding the plugin to "D:Program Files (x86)AdobeAdobe Photoshop CS3Plug-InsFile Formats" but that didn't seem to do anything (after closing and reopening Photoshop, it still says that it can't open the file).
I'm trying to add audio to a slide show. I've done it before on this computer with no problem, but now it's telling me I don't have the correct compression files installed on my computer.
I've just upgraded to PSE12 and it works fine in most instances. Howver when I try to create a slideshow from a selection of photos it simply stops working and then crashes. Is this a common occurrence?
When creating .WMV from a slideshow in Organizer (11), the photographs aren't showing up. They seem fine in the slideshow, but when I output to .WMV I get the audio but not the pics. I have done this many times before and it has worked fine, not sure why it isn't working now.
I am trying to take these to Premier Elements to create a DVD with menus. If I take the slideshow/project, rather than a .WMV, it tells me it doesn't like .jpg and I get some black frames. In the past, if I created .WMVs.
I have a Dell XPS 8500 with i7 3rd gen processor, 32 gb memory, 2 tb hard drive, AMD radeon 7800 video card, Windows 8, 64 bit. half way through the creation process the program stops and closes, after the first time losing everything I started saving the project every few minutes but it continues to crash. my PC is 2 months old and the drivers are up to date, what gives?
I am using Photoshop Elements 10, and in Organiser I am creating a photo slide show, but when I come to burn the slideshow to a DVD, Help seems to indicate that I can only burn the slideshow using the Premier edition.
It seems pretty simple to just select a few pictures from the organizer, select create, select slideshow. A box comes up asking my preferences and when I say OK, the program freezes.
once I click OK, my program freezes up... I can still use other programs on my computer. photoshop elements 10 freezes when creating slideshow from album.
By relaunching Organizer, I mean close Elements Organizer and Editor if they are open > Delete both the files I mentioned earlier > NOw open the organizer again. Attach the screenshot of the preferences dialog that comes up when you go for creating slideshow?
I have a Canon PowerShot camer and make videos using .avi. I just bought the Premiere Elements 11. Befoer I bought the program I made sure that it said it would work with .avi files. When I try to upload an avi it says "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".
How do I obain and install the required codec? I have already loaded up all the software that came with the camer, and that software works fine; I assume it already has the required codec. But how can I get Elements to use the codec?
I have created a couple of collections but when I go into slide show the images are not visible for creating a slide show. Works ok with some collections but not all. Presumably there is a linkage problem. Using v4.4 on a Mac.
I'm trying to install Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 from the DVD on my computer running Vista. Both installations hang and stall at an early point of installation. The computer then freezes and I have to force shut down.
I have had some issues with the newly installed PSE 12, but the biggest one is that I can not Tag my recently downloaded photos. When I try and Tag I get the message "Error Applying Keywor Tags".
After 3 failed attempts to install Photoshop Elements 11, It seems to be installed. The icon is there, and it shows a file location for it. But when I click on it to open it, I am asked by user account control if I want to allow this program to make changes to my computer. When I click yes, nothing happens. So I can't open Photoshop, no matter what I try.
on my IMAC 10.9.1 with Mavericks. I am very disappointed with Adobe as I paid for service warranty as well ($39) and I am scheduled for another call as the third team tries.Could this be a.s.a.p or should I write CEo Shantanu Narayen and express my displeasure or blog it?
I click on a picture in My Pictures, I go to File, I click on Open WIth and if I am trying to open a NEF file, even though Photoshop Elements 11 comes as an option...picture will not open. And, same if I try a jpg or a tiff file..only there, PSE 11 does not even come up a s an option to open with. In all cases error reads...NOT VALID WIN32 application.
In pse 11 my videos in organizer will not preview. Says quicktime is not installed. But it is. Not in pse my videos will preview when i double click but they do so in windows media player. How do i get quicktime to work in pse? In pse i get a notice that some files are not assigned to quicktime. It says do i want to assign them to quicktime and i say yes.
