Apr 14, 2013I'm planning my purchase of a D7100, and would like to understand the software updates that would be required to process raw files in Photoshop. My current software is: Photoshop CS5.1, Camera Raw is 6.7, Codec 1.12, and Windows 7.
The Adobe website indicates that I need to upgrade the codec to 1.18. I'm OK with that. But, will that codec work with the versions of camera raw and Photoshop that I currently have?

Nov 14, 2012I have a Canon PowerShot camer and make videos using .avi. I just bought the Premiere Elements 11. Befoer I bought the program I made sure that it said it would work with .avi files. When I try to upload an avi it says "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".
How do I obain and install the required codec? I have already loaded up all the software that came with the camer, and that software works fine; I assume it already has the required codec. But how can I get Elements to use the codec?

Mar 14, 2013I have CS2 Premium which I'm running on an older PowerPC Mac (G5 - Dual 2.3 GHz ) running OS 10.4.11. I've had this setup for many many years (registered/activated with Adobe) but suddenly one day I could no longer launch my Photoshop app: when I clicked on the Pshop icon it would start the launch (open) procedure ... and then almost instantly it would quit (in just a few seconds ... before the application even got to the 'title/credit' screen).
I've recently tried uninstalling CS2 (everything except Acrobat) and I ended up doing a manual uninstall of Version Cue. I've been on Macs for 20+ years so figured this would be a pretty straightforward procedure - uninstall -> reinstall and then back to work. Nope.
I'm attempting a fresh installation direct from the original CS2 CDs. In any event, when I try to (re)install CS2 - and after going through the standard screens with Adobe's usage terms agreement and installation hard disk selection - I arrive at the screen where one selects which application(s) to install by checking the various boxes (or alternately, to install the entire suite) but the 'Adobe Photoshop CS2/Adobe ImageReady CS2' line and checkbox are grayed out, so it will not allow me to check them and continue with the Photoshop installation process.

I can play them in VLC Media Player (but not Quicktime, or WMP) so I know that a pc can handle them...
When I import into CS6 I get an errorsaying Codec missing or unavailable...

After Effects :: Uncompressed Codec Won't Output Audio
Oct 15, 2013I've had an issue over the last couple weeks with Ae CC where any time I output to uncompressed (audio) codec, no audio is attached. I've verified that my output module was set to Audio Output On. Bringing the file into Pr or back into Ae shows that there is no audio track, even though the setting should have at least made a silent audio track. This happens regardless of the audio format in my composition (.wav, .aif, .mp3), and seems to only occur with uncompressed codec.

Premiere Pro :: QuickTime Animation Codec Bad Playback?
Mar 18, 2014ever since I updated to the newest version of quicktime, any file using the Quicktime animation codec stutters and freezes on playback.
This has happened before, and rolling back to previous versions worked then, but isn't working now.
I've gone far enough as to format the computer and reinstall everything, but the problem still occurs. Every other codec seems to work fine. I can work around it by using other export methods, but it's a problem when I need to edit previous or co-workers projects on my machine.

Nov 10, 2011I'm only a few seconds in to my video and a few clips in... and when I play it back I get weird audio feedback like a repetitive noise that appears to be an artifact of decompression. I tried to produce an output to see if it shows up there as well (as opposed to my project view playback) and near the end of processing the short clip, I get an error message:
"Unable to access the audio codec driver"

Jan 23, 2014My current workflow is to use 3ds max to render image sequences of animation, then to use Media Encoder to convert them to mov files using the Quicktime Animation codec. The problem is that using these clips in Premiere prevents me from scrubbing the sequence timeline fluidly, even tho all of the files are being accessed from a Thunderbolt drive on a Macbook Pro. Even opening them in the Quicktime player causes sluggish playback. The images rendered are 1280x720. Because of the animation being frame based, I need the derived video to not drop frames like some codecs do, so the Quicktime Animation codec prevents that and it preserves the alpha channel in the images. So my question is, what can I do to improve this so that scrubbing the timeline becomes fluid?
