On a pro account, Vimeo has no time limits. Yet using the tool to upload to Vimeo in VS X4 forces a trim to 25 minutes. Is there a work around? Is there any way to replicate the settings on the Vimeo upload without the time limit? I can't seem to find a way to replicate the Vimeo upload settings using the custom portion, or the mp4 HD portion of the share tab.
View 2 RepliesI'm a new video creator, under a time crunch trying to get a channel started on vimeo. I'm very happy with VideoStudio so far, but I'm baffled by what appear to be limited rendering options.
Basically when I upload to vimeo directly from VideoStudio Pro X6, it doesn't work. It uploads but then just hangs. If I take the rendered file, and upload it directly to Vimeo, the files are corrupted / invalid every time. If I use the MPEG-4 AVC 1280x720 preset to render my video, it uploads perfectly to YouTube but Vimeo says it's a bad file every time.
Here's what is frustrating me: I'm used to the full rendering options in Sony Movie Studio or MPEG Streamclip. With those programs I can easily match the vimeo compression guidelines. But in VideoStudio I can't figure out how to get full access to the rendering criteria? I can go to Create Video File > Custom > Options, but the options there seem very limited. I don't see any way to adjust the vimeo upload preset.
Vimeo's tech support suggested that I compress with MPEG Streamclip - but how should I render my edited video from VideoStudio before I compress it with Streamclip?

They footage was shot in DV CAM on a Sony A1 and the footage and the project is:
PAL (25 fps), Microsoft AVI files, 24 bits, 720 x 576, 16:9, 25 fps, Lower Field First, DV Video Encoder -- type 1 DV Audio -- PAL, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
Vimeo recommends the following settings:
Codec: H.264 (MP4)
Frame rate: same as shot ie 25 fps
Data rate: 2000 kbps (SD)
Choose 640×480 for 4:3 SD video, 640×360 for 16:9 SD video
If you have the option to control the pixel aspect ratio (not the display aspect ratio), make sure it's set to "1:1" or "1.00," sometimes referred to as "square pixels."
Deinterlacing: Maybe - if you are shooting on an older camera, enable the deinterlacing option. Otherwise, you may get weird-looking horizontal lines in your video. With newer camera models, deinterlacing shouldn't be an issue, so you can leave this option unchecked.
Audio
Codec: AAC (Advanced Audio Codec)
Data rate: 320 kbps
Sample rate: 44.1 kHz
When tying to create the file though the frame size for mp4 though does not seem to give an option for 640x360 on the drop down menu. 640 x 480 seems to make it look stretched? Should I choose 720 x 576 as it originally was?
Also, what should I do with the box 'perform non square pixel rendering?' and how does that relate to the pixel aspect ratio info? And what about the bit about deinterlacing - not sure what that means.
I have footage in the following format which I'd like to upload to Vimeo (it was shot on a basic home camcorder some years ago). What would be the best format? I have VideoStudio Pro X5 trial version.

Is this OK? Vimeo said they pillarbox all SD videos (ie. smaller than 1280x720) in order to fit them into their standard player so should I do the Vimeo HD 16:9 option for instance?

I never had a problem exporting my projects as Quicktime MOV files until a few months ago. Now it seems when I create a QT file they come out blurry/ fuzzy/unusable. I have uninstalled/reinstalled VSPX3 and QT (and have tried to do it on several computers) but nothing has worked.

Was able to do it successfully with a video just 2 days ago but for some reason, doing a different video (same videocam & format) it's giving me this error message "The entity name must immediately follow the ',&' in the entity reference". And it won't upload or let me proceed. I have no clue what this means, i tried redoing it and changing the video file name and no luck.

I have been creating an mpg file but I think its better to create an mpeg4 file as it is smaller and quicker to upload I think. I also want to maintain the 16:9 format.
I found the following recommendations on the youtube website: YouTube can accept almost any video format for upload, but for most users we have found the following settings give the best results.

Aspect Ratio: Native aspect ratio without letterboxing (examples: 4:3, 16:9)

My first question is - X2 has a built in mp4 "creator". Is this one OK or is the one downloaded and installed from divx.com better? What should the frame size be? On the compression tab what should the video settings be? As my input file is 25fps does that mean that my output should be the same even though youtube recommends 30fps?
I am not able to upload my files in my creative cloud into photoshop. I don't see the apps on te right side, but my it shows that photoshop is downloaded. Creative cloud is on my desktop, but when I open it I jut see a list of products downloaded.

I inserted metadata via Image - Properties - Comments while in GIMP xcf, saved files to JPEG, and uploaded. Metadata looked OK in JPEG before uploading and is still there in my files, but didn't survive the upload.

Is DNG 7.3 the same as Camera Raw Plugin 7.3? I have read also that maybe Elements 11 doesn't support 7.3 so may need to use 7.2.

Befoer I bought the program I made sure that it said it would work with .avi files. When I try to upload an avi it says "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".
How do I obain and install the required codec? I have already loaded up all the software that came with the camer, and that software works fine; I assume it already has the required codec. But how can I get Elements to use the codec?
I have photoshop elements 10 and a Canon SL1 camera. My friend has photoshope elements 12 and the same camera. She can "open in RAW" under her drop down "file" menu but I don't find that in my elements 10 program? What gives? How do I open my RAW files in photoshop elements 10?

We have a couple of files that were created from Inventor 2013 as dwfx and when we upload them to the cloud they will not display correctly.
They will display correctly in Design Review on my local system.
I am having a new issue with my Lightoom (4) Suddenly, every time I try to upload photos into Lightroom, I get a "Files Cannot be Read" message. I have never had this problem before. SOmetimes it will upload a few out of the bunch, but not all of them. I have tried to change all my permissions settings to "Read & Write" but am still not having any luck. It seems that it works sometimes, but mostly not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using VSX5 Ultimate. I installed a program called drop box and another called Helium. After installing these programs, VSX5 will no longer load. The intro screen does not even come up. I click on my short cut and my mouse pointer spins for a few seconds, then nothing. I have checked my programs and I do not have browser protect, browser manager or babylon. I uninstalled the two programs I mentioned above and restarted my computer but nothing happens still. Should I try uninstalling VSX5 and reinstalling?

YouTube says it is 18 minutes long, Windows says it is 49 seconds long, Windows Media Players says it is 49 seconds long, Windows Live Movie Maker says it is 50 seconds long, and Corel VideoStudio says it is 49 seconds long. The video is too long for YouTube, but I cannot edit the length with VideoStudio or Windows Live Movie Maker because it does not acknowledge the true length of the video!
Video extension: Originally .vob, but I changed it to .mpeg to edit in VS (I've done many times before, never caused an issue).

I just downloaded trial of this and it seems easy and good app. I have still images at the beginning and after that the video starts

I want to make the [image 1s] longer than 1s but cannot drag it's end or modify the second field any bigger. It wont accept.
Also cannot move the video after it because it always remove the gap. So how to make middle image stay longer ?
A curious thing I have just noticed is that I no longer have any DivX showing as an AVI option under Custom in either X5 or X6. Don't get me wrong: I know all about the DivX woes of other users here. But on this same computer, I have always been able to update to the latest version of DivX and use it with no problem. Today I updated DivX to the very latest version, and went to make sure it showed in VS, but it was not there in either X5 or X6. Nor can either program "see" DivX clips I have stored on the computer.
A few weeks ago, I was having trouble getting X6 to see the various proDad and Boris filters added in the Ultimate package. That was eventually resolved, but in the process I had to uninstall and reinstall both versions. Something else obviously happened then and I am pretty sure it removed the DivX capacity, since all I have now showing under the AVI Compression option, apart from uncompressed, is DV Types 1 and 2, and the MJPEG codec. I used to have a lot more, including, apart from DivX, Cinepak, Microsoft mpeg-4 V1 and V2, ffdshow, Intel IYUV and XVid.
FYI, I have tried renaming the 15.0 and 16.0 folders in Win 7 C:Documents and Settings[My Name]Application DataRoamingUlead SystemsCorel VideoStudio Pro I realise that is mainly to do with repopulating the filters, but thought I would give it a go.
I also re-loaded an older version of DivX which I know had previously worked in X5, though I had never checked it in X6 (8.2.2). That did not work either, including after a reboot.
Also FWIW, I uninstalled XVid, which had previously showed up in X5, and reinstalled it. But it still does not show in either X5 or X6, including after a reboot.
FWIW, I have also checked on another computer on which I have X5 (though not X6 yet) loaded, and that has all the AVI filters mentioned above as missing, plus a variety of others specific to that computer (related to a Matrox program I have loaded on it).

Previous versions of the Photo/Video Bundle included the Ultimate versions of Paintshop and Videoshop.
Looking at the web page and box photo for the X5 version of the bundle, it seems to now include only the non-Ultimate versions.
Confirm that the Photo/Video Bundle X5 has been lowered to the Penultimate versions?
Is CS4 now obsolete? If there is something I need to do to reinstall an updater or some such thing--easy peasy step by steps instructions for this granny--nothing that refers to roots (do you mean carrots?). . I hate to think a program that cost over a $1000 has gone the way of the dodo.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have Nikon D60 and recently started shooting in raw when I discovered that Photoshop allows you to then edit the files to a much greater extent before converting them to .jpg.
.nef files used to open automatically in Photoshop (in a separate window, seemingly a sort of add-on designed for raw files?). Now when I try, the software tells me that they are 'the wrong kind of document'.
What's changed / broken? Or have I suddenly forgotten a vital step....?
I've tried downloading a newer version of camera raw, to no avail...
This is the error message I get when I try to upload my raw files into LR4 from my Canon 5D MarkIII:

I recently upgraded from a 5D classic to the MarkIII. Jpeg's upload fine. I've googled, looked in the manual, searched for LR update and nothing has worked.
we write metadata to jpegs and Raw files- saving to Raw database not as sidecar .xmp files. We are no longer able to save the metadata to Raw files. There is no error message, the data writes like normal and the user who writes the metadata can see it but when you open in another computer the metadata fields are empty, however the jpegs do have the new metadata. Was there a setting change at some point? This has been going on for a couple months and I cannot find an answer anywhere. Again, we batch write to RAW+Jpeg, the jpeg files save the metadata but the Raw files look like the data saved but is not visible on any computer other thant he one that added the new metadata. This is occurring on multiple computers, both Mac and PC.

About a week ago, I tried importing a Freehand file, and it won't open in Illustrator. I still get the "Freehand Import Options" pop up window, can still click the OK button, but nothing happens. I've tried re-installing Illustrator, but it hasn't changed anything with the issue.
