I just installed VideoStudio Pro x5. After creating a few clips, I go to play the project and the preview video image studders, and plays a clip here and there, but my music plays smooth.
I have all the hardware acceleration box's checked ( there's 3 of them ). I don't know what to do, I read this is the least demanding video editing program. I also meed the minimum system requirements?
I bought the new Olympus TG-1 camera, and want to edit movies that I shoot so I downloaded trial of latest Video Studio Pro X5 to try it out. But I'm not satisfied with the quality of the rendered file. The result is not smooth. For example, I shot a short movie clip out of the window of a slow moving train. When I play the original file everything is nice and smooth, but when I import the file to Video Studio and render it (without doing anything to it, no effects or anything) the result is a stuttering movie - kind of like some frames are missing, or maybe duplicated... (Sound is just as it should, no problem there.)
Source file is .MOV (quick time) 24bits 1920x1080, 29.970 frames/sec according to file properties in Video Studio. Using GSpot i get the following: codec avc1, name H.264, 19641 kbps, 29.971 frames/sec
I've tried every format under "create video file" in Video Studio but the result is the same every time no matter what I do, although the option "Same as first video clip" is not available (it's dimmed when using clip shot with this camera). My system is PAL and I know that 29.97 fps is not PAL standard, but I also tried rendering custom format where the result was a 720x576 clip with 29.971fps (but kpbs is only 1024) but still the same stuttering movie.
I have been creating a project for some time which contains a lot of video clips.Every now and then I position the 'scrubber' mid way along and click on the 'play' button to check what the effect is at the place I am editing.
Today after adding some more video clips to the end of the project and editing them when I place the 'scrubber' where the clips are that I have been editing and click on 'play' to see the effect instead of VS 'paying' my video from the position the scrubber was placed at it moves the scrubber to the start of the project and plays from the beginning. It was not doing that yesterday (I have added some more clips to the end of the project since then and editing them).This is VERY annoying as I cannot check to see what parts of the movie (project) look like without playing from the start of the project (30 minutes in length).
By the way, i use it for a whole week, and it worked just fine, until today i have this problem.

After some time I decided I want to edit my video again and re-linked the files successfully but now when I try to play my project in edit mode it doesn't play smoothly, it stops and delays. I can't edit in such conditions because I can't preview my work... Before moving my files everything was fine. No changes were made to my computer...
View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased VideoStudio X5 for HD editing of .MTS clips from my Panasonic HS700 video camera. I transfer the clips to my hard drive using explorer and then use the X5 program to bring them into the library and then to the timeline. Due to my volume problem I re-downloaded VSX5, reinstalled it and installed SP1 patch, updated my Video Card Driver to the latest, updated Direct X and made sure my Microsoft Updates are all up to date.
My Volume problem is, during the editing proces you use both the Project playback and also individual clip playback. Without any manual changes to clip volume, when I play an individual clip the volume is substatially higher than when I play the project over the same clip area. This is annoying to me and those nearby. Earlier versions of VS did not do this.
If I change the individual clip volume up or down from 100% then when I play either the project or individual clip the volume remains the same (ie.it is no longer louder in clip mode).
I'm wondering if it is normal for my clips to have jerky preview. I am editing 1080p MOV clips and I've made sure that Smart Proxy is enabled and that the files do exist. Smart Proxy settings are default to activate with any clip that is larger than 720X480. After I've dragged a clip onto the timeline I get jerky preview if I select "clip" and then click play. But if I select "project" it plays smoothly. Scrubbing is also smooth. My question is why are my clips so jerky? It seems that "clip" preview is automatically using the original video file and not the proxy. I'm on a slow computer, but that's not the issue because everything except the individual clips plays smoothly. And yes, the Smart Proxy icon is on my clips and it's had plenty of time to complete the proxy creation. I've even completely removed VS with Revo Uninstaller and reinstalled it. No change.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am a amateur editor and do the basic stuff with the editing like color fixing and cropping/cutting. Since the time, i switched to HD videos the video does not render and playback smoothly in preview mode.
However in other editing programs like Vegas it plays back like butter but i am not into Vegas and i dont like vegas. I use Videostudio only.
the video plays back like in 1FPS or like 2-3FPS i mean the videos one picture is shown then directly after 2-3 seconds. The audio is howver smooth.

A problem with recording narration has just started with my Pro X4. On playback the recording is not complete and the nearest description is that it is stuttering. I have tried recording several different phrases in different parts of the video and using two different mics but each time get this stuttering.

Now I am trying to render a clip which is mpeg 2 format to wmv, it does that no problem, but on the play back it seems to sutter a lot,
no i need to decrease the frame rate or what?
When I play video clips back in the playback window, they shake and stutter and give an "after-effect" look to each clip. Looks like mouse trails if you select that in your setup. I am running the program in Windows 8 64 bit, if that matters, but don 't see why it should. When I play the clips in Windows Media player, just to check to see if it is the clips, none of this behavior occurs. Never ran into this one before and I have been with VS since the good old days of version 4.
I rendered a few clips that were doing that into the final MPG format I want and the shakiness is not there once rendered. It can only mean that I have something ticked or un-ticked in my setup of VS Pro 16 Ultimate. It makes it difficult to stitch together the final clips with pinpoint accuracy.
I just installed VS X3 and I'm very impressed with the improved AVCHD editing capabilities. Unfortunately, I'm having a problem with the output. When I import a single AVCHD 1920 clip from my Canon HF100 to my VS X3 project, perform a simple trimming operation, and then save back to the same format as the original clip (no re-rendering), the output file is virtually unplayable. It will usually start playing okay, but after 5-10 seconds start stuttering and even stop playing altogether for 10-15 seconds at a time. I've tried several different players. This problem affects ONLY the output from VS X3. The original footage in the same format plays just fine in any player.
I reverted back to VS X2, tried the same operation with the same clip, and the output is just fine. This must not be a widespread problem, because I searched the forum briefly and couldn't find similar reports. I can continue using VS X2 for the time being, but I really wish I could take advantage of the editing improvements in X3.
I've made a project in Premiere Pro CS6 with greenscreen footage from a canon XF100 (MXF file).
When I open the project in Premiere Pro CC I can scrub throught the timeline everything is oke.
But playing or rendering the timeline, gives me only the bottom half of the greescreen footage. I see that in Premiere CC the clip with the footage becomes gray after putting an effect on it. When I do this process from the start in CC it works fine. But there are 52 timelines in the project made in CS6.
My slideshows will not play, all I get is blank screen that will not exit, I have to go to task manager just to get out of it. My previews are slow and don't play right, and cuts the music out before done. I am using Lightroom 5 now, I used to not have problems at all, and then before I got Lightroom 5 I had trouble with my print module, and then now slideshow module, I need Lightroom for College, I am at a loss as to what to do next.

I can scrub the timeline and see the animation I am working on, but I need a real-time preview. I downloaded the last after effects patch for mavericks, but I think this is an issue with the Iris Pro graphics card.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn LR4 i didn't get any problem but with LR5 some functions linked to the slideshow turn to a "blank" screen.The problem appears when I try an impromptu slideshow in the library or a play, a preview in the slideshow section.
I reset the default setting in LR, I download the last driver for my graphic card but without success. With LR5.2 RC this is the same.
My O.S: Windows 7 - 64
I have imported a clip from imovies and cannot play back the sound in preview. What have I done wrong?

Opening the overall project and running it on screen is not a problem. However, when I try to create a smart package of the composite project, I get a consistent error message rejecting the process because of the existence of the component vsp's.
Is there a way to avoid the error and create a smart package from a project file that has smaller component project files?
I have been editing video with Pro x3 for a while and have not had this problem unti just recently. My computer died and had to be reinstalled (windows 7 ult). When I import flv files they play but are blank. I have tried a couple of things but none work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm making some music videos, and I thought I'd get the best audio quality using .WAV files instead of MP3 files. Trouble is, when I load a .WAV into my audio track, all I get is a bunch of noise and loud hiss. An MP3 file works just fine. If I play the "clip" in the preview window, each file will play just fine, but the problem shows itself when I play the "project" in the preview window. Is this happening because my computer has choked on all the data, and it's too much for it to handle? Am I stuck with using the MP3 files in my projects?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my Videostudio X4 will not play any clip for longer then a second or two. When you play a clip or the project it plays for 1 or 2 seconds and stops just like you hit the stop or pause button. Click play again and it does the same thing. Makes it really impossible to edit. It had been working great up until last week. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still have the same problem. I have excluded my anti virus from scanning the Corel folder.

When using SHARE-Custom-MPG the program renders the video, then displays a general error message and closes the program.
It seems to play AVI, MOV, MP4, WMV, Webm, UIS formats.
Other players work - ie. VLC , Media Player Classic and DIV-X. A black screen is shown in WIN DVD silver.
I have loaded H-Lite 9.90 , FFDSHOW and Windows 8 codecs, but this made no difference.
I have downloaded and installed Videostudio X6 as a trial, but this made no difference either

I have an SD Pioneer dvd player...model dv-49av. It plays all commercial DVD fine, but never a DVD I burn from VS. However, any DVD I burn from Corel plays perfectly in my Pioneer 23fd bluray player.
Anything I can do to change this? The disk type (-r, +r etc.) doesn't matter and the DVD that won't play plays fine on the computer. The disk loads fine, but when I select play the video or chapter it just locks up and I have to restart the player.
Having produced my first video production on VS4 I made several copies on DVD but I have been unable to get any of those DVD copies to play properly on most DVD players. They all behave differently on on Different players, on some players they won't even start, some will start and play part of the way through before playing up. All copies behave differently on different players. I have been able to get most copies to play properly on my computer.

I just downloaded the trial after upgrading to a new laptop running windows 7 and was told I could not use my videostudio 11 or moviefactory 6 plus. So I have video that I imported from my SDHC card in high def, it played fine until I started adding a crossfade and a couple of slow motions. Now, every video had no sound. I have tried deleting them and bring them back in, but still no sound. It will play music over the tracks, but I have lost all my original sound. I thought I would be able to add some music and lower the original soundtrack at certain points, letting it fade in and fade out, allowing for the original audio to play through and along with the music. I am pretty dissapointed right now and need some answers. Also what happened to the moving menus? I am confused with the templates as well... begininng, middle end or complete. Is that instead of moving menus? Can I not make a moving thumbnail menu with music and chapters?

When i play the converted or edited avi files on my mediaplayer on a Widescreen tv then the video is played may time not full screen. Sometimes it is on top and sides filled with black borders.
I would like the video's always be full screen on tv (off course with good quality).
My question is: how can i see in Videostudio if the video can be played full screen on tv?
Let's say i have 2 video's: divx / xvid 576 x 320 at 25.000 fpsec and 512 x 384 at 188.900 at 25.000 frames per second. Would these files be played full screen on the tv?. How can i calculate that it is 4:3 or 16:9 and what must the preference be in Video studio itself: 16:9 or 4:3?
I'm trying to create a blu-ray movie that contains AVCHD videos of various vacations that I've been on over the past year (just your typical collection of home movies), but I've had problem after problem in trying to create the damn thing. I've used VS Pro X4 to create four individual movies (representing four different vacations, each saved as vsp files); I then created my "menu file" to compile all four movies into a single blu-ray with each one having menu buttons that then go to chapter sections. Then, due to VSX4 never completing a successful burn, I simply had it create the Blu-Ray folders and then used ImgBurn to burn them to disc.
ANYWAYS, what kind of project settings do I need to be using in VS? I will be playing the disc in a PS3 (not sure if that matters as opposed to a regular BD player). I finally managed to produce a successful burn, but it was only able to play once in my PS3 - for some reason after it initially played fine, it wouldn't play again even though there was no damage to the disc. The disc was a BD-RE DL by Maxell. I had previously tried BD-DL Verbatim discs, but I was never able to finish a burn with those.
I'm just trying to figure out why I'm having so much trouble getting my movie from my computer to a playable disc!! Dx

Blu-ray burner that I'm using: Matshita BD-MLT U240AF. It is connected via USB cable to my Vista 64 laptop. All of my drivers are up to date.
Is there a way to change VS X4's setting to play after creating an MPEG file. After I edit a file, I create an MPEG, either DVD or Blu-Ray, and I have to go into options everytime to turn off the play after creating default.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I run my project with sound on, those clips shot with a HDV camcorder do not play the sync-sound recorded on them properly. I know that the sound recorded with the clops is perfectly alright as it plays properly when each clip is run individually. when they are run as a part of the whole in the project mode all I get is an unintelligible beating sound. I also have clips in the project that were shot with a DV camcorder and the sync-sound with them plays perfectly alright in any mode. I am unable to find any mention of sync-sound in Corel's user guide and am at a loss of what to do to make the sync-sound play correctly. I haven't attempted to lay my sound-track for the project yet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have made six slideshows and saved them as mpg files. I have not made any chapters. I now want to do a DVD menu. What I would like to try is a first menu screen with two options "Play All" and "Scene Selection". Play-all will play all and then return to this first menu page. Scene-selection will go to a second menu page. Any scene selected will play and then return to this second screen which will have a link back to the first menu. I'm really at a loss to see how to do this using the menu creation in VS. Is it possible?

Also when I try to open in Zune it gives me an error code and tells me the file is corrupt. I can open it in WMP. It uploaded to youtube and played fine. But I don't want to embed from YouTube I want to upload to my site. I've tried other players and same thing...no luck. So what I finally did is opened up my Camtasia and rerendered from there. Now it works fine every where I play it. Sooo, my question is why won't the rendered mp4 play in all mp4 players?
