Due to reinstalling VideoStudio 10 Plus because of a reported problem with Service Pack 1 [URL], I have lost the clips I placed in special Library Manager folders I had created. Are those gone for good or is there a way to relocate them on my computer?
View 8 Replies1. When creating a subclip from the source sequence, I then go to edit the name of the new subclip in the Media Library. After doing this, the sequence timeline switches to what looks like a viewer, and won't switch out of that mode until I double-click a sequence in the Media Library. This appears to happen when I create a new folder and drag the subclip into it.
2. Clips in the Medial Library within Folders are in sorted order. Please allow the editor to place clips, folders and sequences in whatever order they want, via drag and drop placement.
3. Shift-/ (play in-out) does not appear to work.
4. Names in the Media Library that are too long only show the end of the name. Standard Mac behavior is to show the beginning, then an ellipsis, and finally the end.
5. When viewing a source "timeline" (which rocks, BTW), please remove the name of the source from the timeline track. It gets in the way of audio waveforms, and in this case, is redundant since there's only the one clip anyway.
I am using VS X3 and recently have a problem with it. At the time moive created there are couple clips in dark but they were ok when I edited them in the project status.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Videostudio 12 and have run into a problem when i try to import *.mp4 clips into the library, and for some reason these clips are being cut to 1 or 2 seconds long.
How i imported them was: Clicked "load video" right above the library box selected the videos i wanted to put in, and then imported them. Does it make a difference that i imported multiple files at once?

My VS12 on Windows 7/64 machine with 4G RAM has slowed down dramatically when I have lots of clips in the libraries. I have several libraries based on themes, each with about 10-20 clips of 10-20sec duration (PAL MPEG2 clips, no HD). Loading into the libraries from the external USB2 hard drive is extremely slow. With each clip to load VS12 gets stuck for a while and until all clips are loaded it takes a long time) And when you want to move the scroll bar in the library it does not move, you have to click several times and the mouse just shows the blue ring for a long time and you get Windows to react that VS12 does not respond. When I try to enter a new library it will only show after I click "Close" several times and with a long wait.
When I delete most of the libraries VS12 runs a bit quicker.
All other programs (for instance Firefox and mail) run well and with normal speed (normally I have them closed when using VS12). So it clearly seems to be in VS12. I used VS12 the last time in June to edit a video and at that time it worked well, with normal user friendly speed. Since then I only updated all Windows, Adobe, Quicktime and other important program updates, but nothing else. Also Direct X is updated to the latest version Microsoft issued in June 2010.
I experience the same situation both on my Windows 7 and Windows XP machine (XP having less process power and less RAM, only 2G, but worked perfectly before). Somehow the impression is that the latest Microsoft NET Framework patch could have caused this, but I am not sure and I would not like to deinstall this patch because of the security risks.
I am using VideoStudioPro X3 and I am having a problem with my Library folders and I am thinking the problem is a limit in the number of video library folders I can have. Here's what's going on.
1. I create a new library folder. Lets call it Test1
2. I copy my raw video from my camcorder to Test1.
3. When I pull down the list of Folders I see Test1.
4. When I select Test1, it brings me to the Images folder not the folder Test1.
I was thinking about upgrading to X4, if there is no limit on the number of folders I can have. If that is indeed the problem I am facing.
I really like using the folders in the Library Manager as it works to keep my videos organized instead of just dumping all of them in the Video Folder.

My computer guy got it working again, but my hundreds of files (images, video clips, titles, audio clips) that I had stored in vspx2 library, so neatly organised, had disappeared. It doesn't give me error reason why only says it has stopped working and it can't detect a problem so it closes. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program but the Adobe Application Manager is also acting weird. When it is opened it freezes and soon crashes saying there is a "Download Error".
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I was importing pictures. I followed the same process I have always used with LR. I have LR4.2. In the process, three folders were created and in two of them, 2 subfolders were created. These are primarily stored on a Drobo. After all the imports, I immediately backed up the Drobo to another HD. When I went to show my wife the pictures today, none of the folders, subfolders or pictures could be found. What LR did show me was that on the backup drive, there appeared all folders and subfolders but all had a question mark on them. All the picture previews are there. When I right click, one of the options is "Find missing Folder". They don't seem to exist. Unfortunately, I erased one of my cards from my D800E after I had backed up the files. When I try to re-import from the other cards, LR identifies all the pictures as suspect duplicates. I have never had this happen before and I have been a LR user from the beginning! What happened to the folders and files? How can I re-import from the cards that still have the pictures.

I have transferred some folders from my internal drive to an external (FW) drive. Whereas most of the transfer worked fine, I had the following problems:
- one folder (at least) completely disappeared from LR. The files were moved to the new HDD (I can see them in Finder), an empty folder remains in LR under the "old" drive and there is nothing in LR at the new position.
- an empty structure remained at the location of the old files
- on some folders, I had the message "could not complete the folder move..." and only part of the pictures (or none at all) were moved.
Having problem with sheet views losing all their numbering??
Have been using sheet views since the day they came out. Great for cross referencing and not just call outs. But also lists of materials etc. as well. See attached image.
However recently when opening a drawing, boom the views lost all there numbers and restored the name back to what i originally called the view!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI attended Matt's Kozlowski's LR4 seminar a few months ago. He talked about not using dates to organize your folders but instead use a meaningful description.
So at the time of IMPORT, I add the metadata, keywords and rename the folder to something meaningful. He said the folders cold still be found by date.
So.....on a recent trip to NEW HAMPSHIRE, i did some work, imported files into LR and renamed the files at import into my PICTURES directory on my laptop.
Now that I am home I am exporting as a catalogue but only the dates and not the names I gave at IMPORT for the folders appear in the library module.
DOI now have to go back at the destination and rename all the folders
I must be missing something.
I want to transfer all this work to my main computer but I will just be going back to bad habits using dates to name files.
How do I locate my folders in the Library Module? All that is showing is the "Navigator", Catolog, and "Collections".

I guess it expects me to add a library, but where this symbols library is. Am I supposed to install the entire content package (I really don't want to clutter my hard drive with thousands of unwanted images) in order for symbol manager to be able to automatically find where the symbols are?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled VS Pro X4 about five times and each time re-installed it (in order to clean out any duplicate files of VS Pro X4 that may have been the cause of a crash-on-startup that always happened when I changed the name of the user account). I uninstalled VS Pro again but afterwards the installation wizard of the installer did not work. So now I don't have VS Pro X4 on my computer any more! Secondly, if there is a maximum limit to the number of times the installer works, is there some way to get a new installer or just get one more installation?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't normally use libraries. I'm just not a big fan of them, so if I'm wrong here about a basic concept it's no surprise. My understanding was that if you add a folder location to a project under the library heading (see image) then everything in it automatically becomes read-only when that project is active.
My intention was to test some of 2014's functionality on products that I have drawn in 2013 without mucking up my other designers who I'm not ready to upgrade, yet. So, I copied some assemblies over to a new folder on my network completely outside of the root folder of the normal working directories. I then assigned that working directory as a library in the new project file I created in 2014 specifically for testing it. I expected this to allow me to open my files without a bunch of unresolved reference problems and not have to worry about accidentally migrating files that I'm not ready to migrate.
So, why did I still manage to migrate a bunch of file that are located in the working directory that's supposed to be write protected?! Now I have actual product files that can't be opened in 2013. Luckily, I can restore these from a back-up, but what did I miss here? Did I not check a certain box somewhere or am I missing the whole concept? I really doubt this critical function of Inventor is somehow bugged in 2014.
I cannot use my mouse scroll to navigate up and down the numerous folders I have in my library. I can grab the page bar and move up and down (and while I'm hovering over the page bar, I can scroll up and down with the mouse wheel) - but only when I'm actually over the folders, the mouse wheel doesn't work!
It works fine when I'm in develop mode and I can scroll through all the presets and history.
But when I'm in library mode, the mouse scroll doesn't move my folders up and down ?
in LR3 folder panel if I wanted to filter missing photos or smart collection for selected folder-s, it was possible by crtl+click on a folder to see the selection in the grid which I used quite often. Now it no longer works. I wonder why it's not possible with LR4.
