I downloaded a video and at the bottom is a crawler(bar at the bottom that shows sports scores). I want to crop this off-is there a way to perform this function? I saw the cropping FAQ but couldn't find how to crop the bottom. I am using VS X2.
View 3 RepliesWith the project settings at 16:9 it is possible to insert photos of a different ratio and the customize pan and zoom will allow them to the cropped to 16:9.
I thought I had done the same thing with 4:3 video clips in a 16:9 project by using Video Pan & Zoom in the filters [and I tried the other crop filter as well], but maybe not, as when I tried to do this with a 1280x1040 AVI clip from a time lapse camera the only cropping box it would offer was in the same ratio as the clip. I also tried it with the same clip converted to mpeg, with the same result.
crop a video clip to 16:9 in a 16:9 project in VS14?
My camera (Canon HV30) captures a larger image than what displays in the viewfinder. So after downloading the footage, I realized that there was some clutter around the edges I didn't see in camera.
I've been trying to find a way to "crop" the image to get rid of the clutter. I don't want the overall size reduced, just the image zoomed in to fill the frame without clutter.
I'm sure there has to be an easy way to crop a video and center it, but I can't figure it out. I don't want the video zooming in and out, no panning, etc. Just simply cropping and centering.

I new to VS X5 Pro. I have a very basic question, I'm sure.... Is it possible to not have the computer file name of the video appear at the bottom of the video for the first few seconds? It does fade away but is not acceptable to be there at all. Is this a Windows 7 config issue or something in VS?
I'm the happy owner of the new Corel VideoStudio Pro X5 program. I've resently put together my first video, but then an error occured.
In the preview window i noticed that every time a new clip is being played, the program adds a top line and bottom line, often displaying something from the previous clip in the timeline. I thought this was not a big deal, but then after saving my video as a finish .avi file, the problem was not solved..

The clips are recorded with a 4:3 ratio and 720p, 60 frames/s. When i played the finish created file, i tried in Windows Media Player and in VLC.
Is there an easier way to crop a video than using the cropping filter? I'd love to flip some bit that makes dragging in the border of a video crop instead of distorting the aspect ration. Is there a faster way?

When I produce a MP4 video file in X4 it shows a thumbnail in the video file. I cannot figure out where this image comes from. It seems sometime to be the first video image from all tracks, but sometimes it is just the upper video track and sometimes it is a picture from a later point of the video. How does it work? And how can I control which image is used?

I am trying to place a ticker on the bottom of the video that will be scrolling as the video plays but I can only do a small amount at a time. Is there a way to do one continous ticker that will play instead of having to type one part and then a seperate one and trying to match the same speed so they don't overlap?

Not all edits are possible. I was hoping that cropping with the Rectangle tool would work, so I gave it a try. No luck. Indeed, LR5 tossed up an debugger-style error message.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe organizer in my PSPX5 U only shows video files, AVI, MOV, etc. I will not display JPG or other still image formats. I also have VideoStudio X5 U installed. I removed PSPX4 where the organizer worked properly. I cannot find a setting to disable or activate a file extension other than in the Preferences, where there is no mention of a video format.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a several dozen shots, Quicktime ProRes 422 HQ. When I try to import them into Premiere CS6 all the arrives in the bin is the audio of the clips. The video has been stripped. But if I play the clips outside Premiere - just double click them open and play them with Windows Media Player, they play fine.
I'm not having trouble with any other formats.
Just the ProRes. And I must have the necessary Quicktime ProRes plug-in installed, as the individual clips open and play fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased Video Studio Pro X3 - and after going through the knowledge base and product read me, I have been unable to find an answer to the following problem I have:
PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.
as I have 30 videos to edit, so looking for ways to save time!
I have a LIVE show recorded and I want to add Video Filters in various places within a single 4 minute video. Do I need to cut up my video to segments to add filters too or can I apply them to different spots in a single video?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been searching for a way to rotate surface spot elevation labels but have not been able to find a solution to do so. Has this feature been added to 2013 or 14? I do not want to use the point and label styles for my surface elevation, even though these can be rotated. I have several miles of roadway with many horizontal curves and would like the surface labels aligned with and along the centerline. I prefer not to update the spot elevations when the profile is revised.

I am trying to put several photos on the timeline using overlay tracks. Any taken in portrait layout have large black bars on either side which cover up the other photos on the timeline. I have tried the Crop Borders and cropping effects, but they either don't work as I thought.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a competitor product for video editing and now I am looking for a new product since the support there was really bad. I tried the testversion of Videostudio X4 and downloaded the recommended file from the website which is the german version. I installed it on a XP 32 Bit machine and also on a Vista Ultimate 32 Bit machine.
In both cases the first dialogs (welcome and registration) after running the program are in Chinese language. Now, the problems are:
- Although I can translate the contents by google translator I do not register the program in this case. I don't know what is comming up after that.
- The Corel support does not do anything when you don't specify a registered product.
I record a program with my computer. When I get two recorded, I take each episode and "multi trim video' and cut out the commercials. I do it for each one. Now I have two episodes without commercials I open VS and 'add video to timeline.' I do that for each one and now have two shows i save together. I watch them as a 90 minute movie every two weeks instead of each week 45 minute.
For several years, when I save the video "same settings as the video.." it saves it pretty quick. Just as you would count, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,.... until 100%. The screen is blank when it does this. This has worked fine for years. Resonantly, without changing anything, when I save the file, it goes really slow and the video shows up on the screen when saving. In stead of taking maybe 100 seconds, it takes hours. It never had the video show up and go so slow.
I have a video file created from one of my old VHS tapes. Unfortunately the display shows two rows of tracking lines about two inches from the top and bottom. Can VS ProX2 filter them out?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a series of sheets, each with two viewports to show two plan views of a long road alignment. I arranged them to read bottom to top, as it goes up stationing, as we do with cross section sheets, but have been told by an outside reviewer that the sheets are confusing and should read top down.
How would you arrange them?
It was working fine. Then I just did a simple command (pattern a part) and the entire workspace blinked out. The first time it happened I hit UNDO and it was back. So I got out of the drawing and got back in and tried the pattern again. Same issue but this time when I hit UNDO it would not come back. I closed the file without saving and when I went back in the file the workspace is still nothing but white screen. In the browser everything is still visible except for those that I had already changed to invisible. I tried making an invisible to visible and nothing happened. I got out and tried opening the "old version" which should've been before any of this happened and it is also blank. I can go to an ipt or iam in the browser and hit open and it will open in another screen just fine. I just can't see my main assembly. I have Inventor 2012. It shows no errors or messages. I have even rebooted.
I looked thru the forum and found a past issue back in 2005 identical. I tried doing Find in Window on an item in the browser but for some reason that option is not even in the list when I right click.
Is there any way to push the video in the video track after the title track is completed ....
