Revit :: How To Control Topography Triangulation
Nov 13, 2013Is there a way to control topography triangulation in Revit 2013? I did number of surfaces in Civil 3D and when I brought them as a contour lines in Revit I got not very correct surface.
I wonder how Revit could deal with complicated grading if even simple one is wrong.
I added some polylines for site but it didn't work. Revit tends to smooth, smooth too much I would say. It gave up only when I added extra points within footprint.

Feb 2, 2014So, I've made topography, cut it with building pad, and have those sides between topography and building pad, which I want to paint or attach material to (see picture). And can't find tool to do it. Blue arrow points surface to be painted, but I don't want to change surface pointed by red arrow.

Jul 2, 2012Revit 2012 .I have a topo file linked to the main building file.I am trying to render a 3d exterior view of the building (new construction ).I see the linked topography in black lines in my elevations.but not in the 3d view.
The question/ problem unsolved is how to get the site/ ground to be visible as per the linked topography in the 3d view of the main file . All I see is the building in the air , with a very light greyed site in a block form. I would like to see the site in earth: soil material for me to render the exterior view.

I have included an attachment with a 3D exterior view of the sample project and a project with a "Sideless" site. how the sides in the basic sample project are achived?

Nov 7, 2013I would like the pattern to follow the rotation of the component when inserted onto the project. I can achieve it with model pattern but I would like to use drafting pattern because we need to show them on different scales.The diffuser family consists of a detail family in order to show the pattern. The pattern is already set to align with object and it still does not work.

Feb 28, 2011I'm brand new with Autocad 3D 2011.
I have a plat map that I used topopgraphy to create polygons of all the lots. Each lot has a lot number created as text (not mtext or a block) on a layer that is separate from the layer with the polygons. I need to export the polygons as a shapefile and be able to access them in reference to their lot number. This information should be included with the .dbf file. I can export the lot polygons as a shapefile but the lot numbers are not included. I suspect that I need to do something with getting the centroid to include the lot number text (which I was not able to do successfully.) And then include that with the polygon/data export.

Apr 4, 2012I'm working on a permit where I need to display topographic contours, but have different maj/min intervals depending on the slope of the topography. To me, this seems a little strange and makes for misleading information, but it's what the permit requires.
I'm covering a roughly 5000 x 5000 sq ft area with a partially built landfill on it and a rather changing surrounding topography.

Jan 14, 2013I'm very new to Civil 3D.I've been given original topography in a .dwg file and a .csv file of the same topography after some dirt work.My problem is when I import the .csv file the points don't overlay the original topography.
What I have done is added the .csv points to the original topography .dwg with the "Points From File" option.

It seems easier for me to draw it level so i was wondering if there was a technique where by the pickets remain vertically plumb but you can tilt the whole unit down so the tops of the pickets follow the slope as do the rails whilst keeping the pickets plumb.

Jun 21, 2012I am using C3D 2012. When I draw a fence line (barbwire) it works fine until it is a short section, then the "x" symbol does not show.
You can change the scale but that also changes the symbol size. You used to be able to change this in the command line. Is there a way to do that without creating another style?

Sep 26, 2012I'm currently trying to make an automated fence generator with Inventor 2012 driven by iLogic rules.
My model is done now, and my BOM information (description & part number) is set correctly.
Now is my problem some parts are not supposed to be in the BOM at a certain moment.
Example.
If fence_type = 1 Then
Beam-001 = default
Else If fence_type = 2 Then
Beam-001 = reference
Else If fence_type = 3 Then
Beam-001 = reference
End If
But what do write to set BOM status of a part?
