If there are any places to get topography symbols, I got hired to draw a topography map of a mining area for a client and I am in Desperate need of good quality aerial mountains, trees, dirt, etc. Like you would see on a topography map.
When working in a drawing, I don't see a selection for weld symbols in Annotate - Symbols. Are they not available in LT? Is there something I need to do to activate them?
I have a plat map that I used topopgraphy to create polygons of all the lots. Each lot has a lot number created as text (not mtext or a block) on a layer that is separate from the layer with the polygons. I need to export the polygons as a shapefile and be able to access them in reference to their lot number. This information should be included with the .dbf file. I can export the lot polygons as a shapefile but the lot numbers are not included. I suspect that I need to do something with getting the centroid to include the lot number text (which I was not able to do successfully.) And then include that with the polygon/data export.Â
I need to create a 3d terrain solid from dwg nivel curves (contours). I tried with loft command but the lines are too detailed and my pc takes a eternity to loft just 2 lines and i have a lot of it.don't create a extensive 3d file?
Is there a way to control topography triangulation in Revit 2013? I did number of surfaces in Civil 3D and when I brought them as a contour lines in Revit I got not very correct surface.
I wonder how Revit could deal with complicated grading if even simple one is wrong.
I added some polylines for site but it didn't work. Revit tends to smooth, smooth too much I would say. It gave up only when I added extra points within footprint.
I was given a AutoCAD file (see attachment) and I need to make a visual surface. This is for a university project and I don't have a lot of experience with Civil 3D.
So, I've made topography, cut it with building pad, and have those sides between topography and building pad, which I want to paint or attach material to (see picture). And can't find tool to do it. Blue arrow points surface to be painted, but I don't want to change surface pointed by red arrow.
Revit 2012 .I have a topo file linked to the main building file.I am trying to render a 3d exterior view of the building (new construction ).I see the linked topography in black lines in my elevations.but not in the 3d view.  The question/ problem unsolved is how to get the site/ ground to be visible as per the linked topography in the 3d view of the main file . All I see is the building in the air , with a very light greyed site in a block form. I would like to see the site in earth: soil material for me to render the exterior view.
I'm working on a permit where I need to display topographic contours, but have different maj/min intervals depending on the slope of the topography. To me, this seems a little strange and makes for misleading information, but it's what the permit requires.
I'm covering a roughly 5000 x 5000 sq ft area with a partially built landfill on it and a rather changing surrounding topography.
In the REVIT 2012 Basic Sample Project, the 3d view site has sides or an apron which conceals the building foundations and gives the site some mass. I have included an attachment with a 3D exterior view of the sample project and a project with a "Sideless" site. how the sides in the basic sample project are achived?
Is there a quick way of profiling topography under a undulating concrete floor slab? In other words so that the topography follows the underside surface of the slab. I know this is possible by adjusting each point on the topo surface but is there a quicker way?
I'm very new to Civil 3D.I've been given original topography in a .dwg file and a .csv file of the same topography after some dirt work.My problem is when I import the .csv file the points don't overlay the original topography.Â
What I have done is added the .csv points to the original topography .dwg with the "Points From File" option.
I have a question concerning the symbols on map. You see, I'm making a world map in Photoshop (atlas style), and I am wondering what to use as map symbols (for city sizes and such). So I settled for the standard ones (image below), but how to make these, or how to start making these. Â Should I use the brush tool, or perhaps the custom shape tool (what is the difference between those two?), or something entirely else?
Don't say "Why don't you just copy the icons?", because they are kind of low-res and I really want to learn this myself.
every time I try to type a number or symbol, the blinking line suddenly switches over to the left side of whatever I'm type, and it's like everything is in reverse. I can't type numbers on symbols with the text tool normally at all.I literally just installed it and this problem appeared.also, unless, I make the switch, the blinking line will stay on the left side of the text no matter what. this is really weird. everything I type is in reverse.
Whenever I use the text tool the cursor and symbols and so on are always on the left and when I try and use a symbol they are put at the start of whatever I type.
- Reset Text tool. - Make sure type preference is on default.
I can't insert certain symbols with the text tool. When I type "&" it inserts a "/" and when I type "/" it inserts a "-". I know for a fact it's not my keyboard because it works in any other text editor or text field. Is this just some new weird setting in photoshop cs6?
I have 600+ files with names like: "ad------2~s800x800.jpg" but the photoshop batch process mode is having issues with the filename and outputs it as just "-"
I'm having trouble with getting quotation marks to display correctly, they look like 2 stacked >> symbols. They change slightly depending on what font I'm using, but they all ride at the base of the text. I cannot acheive normal looking curly or straight quotes at all.Â
I have tried switching smart quotes on and off in the preferences, restarting, etc. I've noticed this problem in the past, but I thought it was the font I was using. The same thing happens with Times New Roman. I'm running an up to date version of PSextended CS5, 64bit on win 7 64.Â
I'm trying to create a certain effect that is probably best illustrated with pictures
created by varying the thickness of lines, whether horizonal or part of letters or even symbols.
I don't know if this is even possible using photoshop to be perfectly honest. If that's the case, does anyone know the software that would be required?
