To modify the sketch line of the railing, click Modify | Railings tabMode panel Edit Path.
However, everything after"click Modify | Railings tab" does not appear anywhere on my screen. The only active editing tools are 'Pick a New Host' & 'Reset Rail'. Is there a special Revit handshake of dance that I need to know?
I have a stair that along one side of the sloping part is a window. I have 2 railings along this stair, 1 is a chair rail, the other is a wainscot panel. Obviously the chair rail and wainscot cannot be built to cover the window.
How can the railings be "cut" around the window?
I know how to start/stop the chair rail, but the wainscot needs to continue under the window (keeping in mind that the window is horizontal and the wainscot is sloping with the stair.)
I have a staircase from the first floor to second floor with a total of 3 landings.. I need to fix the railing at the bottom to go down to 3'0, right now its sitting at 3' - 6"... AT 3'0" it needs to connect to the handrail that wraps around (the red)...normally I can just edit the railing by pulling it longer but since it was a place on host railing.. it looks like it loops around and when I tried playing around with that to extend the bottom rail.. it gave me an error..

I am encountering issues with the "edit boundary" tab on the ribbon, as well as "finish sketch" when the edit boundary tab DOES show up. i don't know how to finish the sketch without this, so i have to undo everything.

This sketch symbol uses prompted text to fill in the relevant information for each detail. Is there a way to change the sketch symbol globally and then copy the sketch symbol in to each drawing without losing the prompted text? Currently I have to modify the sketch symbol within each drawing. To keep the prompted text.
I'm a new 2009 Inventor user (use mostly Solidworks for other jobs) and how to make the model update after I modify a feature sketch (e.g. I only add one more circle/hole to a sketch used for a somple extrusion, but the extra hole doesn't appear on the model). Tried all update-related commands but no luck so far. If I delete the feature and recreate it again everything works fine, but I stuff up all other features and mates that use the reference geometry...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an extruded sketch pattern that I have tried to make modification to via the 'edit pattern' function. When making ajustments to the pattern and clicking ok Inventor is taking nigh on 2 hours to complete the function. Then I have to finish sketch which takes another hour or so. Obviously it should not be taking this amount of time. The part in question is a series of extruded holes, nothing excessivly complex, why this is taking so much time to complete ? I am using Inventor 2013 Pro 64 bit, 3.07 GHz,12GB RAM.

I have some sections and am using the break line with a masked region but in Revit 2013 the masked region only works in the Wireframe Graphics display option. It does not work in the Hidden Line display. It was fine in 2012

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just started working on a frame generator assembly I was modelling earlier this year; I can't seem to modify the base 3D sketch. The feature which looks like the original 3D sketch is now called the "Reference Skeleton" and I am unable to modify it at all.
I am working on a copy of the original part as I "save as" the whole master assembly when I was last working on the model. I don't know if this would have effected anything.
I need to change a solid line in a drawing to a dotted line to indicate that it is a hidden line. I know I should use Modify/Properties, I just don't know how to import the dotted line into the properties box.

The Modify tab was kicked all the way to the left on the ribbon to precede the Home tab. Is there a way to reset the ribbon to its default state because, the contextual tabs react to the new location of the Modify tab? I have attached an image.

I am running Revit Architecture 2012 on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit... I was drawing a roof and when I finished and exited out of the edit mode my modify tab was gone and was replaced with the "Modify l Roofs > Edit Footprint" option, even though I was no longer in the edit mode. So I exited out of Revit and reopened it. Now my modify tab is infront of my home tab and how this happened or how to move it back.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to modify a vertical structural wall in elevation view - change from rectangular shape to trapezoidal (to allow a flat roof to drain to east). Did south wall in one elevation; I chose the wall, and it was outlined in red. I was then able to drag the east vertical edge down by a foot, creating desired slope. I now go to another elevation to modify north wall the same way, but when I choose the wall, it comes up with a blue ball in the center of each edge, with little hash marks on either side, and won't let me modify anything. Also, when I choose the wall outline (with the blue balls), I can't get to wall properties.

I opened it and everything seems to be working expect when I draw anything (ie topo surface, wall, etc.), the modify tab is missing all the draw options (line, circle, etc) as well as the Finish and Cancel buttons. This makes it impossible for me to use the software without those. Is there a way they could be hidden or is the software just corrupt?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI’ve installed Revit 2014, but mainly using 2013. When I installed 2014, the button on the 2013 ribbon started acting funny.
When I select an element, a wall for instance, I don’t get the proper buttons under the MODIFY tab showing up. I have to hit the show/hide button on the drop-down menu that controls the visibility of the ribbon & buttons to get the EDIT PROFILE button.
And it doesn't end there; when I get into EDIT PROFILE mode, the proper buttons are not showing up again. Again, I have to do a show/hide with the drop down menu, and then the proper buttons show up and I can edit the wall.
If I then select another element, such as a roof, I have to go through the same two-extra-step process to edit the roof.
I just re-installed 2013 yesterday because I’ve been having issues with 2013 crashing on a daily basis, and then not opening at all. Yet the same problem still happens. I un-installed 2014, and the problem still happens. After I un-installed 2014, I did a repair on 2013, and the problem still persists.
I spoke to my Tech Support, CAD-1, this morning and they told me it’s possibly an issue with 2014 over writing some .NETFRAMEWORK files for 2013 (or something like that). They saw the problem on my system but couldn’t resolve the issue.
I’ve called Autodesk Tech Support, and of course the made a ticket and “will get back to me.” (I’ve not had much luck w/ Autodesk Tech Support in the past, and have a bad taste in my mouth because of it)
I know this option makes all lines the same thickness when printing, but where can i modify this "global" thickness.

I have LT so no LISP. qselect works but cannot be put into a macro.
If I "select all" on a layout tab in paperspace ACAD says 1 of the objects selected is the viewport so I know autocad recognizes the viewport as a different kind of object.
