I am running Revit Architecture 2012 on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit... I was drawing a roof and when I finished and exited out of the edit mode my modify tab was gone and was replaced with the "Modify l Roofs > Edit Footprint" option, even though I was no longer in the edit mode. So I exited out of Revit and reopened it. Now my modify tab is infront of my home tab and how this happened or how to move it back.

First of all, in order to be able to place an aligned dimensions the objects have to be absolutely paralel to each other, so I don't get why when I move the dimension it changes. If the grids were really not paralel to each other Revit shouldn't allow me to place the aligned dimension in the first place, isn't that right?
View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night I was editing an In-Place family and for some reason, Revit did not exit the In-Place Editor properly. The Modify tab was kicked all the way to the left on the ribbon to precede the Home tab. Is there a way to reset the ribbon to its default state because, the contextual tabs react to the new location of the Modify tab? I have attached an image.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to modify a vertical structural wall in elevation view - change from rectangular shape to trapezoidal (to allow a flat roof to drain to east). Did south wall in one elevation; I chose the wall, and it was outlined in red. I was then able to drag the east vertical edge down by a foot, creating desired slope. I now go to another elevation to modify north wall the same way, but when I choose the wall, it comes up with a blue ball in the center of each edge, with little hash marks on either side, and won't let me modify anything. Also, when I choose the wall outline (with the blue balls), I can't get to wall properties.

Normally when you select a wall, it should be possible to edit the wall and its profile, though when a wall is curved, the button "edit profile" is gray. I opened it and everything seems to be working expect when I draw anything (ie topo surface, wall, etc.), the modify tab is missing all the draw options (line, circle, etc) as well as the Finish and Cancel buttons. This makes it impossible for me to use the software without those. Is there a way they could be hidden or is the software just corrupt?

I’ve installed Revit 2014, but mainly using 2013. When I installed 2014, the button on the 2013 ribbon started acting funny.
When I select an element, a wall for instance, I don’t get the proper buttons under the MODIFY tab showing up. I have to hit the show/hide button on the drop-down menu that controls the visibility of the ribbon & buttons to get the EDIT PROFILE button.
And it doesn't end there; when I get into EDIT PROFILE mode, the proper buttons are not showing up again. Again, I have to do a show/hide with the drop down menu, and then the proper buttons show up and I can edit the wall.
If I then select another element, such as a roof, I have to go through the same two-extra-step process to edit the roof.
I just re-installed 2013 yesterday because I’ve been having issues with 2013 crashing on a daily basis, and then not opening at all. Yet the same problem still happens. I un-installed 2014, and the problem still happens. After I un-installed 2014, I did a repair on 2013, and the problem still persists.
I spoke to my Tech Support, CAD-1, this morning and they told me it’s possibly an issue with 2014 over writing some .NETFRAMEWORK files for 2013 (or something like that). They saw the problem on my system but couldn’t resolve the issue.
I’ve called Autodesk Tech Support, and of course the made a ticket and “will get back to me.” (I’ve not had much luck w/ Autodesk Tech Support in the past, and have a bad taste in my mouth because of it)

I mean... my window should be placed on the outer edge of my wall. i try to unlock the dimensions that define its position and then i lock the dimension in the new position; the window seems to be ok but only in the RFA file. When i imported it in my project file, the windows moves in the wrong way in my real wall.

I drag the folder with 500 photos over the photos go but I get a message saying the following files did not transfer and its all my XMP files for the images I transfered. How can I get the folders and the edits to transfer from a 500gb to a 4TB external hard drive
Basically this happpens in CS6 when using the Marquee tool and moving the marquee with the arrow keys or dragging inside the marquee. Does not repeat in CS4.About the only way to make it go away is to reduce cache levels in Preferences > Performance to 1 which is a problem in itself. Refreshing the screen (toggling the Tab key) makes the ghost marks go away but they reappear when moving the marquee. Changing Tile Size does not do anything.
My graphics card is integrated,so aside from buying a new laptop,my options are limited.Maybe a Adobe employee can look at it

Today I have started getting an error message that Photoshop has moved. I only get this message if Photoshop is not running and I right-click on something and choose to Open With Photoshop.
If I launch Photoshop first and then right-click open with Photoshop everything is fine. If the Application really had moved then shouldn't Photoshop complain when I double click on it in the Finder or open it through spotlight?
Somehow I have managed to un-dock the toolbar in PSP X4 as can be seen below..how to get it back so that it is not over-lapping the editing area
View 2 Replies View RelatedI loaded ACA 2014, then customized it with my old .cuix files so all would be 'normal' for me. When I open ACA now I get the following message:
"An executable file was found outside of the specified trusted locations. What do you want to do?"
followed by the choice of 'load' or 'don't load' in a dialogue. (does this for every .mnl file)
My question is, "Can you set something somewhere to tell ACA to load these each time without the dialogue?" This happens every time I open the program. You'd think after I've got it all set and saved my profile and set my workspace, etc. that ACA would figure it out that I 'trust' these executable files.
I have themed a map and added an expression text label to each parcel. I went to move the text of one parcel and it worked fine. Now When I try and select any other labels to move I can't select them. Only the parcel itself will allow selection.

I am using a Mac Pro OS X 10.5.6.
When I click on Ps on the dock a message comes up that 'Application has moved. This application has been moved from the location in which it was originally installed. Some settings need to be repaired.' I have to click Cancel and it then loads. Whilst this is no great hardship it would be nicer if it loaded direct from the dock as everything else does.
Second question, I have three hard drives in the case, one for OS, one for Photoshop and a third for Back up. I also have three external drives for triplicate back up.
CS3 is on the Photoshop HD but when I loaded CS4 upgrade I didnt notice that it automatically loaded on the OS HD and not the Photoshop HD. I would like to transfer CS4 onto the Photoshop HD, how do I do that?
I am building finished piping assemblies from a collection of smaller parts I have been creating and saving with WBLOCK. I found a mistake on one of my parts(I needed to rotate a piece of pipe). Because the sub-part was part of the complete assembly, I could not rotate the sub-part independently so I opened the block in the block editor. Apparently, and this was my original question, UCS commands do not work in the block editor. The result of this fact was that I could not rotate the sub-assembly in the direction it needed to go. So first question: Can the UCS be moved in the block editor?It focused on exploding blocks that would not explode. I thought if I could simply explode the block back into its component parts, I could rotate the sub-assembly. This is where everything went to hell.
I am not even sure what happened but now I have a new definition of the block that will still not explode, references itself, includes other parts I don't want and is just generally making me PDM. I figure it will be easier to just delete the entire block and redraw the components rather than trying to fix my mess. I did try the undo command but it apparently will not undo the changes to the block definition. Second question: How do I remove all traces of a block saved with BLOCK and WBLOCK so I can start fresh?
Third question: I will not create another block until I learn more about them. Any reference related to intelligent block creation?
Lock Axis on "move selection/pixels".
When you only want the selection moved across the x-axis, it would be useful if you could simply hold ctrl and drag with the mouse. This also applies to moving the selection vertically (hold shift and drag). I know you can do this with the keyboard arrows, but it's much too slow on large images.
Dragging Layers I saw a four-year-old post regarding dragging layers, so I think it would proper to reiterate it. It would be very useful when you're dealing with 20+ layers.
Merge "move selection/pixels" history When you move a selection with the arrows (on one axis), it should not be recorded in the history window until the selection has stopped moving. Currently, the history gets polluted with "move selection/pixels" whenever you hold down the arrow keys to move a selection. (You can click+hold the selection before using the arrow keys to prevent this, so I'm not bothered whatsoever if this is implemented or not. )
CS6 using Mac OSX 10.8 (And earlier versions) won't allow me to move placed items unless I quit and re-start!

My OS is OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.4I start up CS6 from my normal location which is the CS6 icon that resides in my dock.if I select the update button, it has no effect, the application still gives me the same message each time I start up.
i'm on a Mac. upgraded from cs3 to cs6. I opened a new Photoshop file and went to do an action that I normally do with this type of file. (I have created my own action.) But Actions is no longer where it used to be — which I think was in the History area, but I'm not sure, I just go by feel. In any case, I can't find anything having to do with Actions. Where is it hiding?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD Architecture 2011. I have been working in a drawing for several weeks on casework. I have multiple viewports on my sheet layouts. Up until now I was able to select the viewports and move them or make them bigger or smaller with grip edit but now although I see them I can't select them or even delete them. I can double click within the viewport and change the scale or modify the items in the viewport but I can't do anything to the viewport in paper space.
I have turned all the layers on and made sure that none of them were locked. I have tried regen. I have opened a new tab and tried to create new viewports and I have the same problem. I can create them but once I do I can't modify / move them.
Beyond that when I switch from model to paper space it takes about 5 min. sometimes longer to switch and the same thing when I save it or close it. Is that normal?
