View 5 Replies View RelatedI am hoping to link text items between pages and items in the drawing such as elevations?
So, ideally, I would have a front page to my drawing set, and this would have a 'Contents' type table on it, with the title name of each drawing in one column, then the drawing number in the next column. This is the tricky bit, someone must know: If i was to change the name / number of any item in this table, could it change also (linked to) the following items:
Drawing title (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Drawing number (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Elevation call-out (on the plan view)
And possibly:
Excel reference cell
Drawing layout tab title (this might be pushing it!!)
Perhaps this could be done by linking to an external Excel spreadsheet with these titles modified in there? I'm not sure. This would be ideal as typing into excel is a lot easier than the triple click text modify method required currently.
I waste a lot of time renaming and updating sheet names / titles / numbers. Are there standard templates for drawing sets that may have this built in available anywhere that I could try?
I saved a file last night and now this morning I get an error message stating: "Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open. Try closing some windows and try again.". I've rebooted the system and made sure Photoshop was the only program running and that there were no other files open prior to trying to open my file. I increased Photoshops ram usage, checked the OpenGL settings, 3D and VRAM settings, cleared my temp files and am at a loss for opening this file.
System Specs:
Win 7 64
6 core I7 processor
32gb Ram
3GB VRAM
600gb free space on 7200 rpm drive
File specs:
1 3D object replicated maybe 5 times (yes, I should have rasterized them, and will do that to 4 of them if I get the file open)Maybe 8 textures..Not sure how many total layers.
Is there anyway to get Photoshop to reopen this file?
why is my raw image cropped when I reopen it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor no apparent reason, and all of a sudden, PS CS6 on this PC will not open any previously unopened psd files. It will open them if I've opened them before. Running win7, have all the latest drivers, versions, etc, including the latest video drivers. Same files will open on my laptop with CS6 no problem. Also files open in CS5 no problem. I did the ctrl+shift+alt deal to reset... Is there a way to just reinstall PS?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS3, I crop or use the Image Size to get, say a 5"x7" image at 300 dpi. Then I do a "save as" as a jpeg image. Then I re-open it and it's not 5x7. Instead it's 8.75" x 6.25". When I look at Image Size again on this new, previously saved file, it displays 8.75" x 6.25" at 240 dpi.
I uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop CS3. I looked at my preferences to ensure it was displaying in inches and not centimeters. It is.
One thing to note is that this once worked and now it does not. I'm running with version 10.0 on Windows XP.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis may sound like a stupid question but I have been doing a bunch of work on different photos over the last few days and every thing has been working fine.
Today I had the program open and was working on a project with the eraser tool and I had to leave to answer the phone. When I left the tool was working fine while I was away from the computer it kicked into sleep mode. When I came back and went to start where I left off the eraser tool would do nothing.
I have since garbaged that whole project, restarted my computer reset all the tools you name it and I can not get that or the paint brush to work.
The eraser tool will make a very fine scratch no matter how I set it.
What happened while I was away from my desk????
I do not have any kids or anyone else that would have messed something up.
Does anyone have any ideas, is it something simple or should I try reloading the program?
While editing a photo in CS3 the program shut down and will not reopen my psd file. The error message reads "cannot complete your request because of a program error" -- it is a very large file (I have been saving it all along) and I had just "flattened layers" and went to open up a new, blank photo file when it shut down. Is there anyway to get this file to open?

This prevents my iMac from shutting down. How do I switch it off / disable it or repair it in OSX7?
Recently, when I save PhotoShop 5 photo files, they no longer create image thumbnails, just pixelated squares. Is there an adjustment to correct this? I am running CS5 on an iMac with OS 10.75.
I am creating photo files from scanned b&w negatives layered with colored scans of aged papers and saving them as tif files for printing.
If I try to use the hints, it takes me to the sign in box. When I try to sign in, the program hangs up. I can not cancel or quit the program. I have to use a Force Quit. It appears that I am locked out of some of the features unless I am signed in. Regardless, I would like to use the hints as this program is new to me. I have also tried to sign in by clicking Sign In in the upper tool bar. Same problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I render an image and also have a render elements ambient occlusion (for example) pass that comes up. If I were to accidently close the ambient occlusion rendered window before saving it, how can I get it back up? I know it's possible to get the main render back by clicking the 'Rendered Frame Window' button - is it possible to get all the render passes back up?
This of course assumes I'm not saving to file and am instead being stupid and closing the ambient occlusion window before saving it. It's happened... and is annoying to render the whole thing again just to get it back.
Secondary question: can a render pass be rendered separately?
I recently started using GIMP and while distracted and not thinking very well obviously I accidently closed the tool window and the layer window which usually open with GIMP.Now they don't open and I cannot find a way to make them open again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy main plug-in will not work with Photoshop CS5 in 64-bit mode. It was working fine for awhile, but now it won't. I took my computer to the Apple store for them to look at it. They said that even though we are telling it to open in 32, the program is ignoring that command and opening in 64 bit, thereby causing my plug-in not to work.
