View 1 RepliesIs there a way to take a flattened image and reverse that so you can manipulate the layers? Photoshop allows it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Paint Shop Pro X4 which I am using to try and manipulate images of postage stamps. I scan the stamp using a film/slide scanner and using the cmyk splitter can produce a good images of the watermark and postmark cancellation, which I save separately. On a lot of the older stamps the plate number, from which the stamp is printed, is engraved into the design of the stamp and quite often this number is obliterated by the black cancellation mark. Is there any way using layers, or any other X4 feature, I can lift the cancellation mark from the image to see what is underneath?

If I create a new image, it is only as large as that image. If I move the image off of it the image is no longer visible.
I don't know how to use the checkerboard and how to manipulate it.
I can't open PDF files on GIMP2.6 and manipulate it. Before, it was possible, but now don't. I don't know what changed on my computer.

It never happened before. I don't know how else I could describe this problem, but I made a short video that displays it better: [URL] ........

I hide some tools and rearrange them to different places within the toolbox.
I also drag some dockable dialogs together under the toolbox.
When I quit the Gimp and reopen it, the toolbox and dialogs are set to default and the tools that I've hidden are back in the toolbox. Gimp is ignoring my preferences.
This is my first experience with GIMP.
I'm ready to start organizing my dad's pictures. As from now I have 1330 pic's scanned and I want to enhance them. I found out that a lot of pics need to have a new White Balance. To do this one by one will take me a year. So, the question is: How to manipulate this "auto white balance" for a lot of selected pictures?
my gimp 2.8.6 makes majority normal layers turn into text layers..
Even if i "discard text information" from layer..and then save it as .xcf it doesnt work! Same layers appear as text layers when i open that .xcf Its not a big deal but it really slows me down when im working with layers..
I merged my layers down to scale to proportion and I thought I was done with the project, so I saved it and exported. I then learned that I did something incorrectly, so I went back to the project only to remember I merged the layers and I don't know how to undo that. How do you revert the layers back to layers?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI saved a file last night and now this morning I get an error message stating: "Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open. Try closing some windows and try again.". I've rebooted the system and made sure Photoshop was the only program running and that there were no other files open prior to trying to open my file. I increased Photoshops ram usage, checked the OpenGL settings, 3D and VRAM settings, cleared my temp files and am at a loss for opening this file.
System Specs:
Win 7 64
6 core I7 processor
32gb Ram
3GB VRAM
600gb free space on 7200 rpm drive
File specs:
1 3D object replicated maybe 5 times (yes, I should have rasterized them, and will do that to 4 of them if I get the file open)Maybe 8 textures..Not sure how many total layers.
Is there anyway to get Photoshop to reopen this file?
So, I render an image and also have a render elements ambient occlusion (for example) pass that comes up. If I were to accidently close the ambient occlusion rendered window before saving it, how can I get it back up? I know it's possible to get the main render back by clicking the 'Rendered Frame Window' button - is it possible to get all the render passes back up?
This of course assumes I'm not saving to file and am instead being stupid and closing the ambient occlusion window before saving it. It's happened... and is annoying to render the whole thing again just to get it back.
Secondary question: can a render pass be rendered separately?
why is my raw image cropped when I reopen it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor no apparent reason, and all of a sudden, PS CS6 on this PC will not open any previously unopened psd files. It will open them if I've opened them before. Running win7, have all the latest drivers, versions, etc, including the latest video drivers. Same files will open on my laptop with CS6 no problem. Also files open in CS5 no problem. I did the ctrl+shift+alt deal to reset... Is there a way to just reinstall PS?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS3, I crop or use the Image Size to get, say a 5"x7" image at 300 dpi. Then I do a "save as" as a jpeg image. Then I re-open it and it's not 5x7. Instead it's 8.75" x 6.25". When I look at Image Size again on this new, previously saved file, it displays 8.75" x 6.25" at 240 dpi.
I uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop CS3. I looked at my preferences to ensure it was displaying in inches and not centimeters. It is.
One thing to note is that this once worked and now it does not. I'm running with version 10.0 on Windows XP.
In Lighroom 4.1 , I close a catalogue and when I go to re-open another catalogue and it does not re-open , I have re-installed the software no luck , I have tried to open it with my backups no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best way to manipulate text in Photoshop? Let's say I need to edit an "A" and I want to stretch out the bottom corners of the letter, while not moving the upper portion (wide bottom, skiny top)... what is the best way to do this? I know the "skew" function somewhat moves corners, but I want to take the binding boxes (while in the skew function) and move them individually so it doesn't affect another corner.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to add/manipulate a .gif image which is a 'loading' symbol to my website. I added it without any problem and it works fine. The thing I want and perhaps everyone wants that the 'loading' image should stop and then prompted to the website. Although it seems lame but it gives the website a cool effect and everyone thinks that its 'semi-flash'. So now I want it to stop after 2-3 seconds and then prompted to the rest of the website. Can I do it in Xara Web Designer 7 Premium ?

Recently (for a month ?), when I open Corel Photo Paint (by any method), the window opens not in a maximized size, but almost, with the upper border just off screen and the right border barely visible on the far right side of the monitor screen. To relocate the PP window I have to place the cursor on the right window border, click (the cursor changes to the left/right cursor), and slide the window to the left . When I do this, the entire PP window "snaps"downward just enough for me to "grab" the upper right corner (the cursor changes to the diagonal arrows). This doesn't occur with the Draw program.
I have tried opening/closing, resizing with new files, no files, old files, from the Taskbar, from the "exe" program, Start menu, the Open with option, etc. Nothing I do will force the opening window to open in the size/location it was lastly closed in (as I remember it doing). Even using the Ctrl key/Exit, as suggested elsewhere here for another's problem.

How do I do that in photoshop?
I achieve that effect the cheesy way: MS Office Picture Manager > Crop> resize to desire result> Print Screen (on the keyboard)> Open Paint> Edit > Paste> Save> use MS Office Picture Manager to crop to desire result.
There are two major problems with that: one, I cant get rid of the "crop frame" from within the image; two, the image quality is decidedly bad.
How to manipulate data links? I want excel tables to come over and use their native excel formatting. I have a heck of a time getting them to look right (text size, font, justification, cell size, etc) and then when I update the link after making changes to the XLS, they get all cattywompus again.
