I have seen a few threads with variations of these questions. I had the same ones, until now. I did some serious messing around and came up with this, I thought it may be useful:
To get the AutoCAD 2012 "Properties" panel in ACA 2012:
Disclaimer: This procedure involves modifying your software's configuration file(s). If you choose to follow it, you do so at your own risk.
1. Open the "Customize User Interface" dialog by a familiar method (I like the keyboard, the command is "CUI").
2. Switch to the "Transfer" tab.
a. If you can't see it, expand the dialog to 2-columns by clicking the ">" button in the lower right corner.
3. Set the left-hand column to "acad.cuix", I'll call this the "source file".
a. If you can not see the file, click the "Open" button and navigate to your "Application Data" folder.
i. Win7: {userProfile}AppDataRoaming
ii. WinXP: {userProfile}Application Data
b. Navigate further to the Autodesk Support folder:
i. {Application Data}AutodeskACA 2012enuSupport
4. Set the right-hand column to "Main Customization File", or another customization file you intend to use, the "destination file".
5. Expand both files' "Ribbon->Panels" nodes.
6. Locate the "Home - Properties" panel in the source file.
7. Right-click the panel and select "Copy" from the context menu.
8. Right-click the destination file's "Panels" node and select "Paste" from the context menu, it will be added to the end of the panel list.
a. NOTE: You may get a warning that the panel already exists. If you do, click the "Rename" button. The new panel will most likely show up as "Copy Of Home - Properties"
b. Right-Click the new panel and select "Rename". Set the name to "Home - ACADProperties"
9. Click the destination file's "Save" button.
10. Switch back to the dialog's "Customize" tab.
11. Using the drop-down, select your destination file as the file to customize.
12. Expand the (a) "Ribbon -> Tabs -> Home-ACA" and (b) "Ribbon -> Panels" nodes in the "Customizations…" (top-left) section.
13. Select the "Ribbon -> Panels -> Home-ACADProperties" panel, a preview will appear and the "Properties" section will populate.
14. Edit the panel's "Display Text" property, change it to "Properties" (this is the name that will appear on the panel once it's added to the UI).
15. Right-click the "Home-ACADProperties" panel in the "Customizations…" section and select "Copy" from the context menu.
16. Right-click the "Ribbon -> Tabs -> Home-ACA" node and select "Paste" from the context menu.
17. Click the "Save" button.
18. Click the "OK" button.
19. Observe your UI, the new Properties panel will appear at the right end of the "Home" tab.
20. Drag the panel to the location you would like it.
a. NOTE: Adding this panel to the tab causes the other panels to resize so the ribbon fits the screen/UI width. If there are any panels that you aren't using, turn them off to allow more room for the other panels. (I turned off the "Transparency" panel, the new "Properties" panel includes those commands in the slide-out, making it redundant.)
b. To turn a panel off, right-click a panel title, select Show Panels, then uncheck any panel you don't want displayed.
Now, my ribbon looks like this:
Is there any way to edit colors in Paint.net so that I would have only solid colors in the image? I would like to get rid of sort of "semi colors/pixels" (see border between red and green color). I would like to have all the borders between colors like the border between blue and grey color where there is only solid colors present.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a grid set up. say 10X10 each. I then fill in each square of the grid. I get rid of the grid, left with 10X 10 squares next to each other separated by 1 pixel then I do an outline to quickly get rid of the spaces between each square.
Now I I have 12 pixel wide line, now I would like to do an Inline (negative outline) to reduce the line back down to 10 pixel (or less ) wide line.
Since it is not exactly a straight line, but rather than a zig zaging line I can't exactly use the pixel selection tool.
When I draw a line, is there a way to say, "Start at point (864,0), go exactly 270° down (actually, I can hold down the shift key for that, but I digress...) and end at the other side of the canvas at point (864, 3456)?
A script would probably work well, but I've never dipped into that.
I would like to change the look of the point that I draw ni autocad.
When i draw a point (1 on the joined picture), I can choose different style (point, circle, square, ...) and increase or reduce the size (2 on the joined picture)
point.PNG
but the model stay allways thin, i would like to modify my point to look like the 3 ont the joined picture.
I know that 20 models are allready a lot of choice, but is there a possibility to modify the library of the point?
Question 1. How would I make a cartoon drawing/picture or a drawing/picture with color, Into a drawing with lines only, no color. I use the gray scale option and that works great, but it still has the shading of the drawing/picture, and I want lines only. So is there some what of a easy way to do this?
Question 2. Once having a line drawing if some of the lines are a little shaky or kinda looking to pixel ish, Is there a simple way to smooth these lines out?
I'm trying to draw a plan of my house in Autocad 2009 but I seem to be endlessly using trim and extend because I can't easily select the points that I want with osnap. Eg. imagine I have a box, and I want to start drawing another box inside it that has each side as 10 units smaller than the corresponding side on the outer box.
Step 1 - I draw a small line from the top left corner of the big box using the endpoint snap, typing in "5" for the length.
Step 2 - I then do the same at right angles to the first line to get me to the starting point of the inner box. This always leaves me with 2 small lines to remember to delete.
Step 3 - Then in order to draw the top line of the inner box I end up drawing to a random length because I can't say "draw until 5 units away from the right hand side of the big box", then I end up trimming it later once I've repeated steps 1,2 and 3 for the next side of the inner box.
I know in my example above I could have scaled the box down or something but that's not what I'm getting at. I really want a way of selecting line start and end points that are a known position away from an existing point.
How do I change the insertion point of a text using "vla-put" ? I've tried using :
(vla-put-InsertionPoint en a)) with a = (4455.94 428.576 0.0)
and I get the following error:

I am having trouble drilling down to the object that contains the point label components. Specifically, I would like to access values such as Anchor Component, Anchor Point, Text Height, X Offest, and Y Offset for the various components of the Point Label Style. I am able to get the Point Label Style by name (object dump below) but I don't know how to get at the components that I want to work with.

I have several existing block definitions and need to change the insertion point. Also, when creating a new block in the Block Editor, how do I define the insertion point?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like to draw a Zig Zag Line, but I want that the line start in point "A" and finish in point "B".
The image below is similar to how I want the line, but I would like to have that "wavy" style. I use Illustrator CS6.
I use the vanilla app and do vanilla things. Lately I have been interested in using some turn of the century public domain line illustrations, but often they are found with yellow backgrounds from the old paper.
I can knock the blotchy yellow out with levels and such, but I think there is probably a way to remove it instead of washing it out. I see that there are a few plug ins out there that might do the job, but I don't know if they are updated to work with the newest program on a 64 bit Win 7 machine.
Bonus question: Since some of the drawings are not the best quality, so vectorizing them has potential. I have played around with the trace bitmap tool on Inkscape and it is cool, but is it the best way? Is there a way to clean up a raster image without manually doing cleanup, or a plug in that lets it scale up?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen using mtext and a background mask and try to modify the border offset factor from the default of 1.5 , the factor reverts back to 1.0. If I type in 1.25 or 1.75, it will not save it and revert to 1.0. If I put in a larger number like 2.0 or 3.0, that factor will be retained.
View 4 Replies View Related I have a line or a pline segment and i want to start a line from a point laying there and go perpendicular outwards. Is there a way to do it with tracking?
Yes, i saw the command draw line at an angle but i find it a little bit complicated for a simple task like that. I am sure autodesk have a simplest solution about that.
If i am already at the draw line mode and i can easy catch the tracking perpendicular to previous segment but if i want to start from another line and go perpendicular i cannot make the tracking work.
The following is straight from WikiHelp....
To modify the sketch line of the railing, click Modify | Railings tabMode panel Edit Path.
However, everything after"click Modify | Railings tab" does not appear anywhere on my screen. The only active editing tools are 'Pick a New Host' & 'Reset Rail'. Is there a special Revit handshake of dance that I need to know?
I know this option makes all lines the same thickness when printing, but where can i modify this "global" thickness.
View 7 Replies View RelatedCan I modify an existing viewport in a macro or in the command line?
Using a macro, I want to modify (specifically delete) the viewport from a layout tab after chspace from model space.
I have LT so no LISP. qselect works but cannot be put into a macro.
If I "select all" on a layout tab in paperspace ACAD says 1 of the objects selected is the viewport so I know autocad recognizes the viewport as a different kind of object.
I am trying to flip between Bylayer and color 150. If cecolor is bylayer set cecolor to 150 and if cecolor is 150 set cecolor to bylayer. It seems so simple but it's not working.

(setq cc (getvar "cecolor"))
(cond
((= cc "Bylayer") (setvar "cecolor" "150") )
((/= cc "Bylayer") (setvar "cecolor" "Bylayer") )

I noticed that if i draw a very short line (about 10 pixels or less) then cursor shifts back to starting point.
Tested on systems an drivers:
Mac OS X 10.6.4 or 10.7.4
Driver 6.3.0 or 6.3.3-3
Photoshop CS 5 (12.0.4)
Photoshop CS 5.5 (12.1)
Mac OS X 10.8.2, Driver 6.3.3-3 and Photoshop 6 (13.0.1) - same problem.
I have three Intuos 5 tablets for now and all have this bug so this is not a hardware problem i think. Corel Painter 12 - all good.
I have a simple block with 2 attribute and 1 line inside it.
something like this:
Attribute1

Attribute2
I want to modify length of line due to width of thoes attributs. length of line is equal to maximum(width attribute1 and width attribute2).
dxf code for start point of a line is 10 and end point for a line entity is 11.The question is: how can I modify the length of line automatically via maximum width of these attributes?
for getting width of a text:
(defun GetWidth ( en ) ((lambda ( lst ) (- (caadr lst) (caar lst))) (textbox en)))
sample:

I've just 'upgraded' to CC, and noticed that actions that alter Curves adjustment layers do not play back correctly. The Action itself contains the correct steps ... here's an example.. but it refuses to play this type of step in any Action, giving me the default, flat curve, thus ...I've an extensive set of Actions of this type for photo-processing: I take it that these are now pretty useless in PSD CC?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt is possible to change a document style color with a VBA macro or why not with iLogic ?.
I regularly imports STEP and the parts have defined colors. Unfortunately for change must clear all colors of surfaces. By cons, if you edit the styles we see that for each color there is a style with the color name.
So basically if I change a color style, all parts using this style will change.
I would like to take some text and modify the color of it toward the bottom of the text. This is to only change text color- not background. I've found several docs including here saying
"In the toolbox at the bottom of the text tool option click "Path from text" ".

How do I modify the leader for station and offset labels to underline the top line of text?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are trying to use the "Underline top line" option located in the Content tab of the Modify MultiLeader Style dialog in AutoCAD 2012 (See attachment).
The minor issue we have is that there seems to be no way to adjust the gap between the text and the "underline". In regular dimensions, there is a dimvar called DIMGAP that controls this distance. Is there any way to control the distance between the top line MText and the "underline"?
During text creation, I can resize the text by changing font size, use move it around..Later on if I want to modify the text (resize, move to another location)...I don't know how..
