Revit :: Changing Length Of A Wall And Wall Type?
Oct 31, 2013When I try to change the length of a wall it grows at both end. How to grow at one end only?
When I change the wall type to one with a different thickness, I cannot control which face of the wall remains fixed and which face moves. eg: change from 130mm to 250mm screws up my room width. How do I do this?
Revit :: Dimensioning Vertical Wall Reveals For Joints
Apr 22, 2010I am using vertical wall reveals for joints in concrete tilt-up panels. They work just fine until I need to dimensions to their centerlines. I tried using two 'half joints', but as soon as I align them I lose the option to snap to the side of the reveal in the center of the joint. The attached image shows both attempts. Is there a way to get this to work?

Jan 27, 2012I am trying to create a custom curtain wall which will contain vertical strapping for the vertical mullions and horizontal wood boards. I created the two profiles and am able to create the curtain wall type control spacing etc...This looks great in elevation and plan, but when I cut a section detail the vertical strapping is cut at every horizontal mullion.
My question in short! If I want to create the look of continuous horizontal boards how can I prevent the vertical mullions from being cut? I'd rather not offset them apart so I can use this model element in details. See the section detail view attached.

Dec 1, 2013i performed a proboolean on a wall, put the windows and door aec objects in and evertthing,.. i m tyring to put some brick texture on the wall. but the pro boolean deeestrooooys my uvs, and i cant do anything, cant unwrap can put a box uv modifier nothing looks good.. is there any remedy to this??? should i have used pro cutter or regular boolean?? is there a certain setting i should have used?? is there anyway to cut out the shapes for the windows and the doors without loosing my uv integrity?????

Jul 3, 2013I have a wall type that has an embeded sweep for the wall base. My project is set up in two phases, existing and new work. A door has been created in the existing phase, and demoed in the new phase. Where the door has been demolished an infill with the base appears, great! In the new phase I inserted a larger door that cuts the existing walland the entire infiil from the demolished door, but the base still remains. How do I get the new door to cut the base that was created as a result of the infill?

The wall will only be removed so that it is above the new ceiling. How do a create an opening in it that is not room bounding? I have a wall opening family, but you cannot choose whether or not they are room bounding. This only works for walls.

Aug 9, 2007I want to make a wall with some relief.. I dont want it to look flat or anything, but with some depth between the bricks. Its from a 3d view so it would not look nice if it were flat. I dont know how to get this effect though..and moreso..I have some graffiti brushes for the wall that need the same kinda brick relief effect (cause its sprayed on the bricks of course.. is there any way to create this as a style, brush, pattern or whatever...?
ive tried some wall brushes, but they dont give that feeling of depth..

Sep 9, 2011I have a client who wants to see a more realistic representation of the direction of the planks in her floor. I cannot figure out ow to do this. I have succesfully changed the direction of the beam system under the floor, but cannot change the direction of the floor panel. I have tried the folllowing:
1) Going into sketch mode and changing the beam support direction.
2) Changing the pattern in the materials fsettings from horizontal to vertical.

Jan 27, 2012I am having trouble on how to show the brick pattern on my 3d views. Some shows some do not, only the shade color. i am exporting or printing to pdf these 3d images under consistent shade mode no shadows. I tried flipping wall orientations, didn't work. Apparently when v viewing afar the patterns do not show, when zooming in to the view they show up. but the savifn the current 3d viewing with the patterns partly showing yields the same output prints.

For example, in the image below, I've split the wall and adjusted it's profile to create some cheesy angled parapet. How do i get my wall cap to follow along? I thought splitting it and changing it's height would work, but no. And if I change the profile without splitting the wall the wall cap just runs right through the wall, as if the profiel was never even changed.

Dec 5, 2013How to get the brick hatch pattern on my elevations to line up between levels. I have a two story residence with one wall the front that has brick all the up to the roof (the rest of the house has cement board side on the second story). My problem is that the brick pattern on the second floor wall does not line up with the brick pattern on the first floor.
I tried to just extend the first floor wall up to the roof, but I did not like how it wrapped around the corner of the second floor to tie in with the siding. Surely theres is a way to set the hatch patterns origin like in ACA so that all the bricks line up nice and pretty. Also would lining up the brick pattern on the quoins, which are, whatchamacallums... in-place-edit components?
