AutoCAD Architecture :: Brick Hatch Pattern Not Following Wall
Jul 29, 2012
When I draw a brick wall in the north-south or west-east direction, the pattern is at 45 degrees, but when I draw a wall at any other angle, the pattern is still at 45 degrees but not relative to the brick wall.
I know how to add components horizontally to a wall like brick in the front and air space, etc. My question is how to have bottom 2 feet of wall to be of one material and the top of another material.
How to get the brick hatch pattern on my elevations to line up between levels. I have a two story residence with one wall the front that has brick all the up to the roof (the rest of the house has cement board side on the second story). My problem is that the brick pattern on the second floor wall does not line up with the brick pattern on the first floor.
I tried to just extend the first floor wall up to the roof, but I did not like how it wrapped around the corner of the second floor to tie in with the siding. Surely theres is a way to set the hatch patterns origin like in ACA so that all the bricks line up nice and pretty. Also would lining up the brick pattern on the quoins, which are, whatchamacallums... in-place-edit components?
I have two created wall styles, one is a stud wall with gyp bd each side, the other is a cmu wall with gyp bd each side. I want to use a solid hatch which I am able to do but the problem is one wall style the stud hatch is HATCH 1 and in the other wall style the CMU hatch is HATCH 2. It seems as though the two wall styles are tied together some how for if I turn on / off a hatch in one of the wall styles it turns on / off the hatch in the other wall style.
Another little problem off the big list. Up until now i have been using Autocad Architecture 2009 but recently upgraded to 2012. For some reason though, my hatches are now no longer linking on wall corners like the attached drawing shows.
Is it possible to get the wall fill pattern to show up in plan view but not in a specific section view? I tried the detail levels, Course, medium, fine, and of course the hatch pattern doesn't show up in course, but then the wall components don't show up either.
I am in a section view where i want to show a repeated cmu detail component up the wall as part of a detail, but then the hatch pattern is displayed behind it. I don't want to remove the hatch pattern entirely because I still want it to be displayed in the plan view.
ACA 2011. I would like to copy the "standard" wall style add a surface hatch and display that in an elevation (exterior) view. I have played around with this and due to many different places to edit the materials.
I have the elevations created. When I go back into the construct and edit the wall style do I have to re-create the elevations to see the hatch? Or I think I just have something set incorrectly in the style.
The hatch appears correct on the screen, but when printing there are voids created on the printout. These voids appear in different areas for each print. Our plotter is HPT790, that has all the software updates.
I have Autocad Architecture 2014 installed on my office PC and Laptop.A drawing with a hatch pattern set to a scale of 1 on my laptop needs to be changed to a scale of 25.4 to look the same on my PC. Both versions of ACA are US metric.
I have a CAD station that is having all sorts of issues all of a sudden. When one of our architects opens her drawings she gets the "Hatch - Large, Dense Hatch Patterns" dialogue box.
When I we choose the "Do not convert these hatch patterns" and open the drawing, it converts all the hatch patterns to solid anyway. This is mostly affecting the walls and converting all the hatch into one solid blob of a hatch.
One weird thing is this only happens in the medium detail display configuration. I can go to any other display and it is fine. The other weird thing is that these same drawings open fine on any other computer so it has to be a system problem.
The other gremlin I solved yesterday was that the system all of a sudden was not recognizing the LTYPESHP.SHX file. I had to add the DataCache support folder containing a ltypeshp.shx file to the support file search path.
When I add the hatch pattern to the tool palette and then try to use it, it defaults the boundaries add command to pick points. Is there a way i can have it default to select objects?
i performed a proboolean on a wall, put the windows and door aec objects in and evertthing,.. i m tyring to put some brick texture on the wall. but the pro boolean deeestrooooys my uvs, and i cant do anything, cant unwrap can put a box uv modifier nothing looks good.. is there any remedy to this??? should i have used pro cutter or regular boolean?? is there a certain setting i should have used?? is there anyway to cut out the shapes for the windows and the doors without loosing my uv integrity?????
I want to make a wall with some relief.. I dont want it to look flat or anything, but with some depth between the bricks. Its from a 3d view so it would not look nice if it were flat. I dont know how to get this effect though..and moreso..I have some graffiti brushes for the wall that need the same kinda brick relief effect (cause its sprayed on the bricks of course.. is there any way to create this as a style, brush, pattern or whatever...?
ive tried some wall brushes, but they dont give that feeling of depth..
I want to make metallic text in pse7 (free w/win7) and I am in way over my head (ok fine, it's not all that hard). I don't understand 120 text angle, and what the heck is rasterize?
I am having trouble on how to show the brick pattern on my 3d views. Some shows some do not, only the shade color. i am exporting or printing to pdf these 3d images under consistent shade mode no shadows. I tried flipping wall orientations, didn't work. Apparently when v viewing afar the patterns do not show, when zooming in to the view they show up. but the savifn the current 3d viewing with the patterns partly showing yields the same output prints.
I'm attempting to create a wall style that has 2 components, a framed wall and a brick veneer. What I would like to do is have this wall react a certain way when I insert a window. Basically, I don't want the window to cut into the brick veneer, only the framing.
I have attached my attempt so far, and I have not figured out how to get the window to only cut the framed portion.
I can convert a wall to a curtain wall but not a curtain wall to a wall. When converting a wall to a curtain wall I select wall in the design pallette right click apply to wall select the wall and it changes to a curtain wall. When I try converting a curtain wall to a wall I right click on curtain wall select apply properties to wall then go to select the curtain wall but I cannot select the curtain wall as a wall?
I simply want to convert an existing curtain wall to another wall type how is that done/
I recently downloaded new hatch pattern that were not in the AtoCAD hatch list and I really need..step to install them to the hatch list so AutoCAD can recognize them?
