Revit :: How To Align Nested Family To Reference Line In Host Family To Rotates Around A Certain Point
Jan 29, 2014I'm trying to align a nested family to a reference line in my host family so that it rotates around a certain point.
I've created the reference line in my host family, locked the end point to two reference planes and then gave an angular parameter to the angle between the ref. line and the ref. plane.
I then inserted the nested family and aligned it to the ref. line. The problem is that when I flex the angle, i get a "Constraints not satisfied" error..
What could be wrong?
I'm using a generic face based family for both host and nested families...

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Without going to specifics yet, I commented-out ObjectCollections and the error happened further down in the class.
Is there a different way ObjectCollections are handled in a vb.net class, versus a VBA module?

Apr 8, 2012I've just changed a VS compile options to use .NET Framework 3.5 (previously Framework 4).
My user controls that I've added as containers for the pallette don't seem to agree with it and I get a "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error on each of their resx files. And one on Resources.resx.
Attached is a screenshot.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

AutoCad 3D :: Extrude Not Creating A Closed 3D Object?
Oct 6, 2011I am currently working on a playground development for a school project where we have to build a 3D playground based off of autocad drawing, modles, etc.Below is a picture of a "crab see-saw" that I have in my park, and I am having trouble making it 3D. I have tried using "extrude", but, while it streches the drawing into 3D, only the crab's claws become a solid object. The crab's body remains "open".

The steps I take to extude it are:
1. Select extrude command
2. Select entire drawing
3. Click top of crab body for designated height
4. Type in 7 (units) as the strech command
5. Press enter
All the lines for the crab body are connecterd and I just can't figure out why it isn't working.

Jul 10, 2012Is there a work around to extruding a profile that is not parallel to the plane on the path. Im new to revit and want to create a component the way I did in AutoCAD when I could just Extrude a closed poly with a path and it did not care it it was perpendicular to the path.

Jan 7, 2013i'm applying an extrude modifier to a simple spline shape, and i am accustomed to the extrude modifier generating a solid 3d object in the shape of the spline, if the spline is a closed shape.
however, in this case, the extrude modifier is generating just a 3d outline based on the spline's shape...
i can't figure out why i'm not getting a solid 3d object since the spline is closed (i checked all the vertices).

(First point is always (0,0,0))
On autocad, I have to align different object with this plane.
I'd like to know if there is a method to directly align object with this plane?
(I can easily have the normal to this plane, and other informations, if needed)
We already try to calculate angles and make a rotation, but it's not very accurate.

Dec 30, 2012I'm trying to extrude multiple faces, and then get them to rotate along the center of the object so that they can all sort of have the same angle radiating from the center. In the picture, the one on the top Left is my starting point. I would like to rotate those faces, for example, so that they will all be flat (picture on Right which I achieved through vert snapping to grid) but the only results I can produce are the 2 small pictures on the bottom. =(
Is this possible?

Photoshop :: Auto Align Object In One Layer To Another?
May 20, 2012I am actually an Encore user who uses Photoshop only for the menu. I am not experience with Photoshop.
A button in Encore menu is made up with a few layers. Example here can be a box and a text label below. These are 2 different layers in Photoshop, grouped together.
I'd like to aling the text label the to box. Normally the box is wider than the label. So a simple arrangement is center the text label according to the text width and box width. Right now, I have to manually adjust it by choosing both and align "center". Is there any way to automatically center the text label?

Jun 26, 2007upgrading to Photoshop CS3 (previously used CS1). There are a lot quirks between the two but the one that is absolutely infuriating me is something that was once so very very simple and that is aligning one layer object to another.
All I am looking to do is left align layer 2 with layer 1, but it just won't let me do it? It is almost like when I do it they meet halfway? I'm not talking about anything with opaque edges or anything, simple strokes and boxes. It just doesnt want to happen.
Sometimes I will put a few layers in a folder and align it against another folder and the same thing happens...there isn't any precision what-so-ever? It is also hard to figure out which layer I need to click to align another to...or so it seems it has just thrown me for a loop that I don;t know anymore!
What is worse is with a very large document, even if I manually nudge a group of layers (using the arrow keys or dragging with the mouse) I get the spinning beachball of death and once returning things to normal...nothing has moved?
I mean it makes me feel like a complete Newbie...is there a setting somewhere that is causing this erratic behaviour?

Revit :: Align View At The Same Position On Sheets
Jul 8, 2011If I have several sheets of several floors, and I want the views in each sheet to be positioned at exactly the same position. How do I best accomplish that?
You can use the "Guide Grid" to place the views on a sheet. Then you can align the view (using the grid lines) to this guide grid. In the other sheets, you can use again the same guide grid, just select the guide grid name in the properties of the sheet.
Additional information about guide grid is available in the Revit help, search for "Aligning views on a sheet" or "Guide Grid".

But when dealing with raster, this tool isn't available. The only way I found is through "menu=> objects=>align". To raster images, is there similar vector tool bar to access direct object align/distribution?
