is there a way to cut/copy a view off of a sheet and paste it onto another sheet in the same exact location (paste aligned)?
For example i have three elevations on one sheet...i would like to keep one on that sheet and cut and paste the other two onto another sheet in the same locations...possible?
I started a new project. I linked a revit file. I copy monitored key levels from the linked file. The color of the level heads is black and this indicates that there are no associated plan views. My question is, what is the best way to create plan views from the copy monitored levels?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with copy/paste of drafting elements (detail lines, detail items) from one view to another. Basically, I am copying a detail of section created in a ‘Drafting View’ onto an actual wall ‘Section View’. Then I receive an error message that cannot be ignored saying [Cannot paste view-specific elements from different views]. So I am not sure what is happening. The elements that I am copying and pasting are mainly drafting work.
I also noticed that copy/paste part of the drafted work sometimes work. But when I copy the whole drafted work from ‘Drafted View’ to ‘Section View. It gives me the error!!
We would like to make the transparency of glass-materials visible in views and section-views by using the "realistic style". During a 3d-view our glass-material looks like transparent. Isn't it possible for REVIT to display the transparency of materials in views ?
The workaround to hide "glass" by using "overriding visibility" is not possible for us because some of our families and project families are using glass-materials inside (Showcases f.e.).

Since the end of Aug. 2012 I've been making families for a manufacturer. I left Friday evening with good families. This morning I am finding all the families I checked with a problem.
When I move the cursor across the various views it doubles the views. Rolling the mouse wheel one click either way to zoom in or out cleans the view but on the next time the cursor goes across the view it doubles it again. Now there are 4 views overlapping each other. The next time it is possibly 8, and so on. It is difficult to count them because they are overlapping but it looks like they are doubling each time.
The software is Revit Architecture 2011 and the computer is a Dell Precision T3500.Are the families corrupted or is it the computer? Is there a toggle I hit that I shouldn't have?
I have two seperate parts that I have laid out on a drawing. I wish to align these parts.... Is this possible?

In my case, the entire image has now been cut, not just the pasted object.The reason I do this is because I'm working with two virtually identical pictures. On one picture there has been a modification which I wish to paste onto the other. I cut and paste but need to align the pasted object with the picture. So, I paste the object and move it; then cut and then paste it to check it's in the correct position. If it's out of alignment then the image appears to move. There may be other ways to do this but I find this way easy.
I am running Photoshop CS5 Extended on a Mac OSX 10.7.3. I can not copy or align any files in Photoshop. This happens no matter what I do or how the file was created. I have tried everything and nothing seems to resolve the issues. It is not a locked layer, I have checked all my preferences and I am using all the default settings. I am at my witts end!
Basically what I have been doing is to use Fireworks but I now have to use Photoshop for a certain project.
I'm working on a drawing that has some plan views that I need to keep.. but I would like to import views from another drawing.
Is there a way to copy views from another drawing? Would be nice if when you insert another drawing as a block, it would bring the views along, same way that it brings along blocks, layers, linetypes.. etc.

Working in an idw file, I have a need for two drawing sheets with the identical views of the same part. However, each sheet will need different dimensions and annotations. What I would like to do is after completing one sheet, in one step create the second identical sheet, then just edit/add dimensions and annotations. Is there a method to do this? So far, I have only been able to copy one view at a time from sheet to sheet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have autocad lt 2009, previously when I wanted to trace a drawing I would go to paint, copy the drawing and then paste it in autocad on one layer and do the drawing on another layer worked great, But now when I do the same process it doesn't work.....previously I could draw on the image, could edit the lines, copy, erase, move etc. But now when do this if I have to copy a line I select copy and when I click on the line I want to copy the jpg drawing goes away, or if I try to erase a line the drawing will get deleted, Do I need to uninstall autocad and reinstall?

How can I drag and drop or copy and paste one layer from one doc to another but keep its original location on the "art board"? (X and Y coordinates).
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I am having trouble copying and pasting things. The issue is that after I copy something/Print Screen, it takes several pastes for Photoshop to finally realize the change. Basically, the first couple of times I paste, the thing that was previously copied gets pasted it. I don't know if it's making a difference but it switches the paste to the latest thing that was copied faster after I minimize and maximize back the program. It's extremely annoying especially because then I have to either undo each time/delete the layers. Plus, I do a lot of frame comparisons between different video sources and it's hard to tell whether the thing being pasted was changed or not.

On my previous graphics software it was simply a case of highlighting the required area, click 'copy' then click 'paste' and bingo! To copy and paste on Photoshop seems much more involved including a number of complicated steps.
When i copy or copy merged and paste into a new canvas or layer, i get like a small Gradient round the sides of the image, the Gradient goes white. I know its a Copy problem because if i paste the layer selection into MS Paint it still gets that gradient around the sides.

Ever since I upgraded to CS6, I have big problems copying from illustrator to photoshop. I can get it to succesfully paste about 20% of the time. AI starts "not responding" while I'm trying to paste to photoshop every single time, but can usually snap out of it after a few minutes. - Copy text
- select text tool
- drag text box
- paste text
I get all the words but bunched in one line. I have tried selecting the text layer and selecting Convert to Paragraph and it does nothing. I am sure there is a single option or button I am missing. I can only type titles not a wrapping paragraph in the box
I am not able to copy and paste text from non-Adobe programs (like Keynote or Word) into Photoshop CS6. I get an error message reading "Could not complete the Paste Text command because the clipboard data is empty or invalid." I have tried shutting down Photoshop, shutting down other programs, re-starting my computer, adjusting my Preferences and asking Adobe by phone and chat. I am on a new iMac and have no third party plug-ins installed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen copying a gradient filled shape from illustrator CS6 to Photoshop CS6 an outline "halo" appears in the Photoshop image although the shape has no outline to begin with. Is this a clipboard issue? Is it an anti-aliasing setting I can change? Apparently it isn't as noticeable when I drag the shape from illustrator to Photoshop as it is when using the copy/paste command. But in both situations there seem to be issues in the border when gradient filled shapes touch other shapes.

I have had this problem many times with both CS6 and CS5. I'm not sure if this is a Photoshop question or a Windows OS 8 question but anyways it seems to only happen with Photoshop.
I copy an image offline to edit in photoshop. After I'm finished I save it and delete the image layer from the workspace to get ready for the next image. I grab another image that I want to paste in the same photshop workspace. When I paste, it pastes the same image I copied first. It even does this when I restart Photoshop, so that's why I think it may have to do with Windows Clipboard.
I'm also really interested in details about how 'Copy/Paste" and the "Clipboard" work with different programs so I can best understand how to utilize it with what seems to be a simple tool, yet I still find myslef with questions because I don't filly undertsnad it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFrequently, I want to copy a bitmap from PhotoPaint X6 and paste into Corel Draw X6. I want to avoid exporting or saving the bitmap - just copy and paste. So what I'm copying is a CPT. I am having no luck pasting into Corel Draw from Photo Paint. I can copy and paste from Photo Paint into WordPerfect X4 although I do get the message that the "OLE object could not be created".
I've used the Copy/Paste from Edit and also the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. The option to Paste Special is not available in Corel Draw under these circumstances.
I'm running Vista Home Premium and have installed all updates to the Windows system.
